Now in an ideal world and circumstance, judging from how visiting a Voodoo man isn't my cup of tea, I would have been expected to advise this individual against the line he had chosen to tow in search of a way to boost his business.

To enable you guys to understand how I was incapable of talking Mr out of his planned move I'd love to give a Lil background into his personality.

Mr, as I pointed out had lived in North America for about two decades (you'd never know until he mentions)and decided to set up these businesses and settling back in Nigeria to tend to them himself, which in my opinion was a great and smart move.

However, Mr has got a huge problem with trusting anyone else aside himself, not his staffs absolutely no one. It is thus to this end that Mr, who owns this almost 2 million dollar hotel would run the laundries himself, go to the market for grocery shopping for the kitchen himself, buys drinks for the bar himself. To crown it all up, Mr would eat from a local Buka and not from his hotel kitchen. These might sound like a made up story but guys trust me I have got nothing and absolutely nothing to benefit or lose from telling this tale. It is a whole truth and an issue I see on a daily. A guest could order for noodles and the kitchen had run out of it, the cook will come to oga and mention before he'd give them money to buy the two packs of noodle and eggs down the road.

I also noticed that workers hardly did more than tops 2 months at his before they jumped shipped which I think was one of the fundamental reasons his business isn't running at full capacity until I began to piece together his personality from our conversations and how he relates with everyone around him. From reading and researches, I came upon the mental condition (Narcissistic Personality Disorder), so I read up on it and true to the letter, every single symptom or characteristics someone with this condition exhibits was exactly what I see from this individual every time we meet or converse. You can google the condition NPD to get an idea.

This acquaintance believes he is the beginning and end of knowledge which he duly showcases most times when we are in a discussion. If you have a contrary view to his or argues against him, he'd resort to name callings. So it is usual to allow him to wallow in his warped belief and knowledge for peace-sake.

From the above, you'd understand how and why it would have been a lost case talking him against his planned move.

This case hangs on my neck like an albatross and every time I remember it like I did today, guilt and regret take the better of me and I can't help but feel sorry for the innocent patrons that'd end up getting muddled up in something they know nothing about.

I just thought to let this out as an eye-opener to you guys and also to join me in praying for my error of judgement and commission.
