Religion / Re: Can A Christian Filled With Holy Spirit Interpret This? by timothycel(m): 9:46pm On Jun 11, 2013
If you say so, but in terms of the bible tongues and interpretation (Prophecy) work in a specific manner. I havent seen this described here. You cant read tongues and interpret them, 2 or 3 Prophets who the Holy Spirit has come upon are used by God to deliver a message, one must speak in a tongue and another interpret it. 1 Corinthians 14.

What if my interpretation is that you are in danger and need to fast for 3 days? Who do you believe? And the next person says something else?
Religion / Re: Black Christians, What Racial Image Do You See When You Imagine... by timothycel(m): 7:00pm On Jun 11, 2013
What is the colour of a soul? Something with no physical properties? What colour is the air? Can you tell if certain air has been breathed by a black person or white person?

Peoples souls were created in the beginning but made a little lower than the angels. Angels were made before people, before there was even an earth, before there was something called race. The question of God and colour in my mind is like asking do they take their coffee with or without milk in heaven. Coffee is an earthly thing, so are our bodies.

God specifically says that no image should be made of him.

God doesnt belong to a certain people, he chose to show/reveal himself to the Israelites. The Israelites belonged to God, as do the descendants of edom, canaan, ishmael etc.

God is not our friend and as such shows no favouritism based on race etc. He shows favour to those that obey his commands. Jews who didnt obey were punished but God heard the prayer of Cornelius a Gentile man because he was Holy before God.
Religion / Re: Christians: A Few Questions About The Holy Spirit by timothycel(m): 6:33pm On Jun 11, 2013
The Spirit came upon the Jews at Pentecost, it came upon the Gentiles (Greeks & Romans - white people) in Caesarea when Peter went to Cornelius. There was a gap in the different nations receiving the Holy Spirit, first were the Jews and then the Gentiles. It was transferred from person to person via the laying of hands by the relevant people who had the powers to do so (Peter was the custodian of the Spirit, Acts 2,8,10 he gave people powers to baptise etc).

Jews according to their Law would never mix with Gentiles of any Race Matthew 10:5. Jews including Peter never laid hands on Gentiles and never baptized any. Paul was the custodian of the Holy Spirit for the Gentiles. When they laid their hands on people they would receive the spirit. So there needs to an unbroken chain of laying of hands to receive the Holy Spirit from Paul if you are a Gentile and Peter if you are a Jew.

In the bible no people from Africa have received the Holy Spirit, in fact a man of great faith who had made the journey to Jerusalem from Ethiopia (Acts 8} did not receive the Holy Spirit nor was he baptised with it. He was just put in a puddle and then returned home, even though his faith was greater than that of the Jews. (Phillip didnt have the power to baptize with the Holy spirit which is why Peter was called for.

Who is the Spirit? The Spirit of Truth, who tells us the truth. The Spirit that Speaks Gods words and not his own. The Spirit that speaks through the Prophets in accordance with 1 Corinthians 14. The Spirit that reminds us of Gods Law because we are forgetful. The Spirit that can be put to the test to determine its authenticity in 1 Corinthians 14:22-25, that should prophecy in our presence so that we may believe in accordance with the scriptures.

NB tongues is not a sign for unbelievers, tongues can be spoken by anyone. Prophecy is the real true test according 1 Corinthians 14.
Religion / Re: A Must Read! Jesus Is Not A Christian – Pastor Femi by timothycel(m): 5:26pm On Jun 11, 2013
Jsmyth has it right there, Jesus is the Christ. He was in fact a Jew from the time he was born until he died. His death and resurrection is what gave rise to Christianity.
Religion / Re: Is It Scriptural For A Woman To Teach In The Synagogue? by timothycel(m): 5:20pm On Jun 11, 2013
Because christians generally dont follow Gods Law. Only when it is convenient or fits in with their lifestyle.
it is very clear, woman shouldn't be teaching in the temple. In fact they should be in complete silence when they are in the temple 1 Corinthians 14:34 & 35. To disregard this, is to disregard Gods Law.

solidbroda: Excuse me sir, why is it that our pastors in the Church speak in tongue and they don't tell us the meaning?
However, can you speak in tongue and interpret it?

You cant speak in a tongue and interpret it at the same time.

one person should speak in tongues and another should interpret those tongues.

This should all happen at the same time through the Holy Spirit.
