PhonesGag That Greedy Android Phone And Maximize Your Data Plan. by Timmyspy(op): 4:52pm On Oct 01, 2015
Android phones are known to be data greedy. And you dare not turn on your data if you don't have a data plan. Otherwise your service provider would hack off your credit with a saw. Even if you get a data plan, it doesn't last through the month - no matter what you do. No sooner you turn on your data than every app on your phone is scrambling for its share.
Now, don't worry be happy because those days are over.
This post is intended to show you how to gag your android phone using a firewall.
The best android firewalls require root access. So you have to ROOT your phone.
Now assuming you've rooted your phone go over to your App store and download DROIDWALL (less than 400kb). Or Just search for it on Google. Now install it. Open the App and mark only the Apps you want to connect to the Internet either on 3G or on Wi-Fi. Now touch the options button > Enabled firewall > apply rules.
Note that if your phone is properly rooted, once you turn firewall on you'll get a pop-up notification asking for permission to allow the droidwall App. Touch Yes/Allow. Now download a Data Manager App to monitor your data usage.
Voila!!! You're Good to go. Now turn on your data and watch as the droidwall blocks Apps you didn't mark from accessing the Internet.
If droidwall didn't work for you the alternatively download AFWall+ (Android Firewall +) (less than 4mb) Android App -
http://www.appsapk.com/afwall-android-f
irewall/ or from the play store. Its setup is similar to droidwall.
And finally for the best Internet data deals in Nigeria visit http://www.3ptechies.com/mobile/

PhonesWarning !!! These Fonts Would Brick Your Phone by Timmyspy(op):
WARNING !!! THESE FONTS WOULD BRICK YOUR PHONE

Android is the most popular phone operating system today especially because of the limitless opportunities that it offers. One of such is the ability to change fonts. Android fonts are even more beautiful and so admired. But when one is told of the risks involved in changing a font, many would simply shake the dust off their feet and flee.

The first of such risks is ROOTING your phone. Put simply rooting means unlocking your phone to grant you access as a bona fide administrator with the ability to access and alter internal files. To put this in perspective, imagine living in a one room apartment with a secret door. that leads to a five (5) bedroom apartment. Rooting your android phone grants you access to those bedrooms. But some brands of android like Samsung and Xperia need not be rooted to change its fonts though.

Rooting your phone is a risk because it voids your warranty. And if you inadvertently change, remove or alter a system files you aren't supposed to, your phone would end up as useful as a BRICK. Yeah you read it right. A BRICK!!! See other forums and threads on how to successfully root your phone.

So this isn't for the faint hearted. Now you've overcome your fears and rooted your phone. The first thing to do immediately after you root your phone is to do a nandroid backup of your phone so that in case something goes wrong you can avoid stories that touch. CWM, TWRP and MTKdroid tools can help your do this. As a rule, BEFORE ever attempting to change anything on the internal memory, PLEASE CREATE A COMPLETE BACKUP OF YOUR PHONE -DATA ROM, CONTACTS ETC . Now you want to start customizing it. Let's face it, why go through rooting your phone if you wouldn't tweak it. Now it's time to change it's fonts. Which font would you choose? There are several methods to change your phones fonts.
These include using:
Adb command,
Apps - like Hifonts, ifonts Font installer Etc.
and doing it manually using a root explorer.

Many forums have explained extensively how to use these methods. But many people have complained of bricking their phones by using these methods. Some go as far as recommending font changing Apps that don't brick phones.
It's worth stating that IT'S NOT THE APP THAT BRICKS YOUR PHONE. IT'S THE FONT YOU'RE TRYING TO USE.

So the question is: What types of fonts would brick phone? That question has remained unanswered till date. But no more!!
I'm going to tell you the types of fonts you must avoid. Most android stock fonts comes with Roboto regular, Roboto bold and Roboto italics. Herein lies the key Why some fonts work pretty fine while others send your phone to a bootloop. (I.e. hanging on the phones logo )

The size of the stock fonts are less than 90kb each, and that's the secret. Apart from the STYLE of the font, fonts that are quite BIG (over 100kb would most likely brick your phone. So before applying any font use any regular file manager to check the SIZE & STYLE of the font.
If after following these measures a font still bricks your phone, Just restore the backup your created and your phone would be back to normal. Alternatively Google " Auto Font Unbricker " and follow the instructions. It works like magic

Remember, to every rule there's an exception so don't be over ambitious, be smart and make any changes at YOUR OWN RISKS. I would not be held responsible for any damage to your phone.
For those that have successfully changed their phone's font comment with the name and size of the font you used.

Maybe you didn't know there was a time when scrolls were used. That's several scrolls for the entire Bible. Then the codex came... now we've got books. So time would Come when hard copy books would be rare.
