In relationships, we get carried away with the moment especially when the affair is just starting, not being able to draw the line between our feelings and reality of life often leads to 'I wish I'd known' syndrome. Family / Re: The Nonsense Called Divorce Settlement by Titobay(f): 2:58am On Mar 25, 2011
I bet you will forever remain in Nigeria where anything goes. If you happen to find yourself in a civilized country where women are respected not just for being women but the fact that they raise children better, your children, not foster children, then you will know divorce settlement is not nonsense. Its in Nigeria that a man will misbehave, get away with it and abandon the children and their mother to hibernate and start another family elsewhere without looking back. Later, the likes of you will come out and say 'area boys' are disturbing you. You forgot that such boys have parents somewhere who chose not to be part of their lives. Wake up man. Instead of worrying your head about divorce settlement, why not desire and pray for a happy marriage and family. Sure you'd be better off. You need to read this http://hubpages.com/t/1aafe8

Then you need a self assessment, a review of your corporate attitude, your office etiquette. Romance / Re: Relationship/sexual Jealousy by Titobay(f): 4:23am On Oct 17, 2010
Relationship management is a matter of personal opinion, decision and attitude to life. If a man or woman decide to develop 'i don't care attitude' to his or her love life, I think we should respect his or her opinion. The western world has really trivialized the institution of marriage and relationship in general and this is spreading across the globe. Whatever opinion you hold about your affairs, the important person in the whole affair is you and what you stand to benefit from the relationship. Some are just out for fun and nothing serious, so let's accommodate. At least we'd learn a thing or two about diversity in thoughts.

Good luck folks!

Religion / Re: Is It True That Islam Allows by Titobay(f): 4:00pm On Sep 08, 2010
toba, I know you have never seen nor read a Quran before but you uphold what you hear people say. Lets be careful in our utterances because we shall all be held accountable for our sayings and our deeds in the final analysis with the Most Gracious God. The Bible enjoins you to seek the truth and not spread blasphemy on the land.

Religion / Re: Is It True That Islam Allows by Titobay(f): 3:55pm On Sep 08, 2010
I really don't know what the source of the UK documentary comes from but my Quran which is d most authentic of all sources says in Chapter 4 verses 22 -  24

"And do not marry those women whom your fathers married, except what has already occurred. Indeed, it was an immorality and hateful to Allah and was evil as a  way. (This verse is trying to chastise and condemn what has happened in the past)

Prohibited to you in marriage are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your father's sisters, your mother's sisters, your brother's daughters, your sister's daughters, your (milk) mothers who nursed you, your sisters through nursing, your wives' mothers and your step daughters under your guardianship (born) of your wives unto whom you have gone in (i.e. had sexual intercourse). But if you have not gone in unto them, there is no sin upon you. And also prohibited are the wives of your sons who are from your own loins, and that you take in marriage two sisters simultaneously, except for what has already occurred unknowingly. Indeed Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.

And also prohibited to you are all married women except those your right hand possess. This is the decree of Allah upon you. And lawful to you are all others beyond these, provided that you seek their hand in marriage with gifts from your property, desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse. So for whatever you enjoy of marriage from them, give them their due compensation as an obligation. And there is no blame upon you for what you mutually agree to beyond the obligation. Indeed Allah is ever Knowing and Wise."

I believe the above verses are self explicit. I know language is a barrier in Islamic religion but when we seek the truth, we shall find. Arabian tradition and custom is not the same with Islamic practice. There's a lot of mix up these days and we need to be very careful.

I thank you for taking the pains to find out the truth.

Keep me posted.

RE: what is SHRM, am an undergraduate of HRM , i would like to know if there is a profesional body for HRM apart from CIA?

Cuteisme,

In response to your answer, SHRM is the HR body in the US. The full meaning is Society for Human Resource Management. We have a body here in Nigeria but you can google SHRM and get more details about their activities. If you really want to be deep in HR career, you need global affiliate aside from CIPM. There's also CIPD, the UK body which is the Chartered Institute Personnel Development

Hope this is helpful
Career / Re: Human Resource Professionals: by Titobay(f): 7:25pm On Apr 20, 2010
Yemmight,

Its obvious you work for a global organisation for you to have such a Recruitment Policy. A lot of young Nigerian companies are yet to face realities of the importance of HR and that why some structures crumble. I have worked in and Advertising company for 9 yrs and i know the mentality of business owners when it comes to HR activities, only a few can see through the vision of their companies. However, it takes doggedness and ability to make them see the need to do certain things backed with facts and figures.

However, i thought to share the tips below on Managing Performance for Managers. ENJOY IT!

Managing Performance for many managers is the holy grail – how exactly do you get a disparate group of team members working effectively together to achieve common goals and still keep them motivated?

One area we are always trying to improve is the way people perform on the job, and it is vital that we understand the
elements that make up an individual’s performance so we can influence them and, ideally, set some parameters for them to work around.

That is where the Performance Equation comes in, and its applicability is so generic, it can be discussed and utilised in virtually any industry and with any individual.

The Equation is: Performance = (K plus S) divided by I multiplied by A

The Performance Equation states there are four elements that are common to all human performance:

Knowledge (K) and Skills (S) - The Ability to Perform

To achieve high performance, individuals must know how to do the job (their knowledge) and be able to do the job (their skills).
The gaining of knowledge and skills creates the ability for individuals, teams, and organizations to perform to an acceptable
and, consequently, higher level.

Interference (I) - The Opportunity to Perform

To achieve high performance, people must have the opportunity to use their ability to perform. Interference amounts to those
aspects of a business’s infrastructure and culture that hinder the use of ability. A training program to develop teamwork, for
example, may be useless if an aggressive culture and negative attitudes exist within the team, as participants learn that,
"This is not the way we do things around here!"

Attitude (A) - The Willingness to Perform

To achieve high performance, people must be willing to use their knowledge and skills and willing to overcome the Interference
that will block their performance. Attitudes, the fourth element of performance, determine if people are willing to use their
existing abilities, are willing to develop new abilities, and are willing to overcome the interference to their performance. As
Henry Ford said, "If you think you can, or you think you can't, you’re right!"  So, individual attitudes are a basic element of
all human performance.

The relationship between the elements of performance has a tremendous effect on results. When ability and willingness are
met with opportunity, dramatic and sustainable performance can be achieved.

Think about how you perform as a manager. Do you know the knowledge and skills your people need to achieve their goal? Have
you worked on the interferences that exist within your team, so that you achieve your goals without having to force change on the
team? Do you have the attitude that sets the example of what you are looking for?

The performance equation will help you achieve the department goals because it sets your people up for success.

Religion / Re: Why Just One God? by Titobay(f): 6:49pm On Apr 20, 2010
There can be no other god but God. If you imagine the creation of the heavens and earth by multiple gods then imagine the chaos, veto power, selfish self centred gods who would rather have you stooping under them to get the basic benefits of life like air, rainfall etc. Imagine the global world today, if each of the so called leaders were to be gods in their own right, perhaps you would not be alive today to tell the story.

God says in Q57 vs 3 that 'He makes the night to enter into the day and the day to enter into the night'. Perhaps if we have several gods, a lot of us would only experience daylight and never know the other side or vice versa. The earth is part of the creation of God, perhaps other gods would create their own abode to claim supremacy but for as long as they cant, for as long as they live and die like mere mortals, they must bow to the utmost superiority in power.

Q36 vs 22 - 23 says 'And why should i not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned, Should i take other than Him, false deities while if He the Most Merciful intends for me some adversities, their intercession will not avail me at all nor can they save me, '

Logically, why would i call an outsider to intervene for me when i have built strong relationship with the Supreme Being. No! Third party is not aloud. There is no other god but God, the Greatest!
Family / Re: How Do You Cope With A Jealous Hubby? by Titobay(f): 6:07pm On Apr 20, 2010
[font=Lucida Sans Unicode]I have read so many comments about this jealousy issue and quite frankly i suggest you lay off the forex thing for now if you truly value your marriage. However, i need to know if you are a full time housewife or you have another job by the side. Perhaps you are lonely most times and you found comfort in a supposed harmless online chat. If this is the case, communicate more with your husband and you both should have more time together however, if this is not the case, then you are looking for trouble where there is none. Perhaps you need someone to talk to privately. Feel free to mail me on datingpub@gmail.com, we can discuss woman to woman.

Now my puzzle here is if the reverse were to be the case i.e if the man happens to be in this lady's shoes, how would this forum react. Just curious and cant wait to hear from you all
