THE Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), on Saturday, disclosed that the Roving Team of the Federal Operations Unit, Zone C has seized Container with number MRSU 3040288 found to be carrying military hardwares on Aba- Port Harcourt Road. According to Attah, “When the container was opened on Friday for inspection, we were shocked to see that some of the pictures of the seizure were already online. “So to avoid an embarrassing scenario where unscrupulous individuals will start posting online what is in or not in the seizure, I had to quickly ask for details of the seized item. A press briefing by the Controller, Federal Operations Unit, Zone C will be conducted in the cause of the week to give further details of the seizure “As of now, when the container was taken to Owerri for proper examination in the presence of the representative of the Owner, the followings were discovered inside: “Eleven bales containing new sets of sawn military camouflage. TheSunUK – DONALD Trump is preparing to bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities as early as next month with America’s allies expected to play a key role, it was reported. The US president tore an agreement earlier this year designed to prevent Iran developing nuclear weapons, claiming the Islamic republic had broken the deal. Earlier this week, Trump warned Iran it would suffer ‘consequences’ if it threatened the United States. Sources in the Australian government have told the ABC, the country’s military facilities would play a role identifying targets as would those of Britain. The UK and Australia are part of the so-called ‘five eyes’ intelligence partnership that also includes Canada and New Zealand, though the latter two would not play a role. Analysts from the little-known spy agency Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation would also be expected to play a part. A senior security source told the ABC there was a difference between providing accurate intelligence and analysis on Iran’s facilities and being part of an attack mission. “Developing a picture is very different to actually participating in a strike,” the source said. “Providing intelligence and understanding as to what is happening on the ground so that the Government and allied governments are fully informed to make decisions is different to active targeting.” The Australian Prime Minister said he didn’t believe the US was preparing for a military confrontation. “President Trump has made his views very clear to the whole world, but this story … has not benefited from any consultation with me, the Foreign Minister, the Defence Minister or the Chief of the Defence Force,” he said. The UK’s Ministry of Defence declined to comment. What has Donald Trump tweeted about Iran? On July 22, Trump has warned Iranian President Hassan Rouhani he will face dire consequences for threatening the United States. Trump tweeted about the dangers to Iran of making hostile threats after Rouhani made inflammatory comment. The Iranian president had said: “America must understand well that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace and war with Iran is the mother of all wars.” Tweeting in capital letters, furious Trump responded by saying: “NEVER EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKE OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE.” In response, Rouhani said: “American must understand well that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace and war with Iran is the mother of all wars.” What was the Iran nuclear deal? The deal was an agreement between the Islamic Republic and a group of world powers aimed at scrapping the Middle Eastern country’s nuclear weapons programme. It saw Iran agree to eliminate its stockpile of medium-enriched uranium by 98 per cent. According to the deal, Iran would receive relief from the US, European Union, and the United Nations Security Council on all nuclear-related economic sanctions. The agreement was reached on July 14, 2015, and the world powers signed it in Vienna. However, on May 8, 2018, President Trump announced the US will withdraw from the agreement – which he has repeatedly called “insane” and ridiculous”. The America’s withdrawal from the agreement mean crippling economic sanctions will once again be placed on Iran – further heightening tensions between the two countries. Contrary to those claims, Melaye’s relatives and many senators have told SaharaReporters that he was never kidnapped but only staged a walk into a bush to avoid being charged before a Kogi High Court. Although Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West, resurfaced on Friday to claim he “spent 11 hours in the wilderness”, SaharaReporters can confirm that he was never kidnapped. Melaye was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday before the Magistrate court in Abuja for alleged gunrunning, but the trial could not hold due to the claims by Senator Ben Bruce, quoting Melaye’s brother, that he had been abducted by unknown gunmen. On Friday, he wrote on Twitter: “I thank God once again for escaping another dangerous attack. I also thank Nigerians for their prayers and show of Love. Spent 11 hours in the wilderness traumatized but God preserved me. God is the best and in whom ONLY I trust. They will continue to try. WE SHALL OVERCOME!!!” Contrary to those claims, Melaye’s relatives and many senators have told SaharaReporters that he was never kidnapped but only staged a walk into a bush to avoid being charged to court. Spurs have announced two test events ahead of Liverpool's visit for the 62,000-seater stadium's first Premier League game on September 15 SPURS have revealed their new ground is called ‘Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’ – a decision quickly mocked on social media. The club have announced two test events ahead of Liverpool’s visit for the 62,000-seater stadium’s first Premier League game on September 15. Spurs fans have many reasons to feel chuffed with their new £850million home — not least because it has its very own MICROBREWERY. And queuing for a pint shouldn’t be a problem, with one bar set to be 86.8 metres long. Crucially, they can pour 10,000 of them a minute. Those willing and able to splash the cash can watch the players through a giant glass wall in the tunnel, then pick the cheeses they want to scoff at half-time. And for those who miss the old days of standing on terraces, Spurs should be able to convert 7,500 seats into safe-standing areas in just one hour, according to The Times. This premium concourse will provide space for networking while providing lots of chicken The Tunnel Club allows fans to see their players head back to the dressing room through the glass But how do fans feel about the new name? Some point a finger at a lack of imagination. Others will be delighted that — with NFL games, concerts and eSports coming to the stadium — Spurs haven’t yet flogged the naming rights. Effectively, it is their own brand that will be promoted. But they are forgoing income from naming rights worth around £15m a season. That could change over the coming weeks, however, if chairman Daniel Levy gets the right offer. A Spurs statement read: “We are delighted to unveil our new stadium brand identity. The Tunnel Club is where paying punters can watch the players tunnel through glass “As well as becoming a new, world-famous home for Tottenham Hotspur, our new stadium will also stage NFL matches, concerts and other major events, as we look to create an iconic global sports and entertainment destination in Tottenham. “Our new stadium will currently be known as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the ‘A’ of the word ‘Stadium’ stylised to create an arrow pointing north, to represent our proud North London heritage. “Further nods to our history can be found throughout the stadium, with club mottos adorning the elevations of the building along with our distinguished cockerel crest cast in concrete around the stadium perimeter. “Inside, you will find feature bars such as The Shelf and The White Hart, as well as the polished concrete floors made from crushed aggregate taken from our beloved former home, White Hart Lane.” Some supporters are not having it. Not necessarily Spurs fans, but… See more photos and video of the new stadium here: https://naijatimes.xyz/tottenham-announce-name-of-new-stadium-and-fans-think-it-is-very-boring/

Social media giant Facebook has yet again made changes to its advertising policy. This time, modifications have been made to policies targeted at financial products. In effect, the company has announced that it will allow pre-approved companies to post advertisements for cryptocurrency-related financial products on its platform, a reversal of a prior ban. According to Facebook, the change in policy is to allow marketers to advertise their products while also ensuring they are not unsafe or misleading to its user base. In January 2018, the company had announced a blanket ban on all cryptocurrency-related advertisements across its suite of services. The policy was enforced after numerous reports confirmed the misleading nature of advertisements promoting investments in cryptocurrency and digital tokens. Marketers were employing sharp tactics to create misleading advertisements and trick investors into believing that they could double or even triple their investment. To combat this, Facebook rolled out a controversial blanket ban on all crypto and ICO advertisements. A Softer Approach The recent changes will make it easier for approved advertisers to publicise crypto offerings. Any advertiser looking to publish a crypto advertisement will have to submit an application. The process will also involve an audit of the company’s registration, licenses obtained and an undertaking stating whether or not the token is publicly traded on any exchange. Facebook will also enforce a thorough background check. If there are no red flags raised during the process, the marketing campaign will go live across Facebook’s services. The social networking giant has clearly acknowledged that while not every application will be accepted, it is willing to listen to feedback. Should there arise a need to further liberalize the policy, Facebook will announce it in due time. Meanwhile, users can report any misleading financial promotion they come across on the platform. Twitter, on the other hand, continues to impose a similar ban on crypto advertisements. Reddit and Google also have policies that prohibit the publicity of crypto-related offerings on their platforms. PASTOR in charge of Province, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Oyo Province 13, Region 21, Oyo State, Pastor Samuel Awobode, says giving back to the society through the ‘Christian Social Responsibility’ is fulfilling one of the visions of Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the general overseer of the church. “It is his heart’s desire that the Church must go beyond the pulpit if we want to fulfill the mandate of our Lord Jesus Christ by impacting the lives of people and communities where we operate. “There cannot be better evangelism than providing food for the hungry or water for the thirsty, and visiting the sick and those in the prison,” he noted. Pastor Awobode stated this during the kickoff of the distribution of exercise books and First Aid boxes by the Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) team of RCCG Oyo Province 13, Region 21 at the United Christian Secondary School, Omi Adio, Ibadan, last week Wednesday. He said Oyo Province 13 of the RCCG believes that financing education should not be left in the hands of government alone. “We believe that the Church can as well assist the government in building a strong educational standard; and this is why we deemed it fit to distribute a total of 5,000 exercise books and well-equipped First Aid boxes across seven secondary and primary schools in four local government areas in the state. Speaking at the event, the Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Professor Niyi Olowofela, said the School Governing Boards policy inaugurated last year by the state government to bring community leaders, faith-based organisatons, old students association and the parent teacher association on board to support education and management of institutions had been yielding enormous results. He said about N2.8 billion had been injected into various secondary schools in the state in terms of infrastructure development from the SGBs. Olowofela disclosed that the Oyo State government had also started the renovation of 100 secondary schools with about N2.8 billion, while at the primary schools level it had also commenced renovation, procurement of educational tools, digging of latrines and provision of water services with about N3.7 billion. Olowofela, who doubled as one of the pioneer student of the United Christian Secondary School, Omi Adio, Ibadan, founded in 1976, received the exercise books and First Aid boxes on behalf of the school’s management. He commended the team for the immense contribution to the educational development in the state, as he challenged other faith-based institutions to also support various school systems in the state. The head of department in humanities, Deacon Adeoye Olalekan, appreciated the kind gesture of the team on behalf of the principal, Pastor Babajide O. E; staff and students of the school, and promised that the management would make proper use of the materials. …Nigeria, Niger sign MoU President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday hailed the move by Nigeria to export crude oil from Niger Republic. He also welcomed the setting up of a refinery in Katsina state that will make use of “stranded crude” from Niger Republic. The two countries on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. At the ceremony, President Buhari thanked the Niger delegation for considering Nigeria as a partner on what he observed as a mutually beneficial strategic initiative. According to him, Nigeria and Niger have had excellent relations for several decades as neighbours sharing a long border with common cultural and historical ties. Nigeria, he said, sees the cooperation on crude oil export from the Republic of Niger and construction of refinery facilities in Katsina State as a “win – win” for both nations. He said: “The initiative will not only provide a reliable market for the stranded crude from the Niger Republic but will also provide petroleum products for Nigeria, as it aggressively pursues its aspiration on petroleum product self-sufficiency. “In addition, it is my hope that the current frontier exploration efforts in the Northern part of the country (Chad Basin, Gongola Basin, Sokoto Basin, Bida Basin and Benue trough) will also result in the provision of additional hydrocarbon inflow to the corridors of the proposed pipeline and a potential refinery around Kaduna axis. “I am happy that several productive engagements held between the Nigerian and Nigerien authorities have resulted in the positive agreements to progress with activities on this important project. “This project will be private sector driven with the full support of the governments of both countries and I am happy to understand that several expressions of interest from prospective investors are already being received,” he said. He also announced the setting up of a steering committee to be chaired by the Nigerian Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachiku, while the alternate chairman is the Nigerien Minister of Petroleum, to provide strategic leadership, direction and governance oversight for the project. He also said that a Senior level Joint Technical Team has been selected based on competence to develop the implementation roadmap and strategy on both the refinery and pipeline projects. He said that the team will be led by Nigeria’s Engineer Rabiu Suleiman supported by the DG Hydrocarbon of Niger Republic. Buhari said he expected that by December 2018, the group will come up with a detailed roadmap and guideline leading to actual execution of the projects. He directed that the detailed roadmap should cover the following: Bankable feasibility studies for both the Refinery and pipeline projects; Optimal project site, pipeline routes and details; Security plan and selected consortia of investors for both the refinery and pipeline projects. The President assured of Nigeria’s commitment to pursuing “this partnership with vigour and determination.” In his address at the occasion, Kachiku said Buhari has personally driven the initiative, which he said was propelled by the sole desire to create a more favourable investment opportunity in Nigeria’s downstream sector and encourage cross border economic development. The occasion was witnessed by the President of Niger Republic, Issoufou Mahammadou. Speaking on when the refinery will start, an oil and gas investor, Ibrahim Zakari said “I think the two presidents have already mentioned everything. It is going to be private driven by investors-100 percent private driven. We are one of the investors who are willing to invest almost 2bn dollars. “The funds are coming from abroad, us, Canada, India and the middle east. It’s going to be a 50 thousand barrel refinery then we will scale it up to 100 thousand with the crude coming from Niger Republic. On the time frame, he said “It will take 3-5 years to complete the refinery, it’s a Modular refinery. It will create 2500 direct employment and over 10 thousand indirect employment. It will cover not only Katsina and the North but the whole of Nigeria.” Credit – The Nation Newspaper Source: https://naijatimes.xyz/buhari-welcomes-moves-to-import-crude-from-niger-republic/

The poster includes the message 'go to hell Mark', and is part of a campaign dubbed #OpTheWorld Sixgill, an online cybersecurity firm, revealed the threats to the Daily Star – as ISIS appears to ramp up their hacking operations. A number of other websites have been targeted – some successfully – according to Sixgill. The so-called United Cyber Caliphate (UCC) recently came together as several pro-ISIS hacking groups. https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/NINTCHDBPICT000422677168.jpg?w=960 And their activities increased since May, reports from Sixgill say, with East Asian government websites forced offline by their efforts. The hacker’s latest propaganda calls for other groups to target Facebook. In one particular grotesque image Zuckerberg appears beheaded, with a red “hacked” message. The group has also shared screenshots which claim to be of hacked Facebook pages. Sixgill told Daily Star Online: “We assume that ISIS is targeting Facebook to retaliate against its measures to censor pro-ISIS content and groups, and on more general level because Facebook is seen as a Western symbol.” Syrian troops celebrate liberation of ISIS ‘capital’ by doing donuts in tanks… just as terrorists did when they took it The Sun Online has approached Facebook for comment. The ISIS-linked hacking group came to light last year after appearing to insight murder of well known politicians, celebrities, religious leaders and Muslims who have spoken out against the terror group. We reported how the UCC hacking group had drawn up hit lists and released video messages threatening the US President Trump, Brits and thousands of others. The cyber hacking arm of Isis has proved adept at spreading the group’s sick propaganda, including snuff videos of hostages being killed in inhumane ways Earlier this year we reported how almost 400 Brit jihadis who fought for ISIS in Syria are now back in the UK – but just one in ten have been prosecuted. Ministers were told to “urgently toughen our terror laws” after the explosive figures were revealed in Parliament. “None of our targets survived. I killed one guy at Fadeyi area of Lagos. Another one at Hassan area, one at Ajeh area. Each time we killed someone, Brother Sodiq would pay me ₦10,000 but he would pay the others ₦20,000 each. I don’t feel bad after killing anyone because I see it as a job I am being paid for." A 20-year-old lady who confessed to killing at least four people within Lagos State says she feels no remorse for killing, as it is a job for which she is paid. Mariam Abiola, who also confessed to being a member of ‘Eye’ confraternity, said this on Monday when she was paraded along other members of the alleged cultic group at the Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja, Lagos. She told journalists present at the parade that she charges N10,000 for each killing but kills members of rival cults for free. She claimed to have run away from her home in Abeokuta, Ogun state, hoping for greener pastures in Lagos but she was instead initiated into cultism by one Mr. Sodiq. “I ran away from my house in Lafenwa Abeokuta to Lagos, to look for work. I met one Mr. Sodiq when I got to Lagos. Mr. Sodiq took me to his house at Ilasamaja area of Lagos. He was the one who introduced me to the Eiye cult,” she said. “He took me to a herbalist, who gave me a black substance to eat. He told me that their work was about killing people. He gave me a gun and taught me how to shoot. I learnt how to shoot by shooting on the wall. I shot on the wall three times before I learnt how to shoot. Brother Sodiq gave three of us guns and pictures of persons to kill. He trained three of us. Two boys and myself. “I have killed four persons. Each time I wanted to go for the killing, I usually wore a white gown and a white veil (Hijab). Brother Sodiq usually showed us the target’s house. We went to the houses at night. The two boys would scale the fence and open the gate for me. We would go straight to the apartment and shoot at the target at close range. “None of our targets survived. I killed one guy at Fadeyi area of Lagos. Another one at Hassan area, one at Ajeh area. Each time we killed someone, Brother Sodiq would pay me ₦10,000 but he would pay the others ₦20,000 each. Sarri-Ball revolution is well and truly underway as Jorginho plays incredible role in 1-0 pre-season friendly win over Perth Glory The Sun UK – NEW Chelsea star Jorginho had a debut to remember, completing an astonishing 98 passes during his debut against Perth Glory. The Italian midfielder played the first half of Maurizio Sarri’s maiden game at the helm. And the incredible stat means Jorginho averaged a completed pass every 27 seconds during the 1-0 win in Australia. The 25-year-old had Blues fans drooling when he arrived in a £57million deal from Napoli earlier this month. Jorginho was widely expected to link up with Premier League champions Manchester City instead. But he snubbed Pep Guardiola at the final hour in favour of a Stamford Bridge switch once former boss Sarri had been confirmed as Antonio Conte’s replacement. And supporters couldn’t help themselves from praising Jorginho’s first performance in a Chelsea shirt, with one saying: “Damn Jorginho controls that midfield as if he has been there for a long time.” Another wrote: “In his first 10 minutes in a Chelsea shirt, Jorginho averaged a pass every 18 seconds. Can’t wait for the season to start. Sarri-ball.” One frustrated City fan fumed: “Ffs Jorginho is unreal man, we should have went all out for him.” A fair Manchester United fan added: “Jorginho is the closest thing to Michael Carrick you will find. Fair play for Chelsea for snapping him (up).” Source: https://naijatimes.xyz/jorginho-makes-incredible-chelsea-debut-with-pass-every-27-seconds-and-fans-are-very-excited/

When it comes to sex, there’s so much misinformation floating around that it’s hard to know what—and what not—to believe. Here are the cold hard facts about 11 lies you’ve been told about sex. LIE 1: AN INTACT HYMEN IS A SIGN OF VIRGINITY. A woman can break her hymen by having sex—or by doing gymnastics, horseback riding, or performing any number of other physical activities. Or, she could have been born without one. Women can also have an intact hymen and still be sexually active. The thin, flexible membrane reveals nothing about a woman’s virginity; in fact, experts say its importance is little more than a social construct. LIE 2: MEN WITH BIG FEET ARE BIG … EVERYWHERE. The average male penis size is five inches—and studies show that there’s little correlation between shoe size and, well, your size. LIE 3: SOME FORMS OF SEX ARE SAFER THAN OTHERS. You can’t get pregnant from MouthAction, but that doesn’t mean you can’t contract sexually transmitted diseases from the act. Any time you refrain from using a barrier method of contraception (condoms, dental dams, etc.), you’re at risk for the same scary infections you tend to associate solely with intercourse. LIE 4: ONLY YOUNG MEN DEAL WITH PREMATURE EJACULATION. It’s commonly viewed as a “young man’s problem,” but premature ejaculation is actually a chronic condition that affects individuals of all ages, with no increase or decrease in rates as you age. LIE 5: THE PILL MAKES YOU GAIN WEIGHT. Convinced your birth control made you put on a few extra pounds? Think again. According to doctors, there’s little scientific evidence that the pill causes weight gain. Due to a variety of factors, women tend to get heavier with age—a phenomenon they sometimes (wrongly) attribute to oral contraceptives. LIE 6: MEN THINK ABOUT SEX ALL THE TIME. A recent study found that half of men think about sex less than 19 times a day—which is about the same frequency that men think about food. LIE 7: SEX BURNS A LOT OF CALORIES. It might feel like a strenuous aerobic workout, but scientists say that a 150-pound man burns a paltry 3.5 calories per minute during sex. If this number sounds like a lot, keep the following fact in mind: He burns one-third that amount of energy watching TV. LIE 8: ONLY MEN HAVE WET DREAMS. One prominent survey found that nearly 40 percent of women have woken up from a vivid dream due to an orgasm. LIE 9: MEN DON’T NEED THE HPV VACCINE. The human papillomavirus (HPV) can cause cervical cancer in women. But did you know it can also cause penile cancer in men, and oral and anal cancers in women and men? HPV is so common that experts recommend young girls and boys alike receive the HPV vaccine (even though the vaccine is heavily marketed toward women). The vaccine is safe, and it helps protect both genders from future exposure. LIE 10: WOMEN DON’T LOOK AT PORNOGRAPHY. Past media surveys have found that one in three visitors to adult websites are, in fact, female. LIE 11: WOMEN ARE MORE SEXUALLY FLUID THAN MEN. One national study showed that both men and women engage in sexual activity with partners of the same sex at about the same rates—and not all of them self-identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual. Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo wants the club to lower his valuation to approximately £89m so the likes of Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain can realistically buy him this summer. The Portugal international is reportedly no longer on speaking terms with Madrid president Florentino Perez and wants to leave the Bernabeu after eight years in the Spanish capital. Ronaldo believes Perez has backtracked on a promise to increase his salary after a stunning year in Madrid that has seen Ronaldo guide the club to a La Liga, Champions League and FIFA World Club Cup treble. Madrid believe the five-year contract they handed to Ronaldo in November 2016 is reflective of his status as the club’s biggest player but Ronaldo wants parity with Neymar and Lionel Messi – who have since signed larger deals. Ronaldo’s release clause stands at £887m – meaning the only way he could leave Madrid is at the end of his contract. However, he’s told the club that he wants his valuation to be lowered to closer to £89m so that clubs can come in for him, according to the Daily Record. The report claims Ronaldo’s representatives have told both Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain that the forward will ‘fight’ to leave the Bernabeu this summer and he hopes to negotiate an exit. United have long been linked with a move for Ronaldo and the Portugese superstar was keen on a return in 2013 before Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement. The word ‘ Vitamine’ meaning a vital amine was proposed by a Polish Researcher, Dr. Cacimir Funk, in 1911 to designate a new food substance which cured beri-beri. Other terms were proposed as new factors were discovered. But the word vitamin , with the final ‘e’ dropped, met with popular favour. Vitamins are potent organic compounds which are found in small concentrations in foods. They perform specific and vital functions in the body chemistry. They are like electric sparks which help to run human motors. Except for a few exceptions, they cannot be manufactured or synthesized by the organism and their absence or improper absorption results in specific deficiency disease. It is not possible to sustain life without all the essential vitamins. In their natural state they are found in minute quantities in organic foods. WE must obtain them from these foods or in dietary supplements. Vitamins, which are of several kinds, differ from each other in physiological function, in chemical structure and in their distribution in food. They are broadly divided into two categories, namely, fat-soluble and water-soluble. Vitamins A, D, E and K are all soluble in fat and fat solvents and are therefore, known as fat-soluble. They are not easily lost by ordinary cooking methods and they can be stored in the body to some extent, mostly in the liver. They are measured in international units. Vitamin B Complex and C are water soluble. They are dissolved easily in cooking water. A portion of these vitamins may actually be destroyed by heating. They cannot be stored in body and hence they have to be taken daily in foods. Any extra quantity taken in any one day is eliminated as waste. Their values are given in milligrams and micrograms, whichever is appropriate. Vitamins, used therapeutically, can be of immense help in fighting disease and speeding recovery. They can be used in two ways, namely, correcting deficiencies and treating disease in place of drugs. Latest researches indicate that many vitamins taken in large doses far above the actual nutritional needs, can have a miraculous healing effect in a wide range of common complaints and illnesses. Vitamin therapy has a distinct advantage over drug therapy. While drugs are always toxic and have many undesirable side effects, vitamins , as a rule are non-toxic and safe. The various functions of common vitamins, their deficiency symptoms, natural sources, daily requirements and their therapeutic uses are discussed in brief as follows : Vitamin A Known as anti-opathalmic, vitamin A is essential for growth and vitality. It builds up resistance to respiratory and other infections and works mainly on the eyes, lungs, stomach and intestines. It prevents eye diseases and plays a vital role in nourishing the skin and hair. It helps to prevent premature ageing and senillity, increases life expectancy and extends youthfulness. The main sources of this vitamin are fish liver oil, liver, whole milk, curds, pure ghee, butter, cheese, cream and egg yolk, green leafy and certain yellow root vegetables such as spinach, lettuce, turnip, beets, carrot, cabbage and tomato and ripe fruits such as prunes, mangoes, pappaya, apricots, peaches, almonds and other dry fruits. A prolonged deficinecy of vitamin A may result in inflammation of the eyes, poor vision frequent colds, night blindness and increased susceptibility to infections, lack of appetite and vigour, defective teeth and gums and skin disorders. The recommended daily allowance of vitamin A is 5,000 international units for adults and 2,600 to 4,000 international units for children. When taken in large therapeutic doses, which are usually 25,000 to 50,000 units a day, it is highly beneficial in the treatment of head and chest colds, sinus trouble, influenza and other infectious diseases . It is also valuable in curing night blindness and other eye diseases as well as many stubborn skin disorders. This vitamin can be given upto 1,00,000 units a day for a limited period of four weeks under doctor’s supervision. In a recent year-long study, huge doses of vitamin A given twice a year reduced death by about 30 per cent among Indonesian children. This has raised the hope in the fight against a significant cause of childhood mortality in developing countries. B COMPLEX VITAMINS There are a large variety of vitamins in the B group, the more important being B1 or thiamine, B2 or riboflavin, B3 or niacin or nicotinic acid, B6 or pyridoxine, B9 or folic acid, B12 and B5 or pantothenic acid. B vitamins are synergistic. They are more potent together than when used seperately. THIAMINE Known as anti-beberi, anti-neuritic and anti-ageing vitamin, thiamine plays an important role in the normal functioning of the nervous system, the regulation of carbohydrates and good digestion. It protects heart muscle, stimulates brain action and helps prevent constipation. It has a mild diuretic effect. Valuable sources of this vitamin are wheat germ, yeast, the outer layer of whole grains, cereals, pulses, nuts, peas, legumes, dark green leafy vegetables, milk , egg, banana and apple. The deficiency of thiamine can cause serious impairment of the digestive system and chronic constipation, loss of weight, diabetes, mental depression, nervous exhaustion and weakness of the heart. The recommended daily allowance for this vitamin is about two milligrams for adults and 1.2 mg. for children. The need for this vitamin increases during illness, stress and surgery as well as during pregnancy and lactation. When taken in a large quantity, say upto 50 mg. , it is beneficial in the treatment of digestive disorders, neuritis and other nervous troubles as well as mental depression. For best results, all other vitamins of B group should be administered simultaneously. Prolonged ingestion of large doses of any one of the isolated B complex vitamins may result in high urinary losses of other B-vitamins and lead to deficiencies of these vitamins. RIBOFLAVIN Vitamin B2 or riboflavin, also known as vitamin G, is essential for growth and general health as also for healthy eyes, skin, nails and hair. It helps eliminate sore mouth, lips and tongue. It also functions with other substances to metabolis carbohydrates, fats, and protein. It is essential for synthesis of sex hormones, cartisone, thyroxin and insulin. It is contained in liver, fish, poultry, peanut, whole wheat, green leafy vegetables, dates, figs, prunes and tomato. A deficiency can lead to skin eruptions, frequent stools, mental depression, insomnia, chronic headaches, digestives disorders and anaemia. The recommended daily allowance is 12 to 20 mg. for adults and 4.8 to 12 mg. for children. Large doses of this vitamin say upto 100 mg. with each meal, preferably together with other B group vitamins, affords relief in case of migraine and high blood pressure caused by nervousness, high cholesterol and arteriosclerosis. PYRIDOXINE Vitamin B 6 or pyridoxine is actually a group of substance – pyridoxine, pyridoxinal and pyridoxamine – that are closely related and function together. It helps in the absorption of fats and proteins, prevents nervous and skin disorders and protects against degenerative diseases. The main sources of this vitamin are yeast, wheat, bran, wheat germ, pulses, cereals, banana, walnuts, soyabeans , milk, egg, liver, meat and fresh vegetables. Deficiency can lead to dermatitis, conjuctivitis, anaemia, depression, skin disorders, nervousness, insomnia, migraine headaches and heart diseases. The recommended daily requirement is 2.0 mg. for adults and 0.2 mg. for children. This vitamin used therapeuticlly from 100 to 150 mg. daily can relieve painful jonts and the discomforts of pregnancy and pre-menstrual symptoms. Vitamin B6 is now the most intensively studied of all vitamins. Researches are on the threshold of a number of promising developments involving treatments of various ailments with this vitamin. They include hyperactivity in children, asthma, arthritis, kidney stones, blood clots in heart attack victims and nervous disorders. FOLIC ACID Vitamin B9 or folic acid, along with vitamin B12 is necessary for the formation of red blood cells. It is essential for the growth and division of all body cells for healing processes. It aids protein metabolism and helps prevent premature greying. Some authorities believe that folic acid is contraindicated in leukemia and cancer. PANTOTHENIC ACID Vitamin B5 or pantothenic acid helps in cell building, main- taining normal growth and development of the central nervous system. It stimulates the adrenal glands and increases the production of cortisone and other adrenal hormones. It is essential for conversion of fatty and sugar to energy. It also helps guard against most physical and mental stresses and toxins and increases vitality. The main sources of this vitamin are whole grain bread and cereals, green vegetables, peas , beans, peanuts and egg yolk. It can be synthesised in the body by intestinal bacteria. A deficiency can cause chronic fatigue, hypoglycemia, greying and loss of hair, mental depression, stomach disorders , blood and skin disorders. The minimum daily requirement of this vitamin has not been established, but is estimated to be between 30 and 50 mg a day. The usual therapeutic doses are 50 to 200 mg. Piles Piles or haemorrhoids are among the most common ailments today, especially in the Western world. They are a varicose and often inflammed condition of the veins inside or just outside the rectum. In external piles there is a lot of pain, but not much bleeding. In case of internal piles there is discharge of dark blood. In some cases the veins burst and this results in what is known as bleeding piles. Symptoms Pain at passing stools, slight bleeding in the case of internal trouble and a feeling of soreness and irritation after passing a stool are the usual symptoms of piles. The patient cannot sit comfortably due to itching, discomfort and pain in the rectal region. Causes The primary cause of piles is chronic constipation and other bowel disorders. The pressure applied to pass a stool to evacuate constipated bowls and the congestion caused by constipation ultimately lead to piles. The use of purgatives to relieve constipation, by their irritating and weakening effect on the lining of the rectum, also result in enlargement and inflammation of veins and bleeding of the mucus lining. Piles are more common during pregnancy and in conditions affecting the liver and upper bowel. Prolonged periods of standing or sitting, strenuous work, obesity and general weakness of the tissues of the body are the other contributory causes of piles. Mental tension is also one of the main causes of harmorrioids. Persons who are always in a hurry often strain while passing stools. They rush through defecation instead of making it a relaxed affair. The pressure thus exerted by the anal muscles affect the surrounding tissues. The extra rectal pressure and the resultant congestion of veins ultimately leads to haemorrhoids. There is probably a hereditary factor also involved in the development of piles. Following Are The Top 5 Home Remedies For Piles Radish Juice Radish can help in curing piles. Take radish and grind it or grate it to extract its juice. Consume this juice two times daily. Initially, you must take one fourth cup juice. Slowly increase its amount and during the next month you can take half-cup juice. Hot And Cold Treatment Hot and cold treatment helps in giving relief in piles. Sit in such a way that you can soak the anus in tub filled with water. The water should be warm. Do this remedy for ten minutes twice daily. This is an effective remedy for external piles coming out of anus. Apply the oil outside the anus. Apply warm compress in this area. You can also sit in a tub filled with warm water. Baking Soda Baking soda is a natural ingredient that is easily available. Its external application can help in treating piles quite well. Apply baking soda outside the anus. Do this regularly. The use of all medicines should be limited. But this is especially true of antibiotics, for the following reasons: 1. Poisoning and reactions. Antibiotics not only kill bacteria, they can also harm the body, either by poisoning it or by causing allergic Many people die each year because they take antibiotics they do not need. 2. Upsetting the natural Not all bacteria in the body are harmful. Some are necessary for the body to function normally. Antibiotics often kill the good bacteria along with the harmful ones. Babies who are given antibiotics sometimes develop fungus or yeast infections of the mouth or skin. This is because the antibiotics kill the bacteria that help keep fungus under control. For similar reasons, persons who take ampicillin and other broad-spectrum antibiotics for several days may develop diarrhea. Antibiotics may kill some kinds of bacteria necessary for digestion, upsetting the natural balance of bacteria in the gut. 3. Resistance to In the long run, the most important reason the use of antibiotics should be limited, is that WHEN ANTIBIOTICS ARE USED TOO MUCH, THEY BECOME LESS EFFECTIVE. When attacked many times by the same antibiotic, bacteria become stronger and are no longer killed by it. They become resistant to the antibiotic. For this reason, certain dangerous diseases like typhoid are becoming more difficult to treat than they were a few years ago. In some places typhoid has become resistant to chloramphenicol, normally the best medicine for treating it. Chloramphenicol has been used far too much for minor infections, infections for which other antibiotics would be safer and work as well, or for which no antibiotic at all is needed. Throughout the world important diseases are becoming resistant to antibiotics— largely because antibiotics are used too much for minor infections. If antibiotics are to continue to save lives, their use must be much more limited than it is at present. This will depend on their wise use by doctors, health workers, and the people themselves. For most minor infections antibiotics are not needed and should not be used. Minor skin infections can usually be successfully treated with mild soap and water, or hot soaks, and perhaps painting them with gentian violet. Minor respiratory infections are best treated by drinking lots of liquids, eating good food, and getting plenty of rest. For most diarrheas, antibiotics are not necessary and may even be harmful. What is most important is to drink lots of liquids, and provide enough food as soon as the child will eat. Do not use antibiotics for infections the body can fight successfully by itself. Save them for when they are most needed. https://healthgopro.xyz/importance-of-limited-use-of-antibiotics/

A mouthful Are you the one everyone points at whenever there’s a nasty smell at work? Do you get embarrassed by your always bloated and uncomfortable stomach? Have you ever thought that the food you’re eating could be responsible for it? Surprised? See below eight foods that can give you major gas and make you fart regularly. 1. Fruits Fruits like apples, pears, plums and peaches contain a high amount of sorbitol, a type of natural sugar which the body finds hard to digest. Many fruits also contain fibre, which produces gas, so that apple you eat every morning might be why you keep getting the dirty look every time you drop one at work. 2. Dairy foods Yep, your favourite ice cream or cheese or that cup of milk you like to have for breakfast might also be responsible. Dairy foods contain a lot of lactose, which when consumed in excess can produce a lot of gas. You should consider cutting down on your intake of either. 3. Beans Well duh. Beans are a high source of fiber and protein, which take longer to digest, therefore causing the body to release gas occasionally. 4. Beer The yeast contained in beer can make for some pretty awful farts. So yeah, you do love your beers, but you probably should consider cutting short on your intake of it to save yourself the continuous ‘oh ohs’. 5. Chewing Gum Bet you didn’t expect this one. That’s right, chewing gum makes you swallow far more air than you should which stores up in your stomach, eventually finding its way out the back door as it cannot remain in there for too long. 6. Nuts As much as nuts are healthy, bear in mind that they could also be the reason why you won’t stop letting out air. You might want to watch out for cashew nuts especially. 7. Oatmeal Oatmeals – which you probably love having for breakfast with some milk – are very healthy, as they’re high in fiber, but you should know that you might be running to the restroom constantly to let out that uncomfortable gas in your stomach. 8. Sodas Yes, your love for sodas and other carbonated foods might be another reason why you always mess up the air. Consider swapping those for juice or water as the artificial sweeteners and fructose contained in sodas – which are not particularly healthy – are harder to digest, therefore will make you pass gas regularly. http://www.newspapersng.info/8-foods-you-might-want-to-stop-eating-if-youre-constantly-farting-at-work/

A Fan Painted Mark Zuckerberg’s Face On Her Nails, And Here’s What Happened Next Mark Zuckerberg is a famous dude and, as fans do with anyone who is famous, they like to show their appreciation in … inventive ways. One particular fan of the Zuck decided to really nail down her love for the Facebook founder. On Thursday, Zuckerberg shared a manicured hand on his Instagram that features the Facebook logo, the “heart” and “like” reactions, and, naturally, Zuck’s likeness. Whether he was more enamored or surprised by the gesture isn’t known, but he definitely liked it enough to share: A post shared by Mark Zuckerberg (@zuck) on Jun 22, 2017 at 4:58pm PDT The image is accompanied by a caption that indicates this is the first time Zuck’s seen something like this and the hashtag #fcs2017. Most likely, this Zuck-adorned hand belongs to someone who showed up at the Facebook Group Summit in Chicago (which is what the #fcs2017 denotes), but it’s still unclear whose hand it actually is. A post shared by Mark Zuckerberg (@zuck) on Jun 22, 2017 at 10:36am PDT We just hope whoever those nails belong to gets a whole lotta likes on their Facebook posts. They’ve earned it. How To Look Younger – Easy Tips To Follow The first thing you should do to look younger is to acknowledge that there are good things in store for you, and you deserve to have those. So its all about setting your mind to get to your end. You must value the thought that almost all good things in life are brought into fruition with the right attitude and positive thinking. So now, are you set to defy aging and look young? If you are, then these age-defying tips will surely help you look youthful easily. Tip 1 No matter what you do, whether you have a demanding schedule or just being lazy in your cozy home, make sure you are getting enough sleep- and a good one at that. Your eyes will first tell if you have had enough sleep. A pair of eye-bug-free and sparkling eyes definitely makes you look younger. But how many is the suggested sleeping duration? Perhaps you were brought up thinking that you should sleep at least 8 hours a day. Well, you should not. A new study says that those who sleep 6-7 hours live longer and healthier. Too much slumber is not good for you. In fact, sleeping for five hours is better than sleeping three hours more than that. To have a good sleep, take some natural soporifics. These are substances that can induce sleeping. Milk is a very good example. Sex and a little aerobic may also help you sleep well. Tip 2 Keep you hair short. A long hair puts in more years to your appearance, actually making you look like a tired and worn-down witch. Trying a shorter do can improve your youthfulness. Tell your hairdresser to give you side swept bangs to expose your beautiful face. Adding layers can also make our hair look lively and shinier. A little highlight may also do. Putting on a darker hair (dark brown or black) does not only make you younger, but also coats up those grey hair. Tip 3 Live in a clean environment. People who live older like the centenarians have some surrounding things in common: little stress, unpolluted air, good water, and unspoiled nature. Planting more trees in your area and planting more plants in your garden can help you provide cleaner air. More plants in the area mean more oxygen to breathe. Remember that what we breathe is the exact thing they exhale, and vice versa. Tip 4 Do not put a lot of makeup. Yes, makeup can make you look pretty. But its amount, composition, and its style can make or break you. Keeping makeup light won’t make you look like a villain. Use more pastel colors and those with lighter tones instead of the dark antagonistic-like colors. Also try lipsticks with brown shade. These would make you look more natural and a lot of ears younger Tip 5 Take care of your teeth. Ever notice there are a lot of old people who only have false teeth? This is because as we age, our body absorbs and stores less calcium (which also explains why old women are prone to osteoporosis). So avoid losing your teeth permanently. Brushing every after meal is the most basic yet the most helpful habit for a good-looking set of teeth. Use teeth whitening products that can make you teeth white and shiny. Coffee and tea can stain your teeth instantly so a brush after is really helpful. Going to the dentist at least twice a year is very important. And never forget to drink at least two glasses of milk a day, like what we teach to the real young ones. Source: http://www.healthandwealthgenius.com/look-younger-5-top-tips/
