Human Rights Lawyer Slams NAFDAC's Alleged Raid on Onitsha Traders

Human rights lawyer Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor has condemned the trending video showing staff of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) allegedly looting people's shops at the Onitsha Igbougwu market in Anambra State.

In a statement on Saturday, Sir Ejiofor called on the government to investigate the matter urgently and ensure that victims receive justice.

According to Ejiofor, he was deeply saddened while watching a female trader allege that NAFDAC officials looted her goods.

"I am deeply saddened by the viral video showing a female trader alleging that her shop was looted by officials of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). This alarming footage exposes a grave injustice that demands urgent action," he said.

Ejiofor further stated that he had recently condemned the indiscriminate closure of shops under the guise of combating counterfeit drugs in Igbougwu, Onitsha. He added that in his recent statement, he emphasized that while the fight against fake pharmaceuticals is crucial, it must be carried out through lawful and ethical means that do not jeopardize the livelihoods of innocent traders. "Unfortunately, our worst fears have now materialized."he added.

In his previous public statement, he urged security agencies and NAFDAC to investigate their personnel implicated in these allegations.

"However, despite the gravity of the situation, no action has been taken.

This latest evidence—captured on video—clearly exposes officials entrusted with regulatory enforcement, allegedly engaging in outright looting, betraying public trust.

The heart-wrenching testimony of this devastated trader is both troubling and unacceptable.

Disturbingly, information available to us confirms that this innocent woman is currently receiving medical care at an undisclosed hospital after suffering severe shock from this traumatic incident.

This is not just an economic assault but a direct attack on her dignity and well-being.

"I therefore call upon the relevant security agencies to conduct a swift, transparent, and comprehensive investigation to identify and hold accountable those responsible for this reprehensible act. NAFDAC must urgently assess and provide commensurate reparations for this devastating loss, ensuring that justice is not only served but also felt by the victims. Justice delayed is justice denied. Immediate disciplinary and legal measures must be enforced to restore public confidence in our institutions.

Such misconduct has no place in a society striving for justice, peace, and economic stability.

The livelihoods of hardworking citizens must be protected, and those who abuse their positions of trust must face the full weight of the law. If we fail to act decisively, we risk enabling a culture of impunity that will only deepen public distrust in our institutions," the statement stated.

Human Rights Lawyer Slams Anambra Govt Over Unlawful Detentions Of Citizens

Titus Maduako Eleweke

Human rights lawyer and counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Esq. (KSC), has described as unlawful for the Anambra State government to detain citizens for five weeks without charging them to court.

Ejiofor, in a statement on Friday, stated that the arbitrary arrest and detention of individuals in a private facility controlled by the state government constitutes a violation of their human rights.

As a human rights activist, Ejiofor explained that he is compelled by his conscience to speak out whenever the rule of law is trampled upon.

He emphasized that it is his unwavering duty to hold those in power accountable and demand adherence to due process in governance.

"Tomorrow, March 15, 2025, marks five full weeks since several citizens of Anambra State were arbitrarily arrested and detained in a private facility controlled by the state government. Shockingly, they have not been charged with any offense or brought before any court of law. This is a flagrant violation of their fundamental rights.

More disturbing is the fact that these individuals were not placed under the custody of the police, the Department of State Services (DSS), or even the military for investigation. Instead, they have remained unlawfully detained without any formal explanation from the state government. Regrettably, some misguided individuals are applauding this clear infraction of the law.

For five weeks, the Anambra State Government has failed to provide any official briefing or statement to the public on the status of these detainees. This lack of transparency is unacceptable. We are often quick to criticize the Federal Government or its agencies for abuse of power, including enforced disappearances and illegal detentions. Yet, here we are, witnessing similar acts at the state level," he said.

According to him, security is a collective responsibility, and he will always champion active citizen participation in combating insecurity by providing credible intelligence to security agencies.

The statement partly reads:"It is on record that I was among the fearless voices that condemned the heinous activities of criminals masquerading as agitators when they were wreaking havoc and unleashing terror on our people. At the height of these atrocities, I publicly urged Governor Soludo to deploy all legal means to decisively tackle these elements. I emphasized that they were not genuine agitators but criminals who should be treated as such.

At that time, many who now attack those speaking the truth were too weak and afraid to voice their opinions. I, on the other hand, put my life, my family, and my staff at risk by standing against these criminals. I am fully aware that intelligence reports indicated several plots to eliminate me, yet I remained steadfast, trusting in God’s protection.

That being said, I want to make my position crystal clear: I, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, will never support anyone proven to be aiding or abetting criminal activities in our land. If there is verifiable evidence implicating or linking any individual to the commission of any crime, the law must take its course.

I have previously commended the Anambra State Government’s Agụnechemba security outfit for its efforts in restoring order. The security outfit has done well in restoring some level of security in the state, and the Soludo administration deserves credit for its achievements. However, I have always stressed the need for professionalism and adherence to rules of engagement by security agents, to minimize casualties and avoid unnecessary errors.

For those misconstruing my stance, let me make it clear: I am not attacking the state government. I have consistently spoken out against infractions by the Federal Government and its agencies, and I will not hesitate to do the same when our own state government errs. Political affiliations or fear of the unknown should not prevent us from speaking truth to power. I admire Governor Soludo’s vision and commend his efforts, but respect for the rule of law must remain non-negotiable.

Anambra is a civilized state, and we must lead by example. When citizens are arrested for any alleged offense, they must be handed over to the appropriate security agencies, investigated, and, if necessary, charged to court within the legally stipulated timeframe when a prima facie case is established.

If, however, these detainees are not under investigation but are undergoing rehabilitation, the state government has an obligation to inform the public. If no incriminating evidence has been found against them, they must be released immediately and unconditionally.

We must collectively support and promote policies that enhance the well-being of our people while ensuring that governance remains anchored on justice, fairness, and the rule of law," he added.

TJ&GP Urges Anambra to Use Tax Money to Improve Market Facilities

Titus Maduako Eleweke

The Tax Justice and Governance Platform in Anambra State has urged the state government to prioritize providing social amenities to markets in the state to encourage tax payment.

The group stated that its findings indicate that most market traders are unwilling to pay taxes because the government has not provided adequate facilities in their markets.

This appeal was made during a visit to the Anambra State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Chiamaka Nnake, as part of the Tax for Service Project, implemented in partnership with the Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) and supported by funding from Oxfam Nigeria.

A member of the Tax Justice and Governance Platform, Alfred Ajayi, said that there are about 180 markets in Anambra State, and their findings in about 21 markets show they lack amenities such as drainage systems, fire services, modern toilets, CCTV cameras, solar lighting, and roads within the markets.

He explained that these deficiencies are some of the reasons traders find it difficult to pay taxes.

He also called for a tax awareness campaign to educate market traders on the importance of tax payment.

He said, “At Eke-Awka market in Awka, traders are yearning for fire trucks, solar lights, and boreholes. At the Electrical Parts Market, Obosi, they need fire trucks, boreholes, and modern toilet facilities. The International Building Materials Market, Ogidi, requires fire trucks, solar lights, CCTV, and VIP toilets.

“In Anambra North, Onitsha Main Market needs solar lights, modern toilet facilities, CCTV, and better roads both within and around the market. Ogbaru Relief Market is in need of a borehole, fire truck, concrete floors, and better roads within the market.

“In Anambra South, the Building Materials Market in Nnewi requires modern toilet facilities, a borehole, and solar lights. Ekwulobia is asking for a security van, solar lights, a borehole, and better roads within and around the new market. We believe that if the government pays closer attention to these markets, where a substantial portion of its revenue is generated, traders will be motivated to pay more, thus saving the government the huge amount spent on enforcement."

Ugochi Ehiahuruike, the Executive Director of the Social and Integral Development Centre (SIDEC), host of TJ&GP, recalled the team's contribution to the state’s IGR (Internally Generated Revenue) efforts.

“Before the inception of this project, the state’s total IGR was around 3.3 billion naira. However, after a while, it was able to generate 4.6 billion naira. Our awareness creation efforts contributed to that,”

“We will achieve our expected goal when more people pay their taxes. A major way to accomplish this is by investing part of the money generated from traders back into those markets. Traders have numerous needs that they look up to the government to address.

“Additionally, we discovered that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry needs a higher budgetary allocation and more timely releases to respond to these needs. In our report, we recommend that the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AiRS) sustain its engagement with citizens on tax reforms and innovations. They need to know what taxes they should pay, where to pay, and how to pay.

“We also recognize that your ministry is crucial in this process. If some of these needs are to be budgeted for, it can be achieved through your ministry,” she added.

In response, the Commissioner advised members of the Tax Justice and Governance Platform to extend their Tax for Service campaign to local government chairmen for optimal success.

She noted that local governments, by virtue of their financial autonomy, collect some revenues in the form of fees and levies, for which they must also be held accountable.

“I know that local government chairmen, officials of AiRS, and others have been meeting this year to agree on how to streamline the process to avoid multiple taxation, a concern citizens have raised. It would be beneficial for you to also interact with them so everyone appreciates the need to use the money generated for the common good. I hope this will lead to a roundtable meeting to brainstorm on this important matter,” she said.

Nnake described the project as complementary to the government’s efforts to increase locally generated revenue.

“The state appreciates your campaign, and we will review the report. However, I must reiterate that tax payment is an obligation under the law. When citizens fulfill that obligation, they can boldly ask their government for services and hold the government accountable for its duties.

“I know that those markets have needs, and we will look into them. The government is also providing other public goods across the state. The advocacy is for everyone to do their part, and the government will then be committed to fulfilling its responsibilities.

“People don't pay taxes for two main reasons: low awareness and trust issues. Many people believe that only those with money pay taxes. Additionally, there is concern about whether the money they pay will be used for their benefit.

“Fortunately, this government has shown how their money is working for them. The funds we use come from both the federal allocation and internal revenue. This shows that the significant investments across the state are a result of prudent management of limited resources,” Nnake added.

Paul Chukwuma and the Roadmap to Transform Anambra for the Common Good

By Titus Eleweke

Sir Paul Chukwuma, a potential governor of Anambra State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has vowed to focus on several key areas to salvage and improve the state for its social and economic development.

According to him, he is committed to making a significant difference in Anambra State if elected governor.

Given his track record in human resource development, he has demonstrated the capacity to bring smiles to the faces of ordinary people through his various private engagements. These private engagements have already brought joy to the community, and his assumption as governor will consolidate human capital development, which is core to the state.

Chukwuma strives to extend this impact to the public sphere through his leadership as governor.

Some of his specific plans are embedded in his vision of transforming the state into a more viable entity that would attract investors for productive ventures.

The general areas he aims to target in order to bring about positive change include:

Infrastructure Development: Chukwuma promises to prioritize the upgrading of infrastructure, particularly roads, healthcare facilities, and schools, which would improve the quality of life for Anambra's residents.

Economic Growth and Job Creation: He also plans to focus on fostering a vibrant economy by attracting investments, supporting local businesses, and promoting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). His efforts target promoting agriculture, a key sector in Anambra, which will create job opportunities for the youth.

Education and Skill Development: By enhancing the education system and improving access to quality education, Paul Chukwuma aims to focus on both primary and tertiary education to ensure a skilled workforce. Vocational training programs will also be emphasized to equip young people with practical skills for employment.

Security and Law Enforcement: He also promises to address the security situation through modern policing, community engagement, and creating employment opportunities to reduce youth restiveness. These efforts are vital for creating a stable environment conducive to development.

Healthcare System Overhaul: Chukwuma is committed to improving healthcare infrastructure and making healthcare services more accessible and affordable. Expanding rural healthcare services will be essential to reach more people.

Good Governance and Transparency: Chukwuma emphasized that he will focus on creating an inclusive government, promoting transparency in public spending, and fighting corruption to ensure that resources are properly managed for the benefit of all.

Environmental Sustainability: As Anambra State is prone to environmental challenges such as flooding, Chukwuma's strategic plan will focus on protecting natural resources, managing waste, and mitigating environmental hazards to improve the state’s resilience.

He stated that these areas of focus would contribute to his goal of salvaging and uplifting Anambra State, ensuring prosperity, peace, and sustainable development.

With this lofty vision, the APC faces the serious task of electing a credible, marketable candidate who resonates with the people of Anambra State. Despite the presence of opportunists who have joined the party to create division and, after successfully destabilizing the APC, will leave for another political party, Chukwuma stands firm.

He is a committed and loyal party member who has stood with the APC when others were abandoning it. His dedication to the party was highlighted by the National Women Leader and co-aspirants when the National Chairman visited Anambra State a few weeks ago. The APC needs to reward loyal members rather than prioritizing displays of wealth to influence votes during the primaries.

Anambra Governance: Soludo and Team Have Lost Focus

By Mokwugwo Solomon

"Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." The evidence of this notion, attributed to 19th-century writer Lord Acton, is clearly visible in the Anambra Government House in Awka, where Governor Charles Soludo has transformed himself into "Eze Onye Agwanam" (nobody must advise me).

When Governor Charles Soludo assumed office three years ago, expectations were high that things would work out well for Anambra State. With his promises to turn Anambra into the Dubai/Taiwan of Africa, no one would have imagined that anyone in the state would, for any reason, regret having the professor at the helm of affairs.

One of the issues that the governor must be ashamed of, and must regret engaging in, is his constant confrontation with the Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Anambra State, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (Fr. Ebube Muonso).

Fr. Ebube Muonso offered candid advice to Charles Nwa Mgbafor, and instead of the advice motivating the governor to sit up and readjust, he reacted angrily—going uncontrollably wild, to the extent that he is now spending Anambra State money, running into hundreds of millions of naira, to engage e-rats. One of these individuals, "Rev. Fr. Eustace Onyeneke," is reportedly paid heavily to write against Fr. Ebube Muonso as someone whose voice will carry weight.

Others benefitting from the humongous budget running into hundreds of millions for the "Operation Condemn Ebube Muonso" include Law Mefor, Izuchukwu Adichie, Chinedu Obigwe, Machi Pious Igwe, Mazi Opara, and others.

Fr. Ebube Muonso's "Sins"

The "sin" of Fr. Ebube Muonso that made Soludo go out of his way to make big promises to anyone who writes anything evil about the Catholic priest is that he speaks truth to people in power.

Soludo is not the only person in power that Fr. Ebube Muonso has confronted and rebuked for one reason or another. The priest is not known for rebuking authority when power is handled well. It is only Soludo who has decided to beat the drum of war among all those whom Fr. Ebube Muonso has rebuked.

Specifically, on January 1, 2025, Fr. Ebube Muonso, considering the alarming rate of insecurity in Anambra, called on Soludo, as the Chief Security Officer, to step up action against insecurity, or rather resign if he was overwhelmed.

This assertion was the initial straw that broke the camel's back! Before Ebube Muonso's advice, no day passed without one horrific news item or another in Anambra—whether it was murder, kidnapping, ritual killings, or cult violence. Under Soludo, Anambra was always on the headlines of national media platforms because of insecurity. In response to this, Ebube Muonso spoke, and a media attack was launched against him as a way of silencing him. Yet, he continued to speak until Soludo succumbed to pressure and formed "Operation Udo Ga-Achi," a crime-fighting security outfit.

When individuals linked to the killing of Anambra lawmaker Justice Azuka were arrested, justice was not served on them before news came that they escaped from police custody, still in handcuffs. The story was incredible, and nobody spoke. So, Fr. Ebube Muonso spoke again—requesting Soludo, as Chief Security Officer, to give an account. Again, Soludo became distracted. Instead of engaging and confronting the police to find the escaped murderers, the governor rather rejigged his media workers, pumping more money into attacking Fr. Ebube Muonso.

Why Fr. Ebube Muonso Cannot Be Cowed

A society whose leaders have no person or persons to advise them constructively is a destroyed society. Soludo, no doubt, wants to lead a destroyed Anambra State. Traditional rulers, who are the custodians and fathers of the people, are looked upon to offer constructive advice to people in political power such as Governor Soludo. Regrettably, the monarchs have been cowed to such an extent that they fear even uttering a word, as it could result in the withdrawal of their certificates the next day.

Since its inception, Anambra monarchs had a tradition of electing their leadership themselves; however, Soludo has decided that he will handpick whoever will be the chairman of the traditional rulers' council. In recent times, the governor withdrew certificates from some traditional rulers who conferred titles on people without his permission. Some monarchs were sacked, and new ones installed in communities in Anambra. Why should such people be expected to complain against political leadership?

Other citizens empowered by law to act as watchdogs are members of the state assembly. Regrettably, they hardly perform this function in Anambra State. Some are sympathetic to the governor due to their party affiliation, while others are afraid because it is the governor who gives them money, and they lack financial autonomy. Some of them, particularly those in leadership positions in the state assembly, reportedly signed undertakings that have caged them both directly and indirectly.

Many church leaders, who should speak out over societal ills, are no longer interested in correcting the ills of society. Should Fr. Ebube Muonso also keep quiet?

Biblical Perspective on Fr. Ebube Muonso's Confrontation of Persons in Authority

Though some individuals working to protect the interests of Governor Soludo because of financial incentives have provided their interpretations of the priest's approaches, their perspectives are driven by the flesh, not by scripture.

A priest has the responsibility to pray for people in positions of authority, as Fr. Ebube Muonso does in accordance with scripture. However, priests and prophets must confront those in power when they take things for granted.

In the Bible, many prophets and individuals confronted and criticized those in positions of authority. Jesus Christ confronted the Scribes and Pharisees for their hypocrisy; John the Baptist rebuked King Herod for living with his brother's wife. In the Old Testament, Shemaiah confronted King Rehoboam and the House of Judah, Jeremiah rebuked Israel for turning their backs on God, Micah criticized corrupt leaders, Amos rebuked the sins of the Northern Kingdom of Israel and announced God's punishment on them, Samuel rebuked King Saul for unlawfully offering a sacrifice, and Elijah confronted Ahab for his injustice and foretold his downfall.

No doubt, prophets often interpret their culture and historical moments from the perspective of the Divine, and their acts of interpretation often lead to social criticism.

I offer these perspectives for the likes of "Rev. Fr. Eustace Onyeneke" and Machi Pious Igwe, who claim to be Bible scholars but limit their knowledge to what Ebube Muonso must not say to Soludo.

Why Soludo Must Listen to Fr. Ebube Muonso's Advice

One fundamental problem Governor Soludo has as a person is pride and arrogance. He displays these traits wherever he goes. But the only thing that can save him is to listen to constructive criticism and also call his subordinates to order.

There is nothing wrong with Fr. Ebube Muonso telling Soludo to work harder in the area of security. Fr. Ebube Muonso has not told Soludo to pay salaries, fix roads, or promote education in the state, because the governor is doing all these. The security situation in Anambra State is dire, and concerned authorities must work hard or relinquish their offices. That is what the priest is saying—and that is the truth. There's nothing wrong with the priest telling the governor to resign if he is overwhelmed; after all, there are many world leaders more powerful than Soludo who resigned from power. For instance, on March 12, 2024, Ariel Henry, Acting President and Prime Minister of Haiti, resigned in the midst of a major security crisis in the country. Similarly, in 2024, Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, resigned following violent protests. These are just a few examples of world leaders who resigned in 2024 alone because of insecurity in their countries. Yet, Soludo not only clung to power amid the security crisis in Anambra, but also waged a media war against a Catholic priest who told him to sit up. That’s the all-knowing professor for you.

Why Soludo Must Call His Errand Boys to Order

History has proven that workers, friends, and associates of many leaders became the proverbial banana peels that ultimately led to their downfall. Governor Soludo has carefully selected the most inappropriate media aides in the history of Anambra State. They are not only inexperienced in their jobs but also pose a major relationship threat to the governor.

There are priests, politicians, and others who have criticized certain policies and programs of the governor, but instead of Soludo's aides highlighting the governor’s achievements and addressing the criticisms to silence the opposition, they launch media attacks—spending endless time and resources fighting. I cannot blame the likes of Izuchukwu Adichie and Mazi Ejiomofor Opara, who have moved from Andy Uba to Chris Azubogu, to Ifeanyi Ubah, to Willie Obiano, and now to Chukwuma Soludo. These young men have spent many years jumping from pillar to pole without caring to learn the basic tenets of their jobs. What they know is how to write "Ebube Muonso, Achikota Ekwe Onu," or "Ebube Muonso, liar," and so on. Is that how they intend to occupy office and consume Anambra people's money?

For Law Mefor, the elderly man must respect his age and academic qualifications by doing the right thing at any point in time. If his work as Information Commissioner is to abuse a Catholic priest who tells Soludo to sit up, it suggests that the separatist agitators' nzogbu nzogbu disposition still runs in his blood. He must purge himself to move forward.

Chinedu Obigwe, the self-styled Evangelist and media warrior, need not be dignified with a response, as he is not regarded as someone with a sane mind in Ogbaru, where he comes from.

One can only pity "Fr. Eustace Onyeneke" (if he is truly a priest) and Machi Pious Igwe, who also claims to be a Bible scholar, as they have presented themselves as commodities for sale.

There is no need to beg Soludo to either remove these characters or call them to order—the choice is his. It is already clear that they have become banana peels that will ultimately pull the governor down.

The reason for God's judgment on Eli is outlined in 1 Samuel 2:27-29, where a prophet tells Eli that he is going to be judged for the sins of his sons, because Eli did not do enough to stop them from doing evil. In 1 Samuel 2:29, God states that Eli honored his children more than he honored Him. It was for this reason that Eli was judged and ultimately destroyed.

If Soludo does not understand what the scripture says about reverence and relationship with prophets and priests, he should read Psalm 105:15 and 1 Chronicles 16:22. If the governor turns a deaf ear to the abuses his "small boys" heap upon Fr. Ebube Muonso, it means the judgment that came upon Eli will come upon him as well.

I read an article authored by one of the characters writing for the governor. In the article, the individual attacked Fr. Ebube Muonso for allegedly invoking the spirit of death upon one of the governor’s aides who repeatedly abused the priest. The writer was mocking what the charismatic priest said in a moment of anger. To him, such a curse was a joke.

According to the Bible in 2 Kings 2:23-25, Prophet Elisha cursed a group of children who mocked him, and as a result, two bears came out of the woods and attacked them—killing 42 of them. Essentially, the animals were used as a means of punishment for the children's disrespectful behavior toward the prophet. No one prays for anyone's death—fools bring death upon themselves.

Refuting Obigwe’s Claim that Soludo Gave Fr. Ebube Muonso a N100M Cheque

One is not entirely doubting the fact that His Excellency, Governor Charles Soludo, gave such money to Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, aka Fr. Ebube Muonso. But for what purpose? Obigwe himself gave the answer succinctly: he said it was to support road projects in Nkwelle Ezunaka, Ebube Muonso's community.

As a son who is always willing to give back to society, Fr. Ebube Muonso has singlehandedly constructed and reconstructed many roads, including in his hometown, using his personal money. If Soludo, out of gratitude and joy, decided to support the road projects, there is nothing wrong with that. He did not give Ebube Muonso money to buy food.

Haters have been maligning the priest for being wealthy. To me, that is not something people should complain about. Ebube Muonso is a product of Divine grace and favor. He is "possessed" by the grace of Divine multiplication.

One of Soludo’s writers hinted at the source of Ebube Muonso’s wealth. In fact, one Machi Pious Igwe, in his article, tried to draw comparisons between Fr. Ebube Muonso, Okite practitioners, fake pastors, and dibias, attempting to paint an ill picture of the priest, as though telling Soludo that Fr. Ebube Muonso should be arrested to explain the source of his wealth. I laughed! When the nza bird eats to the full, it wages war against its personal god.

Fr. Ebube Muonso, born in 1980 in Nkwelle Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, is the last born in a family of eight boys.

Having been blessed financially by God through the ministry, he singlehandedly built the multi-billion Naira Adoration Ground in Uke, Anambra State, where souls are won for Christ, and where those tormented by evil spirits are set free.

As a pioneer priest, he built Blessed Iwene Tansi Parish and Pilgrimage Center in just one year and a few months. He also built the multi-billion Naira Divine Rays British School in Obosi, and another multi-billion Naira St. John Vianney Science College in Igbariam, Anambra State. He established the Parraclet Table Water in Umuoji, among other ventures. In all these establishments, the priest employed thousands of people, helping to put food on their tables and aiding the state government in reducing both unemployment and crime rates.

As of the last count, Fr. Ebube Muonso has provided scholarships to 3,403 people across primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions. In fact, about 47% of students in his schools enjoy free education, including indigent and highly intelligent individuals.

Don’t Expect Fr. Ebube Muonso to Stop Attacking Erring Leaders

It is clear that Fr. Ebube Muonso will not stop challenging erring leaders until they amend their ways. No amount of intimidation or blackmail can deter him. The leadership of the Mother Church knows he is bold in telling the truth, and they will not stop him. Therefore, political leaders in this space should either do the right thing or learn to tolerate the priest!

Soludo often says, "If you see something, say something," but unfortunately, when Ebube Muonso sees and says that something is wrong in the state, this same governor attacks him. That is not the behavior of a good leader.

Akpoazaa CEO Marks 40th Birthday with Educational Pledge

Titus Maduako Eleweke

Glamour filled the air as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Akpoazaa Group, Dr. Frank Odinaka Igbojindu, celebrated his 40th birthday amidst fun and wine-clinking in Awka, the capital of Anambra State.

He commemorated his milestone, reflecting on his achievements, including significant milestones in his business over the last decade. Additionally, he celebrated earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Accountancy from the prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, last year.

Turning 40, he noted, is a significant moment in anyone’s life. For him, it represents a deeper meaning—a reminder of where he came from, the challenges he faced, and the grace that has brought him this far.

He shared that growing up in his village at Okija, a town in the Ihiala local government area of Anambra State, was not easy.
“Nothing was handed to me on a silver platter, and the environment was very adverse. I was raised in an environment where survival was a daily battle, and dreams seemed far-fetched,” he said.
However, through hard work and the grace of God, he refused to let these circumstances define his future.

During the celebration, he emphasized his Akpoazaa Foundation’s commitment to empowering the younger generation through education and skill acquisition in Anambra State and Nigeria.

Dr. Igbojindu expressed gratitude for the mercy of God that enabled him to reach 40 years, earn a PhD, and witness the foundation’s positive influence over the last ten years.

Since its inception, the foundation has organized the Best Brain Quiz Contest for over 3,000 students and provided scholarships to more than 100 students, ranging from primary to university level. Dr. Igbojindu also revealed that the foundation is partnering with De Imperial Philanthropic Family to help lift over 1,000 indigent students out of poverty by providing quality education up to the university level.

He emphasized that the greatest gift one can offer the younger generation to improve their lives is sound education. "Education is the best way to store wealth, and I am dedicated to offering scholarships while encouraging affluent individuals to invest in the education of younger people,” he said.

He urged everyone to prioritize education as the key to securing wealth and reducing youth restiveness in society. “Support for education is support for a better future. Support for education is support for an ideal life,” he added.

Dr. Igbojindu further stated that investing in education is an indirect way of preserving wealth for the future, countering the misconception that education is a scam. He believes that good education can solve half of both personal and societal challenges, ultimately fostering national development.

“At Akpoazaa Foundation, we strongly believe that education is the ticket to a better future in Nigeria. This is why we are working to correct the narrative that ‘education is a scam.’ We are investing in education and vocational training for indigent individuals in Anambra and the entire Southeast so that our youth can become educated, self-reliant, and contribute meaningfully to society,” he stated.

To mark his 40th birthday, Dr. Igbojindu announced that the foundation will introduce the Akpoazaa Media Factory, aimed at empowering 1,000 youths with essential skills to address critical gaps in the media industry.

He also revealed that the foundation will pay the school fees, JAMB fees, and WAEC fees for 1,000 indigent students.

According to him, the foundation will also hold a Southeast University Quiz Competition and Best Brain Competition to recognize the best graduating students at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

Dr. Igbojindu emphasized that the Akpoazaa Foundation is committed to fostering change and creating a better future for the youth. "We appeal for support from well-meaning individuals and organizations to help achieve this cause,” he concluded.

Anambra CP Pleads with Soludo to Assist in Upgrading Facilities at RRS

Titus Maduako Eleweke

Anambra State Police Commissioner, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has appealed to the state Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, to assist the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Formation in Akwuzu by upgrading its facilities to enhance its operational effectiveness .

Orutugu made the appeal over the weekend during a facility assessment tour of the RRS Formation in Akwuzu, which he conducted alongside the governor. He urged the governor to support the upgrading of facilities at the RRS, as it would help improve the unit’s efficiency in crime prevention and law enforcement.

According to the commissioner, the state and its immediate community need to provide the unit with essential amenities, such as water and electricity, to improve the welfare of personnel and inmates.

During the visit, CP Orutugu briefed the governor on the operational readiness of the command, particularly in its efforts to re-arrest the fleeing suspects involved in the heinous murder of Hon. Justice Azuka, a member representing Onitsha 1 Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly.

He also outlined the proactive measures being implemented to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

As part of these reforms, the commissioner mentioned that the command has commenced the reorganization of the RRS unit, including the systematic interviewing of suspects in custody.

He said the initiative aims to ensure proper accountability, uphold transparency, and reinforce the credibility of police investigations, thereby enhancing public trust in the criminal justice process.

According to him, the reorganization of the Rapid Response Squad is designed to improve the unit’s operational effectiveness in crime prevention and law enforcement.

He also informed the governor that the command is adopting a more structured and professional approach to handling suspects and is focused on strengthening evidence gathering, facilitating successful prosecutions, and enhancing overall security across the state.

In response, the governor commended the unit for its excellent performance in the state and promised to assist in upgrading its facilities.
Soludo said he will approve the necessary upgrades for proper policing of the state.

“I know the agility of the members of the RRS, and I acknowledge the sacrifices the police are making to ensure the maintenance of law and order in the state,” he stated.

Anambra CP: I Won't Betray the State

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Orutugu Ikioye, has vowed not to do anything that would offend the gods and the people of the state.

Orutugu made the statement on Thursday while clarifying the escape of two suspects involved in the kidnapping and killings of an Anambra State lawmaker.

“I am ready to beat my chest to the Anambra ground that I will not deceive Ndi Anambra. I will do my work as Commissioner of Police diligently, to the best of my knowledge,” he stated.

He explained that he called the media briefing to set the record straight, countering some misinformation circulating in the public.

“The purpose of this press briefing is to set the records straight on the two fleeing suspects involved in the murder of the late Hon. Justice Azuka, a Member Representing Onitsha 1 Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Anambra State. I will also highlight some of the breakthroughs of the Command within the period under review.

Let me reiterate the fact that this regrettable incident occurred two days before I assumed office on 10th February 2025 as Commissioner of Police in Anambra State.

Upon receiving the information on 18th February 2025, I decided to brief Ndi Anambra and Nigerians, as the Command under my watch shall ensure residents stay informed as the security situation evolves in the state.

This sad development motivated me to conduct a thorough investigation to gather the facts surrounding the incident.

My findings show that the incident took place on 8th February 2025 in Obosi. The two suspects, Ikemefuna Ossai from Delta State and Chinedu Okoli from Imo State, are among eleven suspects already paraded by the Command. However, Ikemefuna and Chinedu are not the principal suspects but were drivers for the notorious gang. They were assisting the Police Operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RSS) Akwuzu in arresting one Tochukwu Akolisa from Anambra State, who, according to the suspects, was one of the receivers/buyers of the victims' vehicles and belongings," he stated.

According to him, during the operation to arrest Tochukwu (the receiver), fled immediately upon seeing the Police Operatives, who were accompanied by Ikemefuna and Chinedu.

“It is regrettable that I was informed that Ikemefuna and Chinedu were driving the car when the operatives alighted, shot the receiver/buyer in the leg, and arrested him,” he said.

The CP added that the two other suspects took advantage of the situation and escaped from the scene with the vehicle.

“I was also briefed that during a hot pursuit by the Police Operatives, the suspects abandoned the car and fled into a nearby bush. The area was cordoned off, and all efforts to apprehend the fugitives proved unsuccessful.”

As the substantive Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, I consider it a priority to address this situation, re-arrest the suspects, and implement necessary measures to prevent similar incidents or related ones in the future.

I have briefed the Force headquarters on the situation and the actions taken, which include activating operational plans to re-arrest the suspects at large and initiating disciplinary proceedings against police personnel involved due to operational lapses,” he added.

CrimeIPOB Lawyer Commends Court For Clearing Edoziem Of Terrorist Charges by Titusele87(op): 2:19pm On Feb 20, 2025
IPOB Lawyer Commends Court for Clearing Edoziem of Terrorist Charges

Lead counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Sir Ifeanyi C. Ejiofor, has commended the Federal High Court 1 Owerri for its landmark judgment clearing Mazi Chika Edoziem of charges related to terrorism, insurgency, kidnapping, and violent criminal activities.

Ejiofor, in a statement on Thursday, expressed his happiness over what he described as a historic ruling at the Federal High Court No. 1 in Owerri, Imo State, presided over by His Lordship, Hon. Justice I.N. Oweibo.

Justice Oweibo delivered the landmark judgment in Suit No: FHC/OW/FHR/29/2024, between Mazi Chika Edoziem vs. Hon. Minister of Defence and Chief of Defence Staff, and consequently declared the wrongful designation of Mazi Chika Edoziem as a wanted person, terrorist, insurgent, kidnapper, and violent criminal by the Hon. Minister of Defence and the Chief of Defence Staff as illegal.

According to Ejiofor, the ruling affirms that the publication of Edoziem's name and photograph on March 22, 2024, in the Ministry of Defence's First Edition of 2024, labeling him a security threat, was done in gross violation of his constitutionally guaranteed right to human dignity and was therefore unconstitutional.

The statement further reads:

COURT DIRECTIVES AND COMPENSATION:

1. His Lordship further directed the Minister of Defence and Chief of Defence Staff to immediately retract the unconstitutional declaration of Mazi Chika Edoziem as a “terrorist,” “insurgent,” “kidnapper,” “violent criminal,” and “wanted person,” and to issue an unreserved public apology in two national newspapers to Mazi Chika Edoziem.

2. The court awarded ₦5,000,000.00 (Five Million Naira) in damages to Mazi Chika Edoziem for the infringement of his fundamental right to human dignity.

A TRIUMPH FOR THE RULE OF LAW

Notably, among the many names listed in the said notice, Mazi Chika Edoziem was the only one who successfully challenged this illegal publication and the inclusion of his revered name in the offending document. His global reputation as a peace advocate stands in sharp contrast to the blatant false allegations. This judgment is a strong statement against unjust profiling and underscores the importance of due process in security matters.

A CALL FOR ACCOUNTABILITY

Security agencies must focus on proper profiling to identify actual criminals rather than targeting innocent citizens. The real perpetrators of crime operate in known locations, and tackling insecurity requires collective responsibility beyond just the security forces.

APPRECIATION AND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to my dedicated colleagues in Chambers whose relentless efforts made this victory possible. Special thanks to Ezigbo Umuchineke for their unwavering support and prayers, whose peaceful conduct has enabled seamless defense in matters affecting genuine and peaceful agitators.

Above all, I thank Almighty God for His guidance and protection throughout the proceedings.

Justice has prevailed, and we march forward with renewed faith in the rule of law, even as we continue to move forward!

Benue House Accused of Undermining Judicial Independence

Titus Maduako Eleweke

Nigerian Human Rights lawyer Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor has described the recent action of the Benue State House of Assembly approving the removal of the state’s Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Maurice Ikpambese, over allegations of financial impropriety and abuse of office as an assault on the sanctity of judicial independence.

After the approval, the Assembly directed that the next most senior judge be sworn in as acting Chief Judge pending the outcome of an investigation into the allegations.

Ejiofor, in a statement, said the actions of the Benue State House of Assembly, culminating in the removal of the Chief Judge, represent a serious and blatant assault on the sanctity of judicial independence in the country.

According to him, disturbingly, even a Reverend Father has played a significant role in this overt coup against the judiciary's autonomy in the country.

He said such political maneuvers starkly highlight the erosion of moral standards within our political landscape.

He commended the proactive intervention of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) under the esteemed leadership of Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, in the matter.

"The NBA has rightly criticized the Assembly's actions, labeling them a 'brazen assault on the constitution.'"

Furthermore, the National Judicial Council (NJC) has unequivocally declared the removal of Justice Ikpambese as invalid, reaffirming his position as the Chief Judge of Benue State.

"It is imperative that legal practitioners involved in this unconstitutional act face appropriate sanctions as delineated in our professional code of conduct. We must not permit lawlessness and disorder masquerading as legislative processes to flourish within our democratic framework."
Enough is enough!

The Fear of Orutugu Anambra CP,the Deity is the Beginning of Wisdom

Titus Maduako Eleweke

The new Police Commissioner of Anambra State, Ikioye Orutugu, also known as "the lion," has made it clear that he is fully committed to combating crime and insecurity within the state.

Orutugu, which translates to "the deity," is a highly professional officer who has earned the name "Fear of Orutugu, the Beginning of Wisdom." He has stated that he is not asking criminals to fear him, but rather they should pray not to encounter him.

Since assuming office barely a week ago, Orutugu has continuously emphasized the importance of tackling criminal activities, particularly in light of the growing concerns over armed robbery, kidnapping, and other violent crimes in the region. Known within the police force as "the lion," he has stated that his focus will be on strengthening the police force, improving intelligence gathering, and collaborating closely with other security agencies to ensure that criminals are apprehended and brought to justice.

His leadership style is described as firm, with a focus on building stronger relationships between the police and the community, a key aspect of effectively addressing insecurity.

In addition, the Commissioner is working towards improving the welfare of officers, ensuring they are well-equipped and motivated to perform their duties. His efforts aim not only to address the symptoms of crime but also to tackle the root causes of insecurity in the state.

With his dedication and the robust measures he is implementing, Ikioye Orutugu seeks to restore public confidence in the state's security apparatus and create a safer environment for the people of Anambra.

In his first week in office, the new Commissioner has made significant strides in combating criminal elements, demonstrating a firm commitment to the fight against crime. He has visited all police formations, announcing the arrival of the lion and reassuring the public of the security of lives and property.

On his very first week in office, he visited flashpoints and crime scenes where criminals were holding hostages and successfully raided their hideouts.
It is very incumbent on various communities, government, and individuals to provide maximum support to help him rid the state of criminal activities and restore Anambra to its former glory.

The Commissioner and his officers cannot succeed alone without the support of the public, particularly in providing essential information to combat crime.

The new Commissioner, by every definition, stands out as a thoroughbred officer with a knack for fighting criminality. His crime-fighting efforts have earned him the nickname "the lion," and his reputation is summed up by the saying: "The fear of Orutugu is the beginning of wisdom."

The lion has arrived in Anambra State, and criminals must either stay away or turn over a new leaf.

Ifeanyi Ejiofor: Embodiment of Resilience in Justice Pursuit

Daniel Okonkwo

In the realm of law, where integrity, pliability, and indefatigable commitment to justice are the hallmarks of a true advocate, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor stands out as a formidable force. His career is evidence of his dedication to the principles of fairness, human rights, and the pursuit of justice, particularly for the oppressed and marginalized. A distinguished lawyer, Ejiofor has built a legacy of accountability, transparency, and legal brilliance, fearlessly defending those whose voices are often silenced.

Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor possesses all the quintessential strengths of an exceptional lawyer—astute analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, persuasive advocacy, and an unparalleled ability to build meaningful client relationships. His articulate nature and ability to draw logical conclusions, even from the most complex legal matters, make him a force to be reckoned with in Nigeria’s legal environment.

Law is not an abstract discipline; it directly affects people's lives. A lawyer’s impact extends beyond the courtroom, influencing the fate of individuals, communities, and even entire regions. Ejiofor has embodied this truth throughout his career, proving that the law is not merely a profession but a tool for societal transformation.

Ejiofor has consistently placed himself at the forefront of the fight for justice, particularly for the Igbo people, whose rights he has defended with unyielding courage. His legal prowess has led to the release of numerous individuals who were wrongly imprisoned, demonstrating his deep commitment to ensuring that justice is not only served but also seen to be served.

One of his most remarkable feats occurred on November 29, 2023, when he secured the release of 50 wrongly incarcerated Igbo individuals. Additionally, on July 20, 2022, he successfully overturned the convictions of five Igbo persons, restoring their freedom and dignity. These victories enunciate his exceptional dedication to justice and his willingness to stand against systemic oppression.

While many legal practitioners prioritize financial compensation, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor has proven that true advocacy is rooted in service to humanity. He took on the legal representation of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), without demanding a single kobo in return. While other lawyers involved in the case received payment, Ejiofor worked entirely pro bono, driven by his belief in the right to fair legal representation.

His pro bono services extend beyond high-profile cases. Across the southeastern region of Nigeria, Ejiofor has provided free legal representation to the voiceless, ensuring that marginalized individuals receive justice, regardless of their financial standing. His actions reaffirm the principle that legal defense should not be a privilege for the wealthy alone but a fundamental right accessible to all.

Beyond the courtroom, Ejiofor has shown remarkable compassion for society’s most vulnerable. Unlike many who celebrate their birthdays with extravagant parties featuring high-profile celebrities, Ejiofor chose a different path. On his birthday, instead of hosting a grand event with Obi Cubana, Chief Priest, E-Money, and other influential personalities, he opted to celebrate with displaced persons at an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Kuchingoro, Abuja. He donated
1,000 bags of rice
500 cartons of Indomie noodles
1,200 loaves of bread for breakfast
Over 2,000 neatly packaged jollof rice and chicken meals

This act of kindness exemplifies his deep-rooted commitment to social justice beyond legal advocacy. He does not merely fight for justice in the courtroom; he uplifts the underprivileged in practical and tangible ways.

Ejiofor’s dedication to justice has come at a significant personal cost. He has survived multiple assassination attempts, a clear indication that his work has unsettled powerful forces. Yet, despite these threats, he remains undaunted, continuing to champion the cause of the oppressed. His pliability in the face of such adversity is an attestation to his bravery and commitment to his people.

Recently, questions have arisen regarding Ejiofor’s relationship with Anambra native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu, aka ‘Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki’. This scrutiny raises a fundamental question: Are lawyers not allowed to have friends? Is it a crime for a legal professional to associate with people from different walks of life?

The reality is simple—Ejiofor is a celebrated lawyer who is charismatic, loved by many, and widely respected. His professional competence and humanitarian efforts should not be overshadowed by baseless assumptions about his relationships. The fact that a video surfaced showing him celebrating at a party with Akwa Okuko is no justification for casting aspersions on his character.

Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor is a rare gem—a man who has sacrificed immensely for the cause of justice. His relentless defense of Ndigbo, his pro bono legal work, and his indefatigable commitment to the marginalized make him one of the most outstanding legal minds in Nigeria today.

Rather than seek to tarnish his reputation, Nigerians should encourage, celebrate, and support him. His light is shining brightly for the oppressed, and we must not allow this watchtower of hope to be dimmed.

Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor is not just a lawyer—he is a warrior for justice, a voice for the voiceless, and a symbol of toughness in the face of adversity. His legacy should be preserved, honored, and upheld for generations to come.

Prince Arthur Eze: A Revered Icon of Modern Igbo Leadership

Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Esq

Prince Engr. Arthur Eze (Ozoigbondu) is an exceptional oil magnate, distinguished industrialist, and unwavering philanthropist whose generosity has positively impacted countless lives for decades.
His commitment to selfless giving transcends personal interests, ethnic boundaries, and geographical regions, making him one of the most revered Igbo figures in contemporary history.
Today, we celebrate this rare gem—not just for his extraordinary success but for his unmatched willingness to uplift others. Even at his current age, it remains challenging to find another Igbo man whose philanthropic spirit, character, and generosity parallel his.
His benevolence knows no limits, reaching beyond the Igbo community to the world at large.
However, an unfortunate reality persists among our people. In one of my recent engagements, I painfully observed that the greatest obstacle to Igbo progress is often the Igbo man himself.
Over time, I have encountered undeniable evidence of deep-seated envy and rivalry, where some would rather see their brother fall than celebrate his success.
This regrettable truth was further validated during a discussion with Ozoigbondu. While we deliberated on a crucial issue, he received an alert that an individual he had invested over ₦12 billion in was secretly orchestrating plans to seize his land in the Southeast. Such acts of betrayal reflect the insatiable greed and disloyalty that continue to hinder unity and collective advancement in Igboland.
Prince Arthur Eze lamented that one of the biggest challenges facing the Igbo race is the "onye kwulu, ibe ya agbatuo ya" syndrome—the tendency to undermine one's own brother rather than support him. Unfortunately, this destructive pattern persists in many Igbo communities, including Oraifite, where self-serving interests have taken precedence over collective growth.
Having encountered Prince Arthur Eze multiple times, each interaction reinforces my admiration for his unmatched wisdom, generosity, and commitment to uplifting others. Our recent meeting, in particular, left me in profound awe, further solidifying my belief that Ozoigbondu is truly extraordinary. His long-standing friendship and unwavering alliance with Engr. Native Doctor's Arrest Sparks Outrage: Lawyer Blasts Soludo

Human Rights lawyer Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor has described the arrest of Chief Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, by the Anambra State Government as unlawful and a gross violation of his fundamental right to practice any religion of his choice.

Ejiofor, in a statement on Sunday made available to our reporter in Awka anambra State Capital, said the arrest not only tramples on his fundamental rights but also raises serious questions about the abuse of state power for political or personal vendettas.

He also expressed concerns about the potential misuse of the outfit for settling political scores—concerns that, unfortunately, are now being debated.

According to Ejiofor, Sections 38, 39, and 40 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) provide clear, extensive, and unequivocal protections for every citizen’s freedom of thought, conscience, religion, and expression.

He further stated that these rights are sacrosanct and cannot be arbitrarily infringed upon by any government, authority, or local laws.
The statement reads:
"It is deeply concerning that Chief Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, has been unlawfully arrested by the Anambra State Government. This egregious act not only tramples on his fundamental rights but also raises serious questions about the abuse of state power for political or personal vendettas.
A few weeks after the establishment of the Agunechemba Security Outfit, I expressed concerns about the potential misuse of the outfit for settling political scores—concerns that, unfortunately, are now being debated.
Since news of Akwa Okuko’s arrest broke, my phones have been flooded with calls and messages from concerned individuals, all questioning the legality of his detention. Upon further inquiry, I learned that he was invited for a meeting by the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, who personally called him. However, rather than a routine engagement, this invitation appears to have been a trap—one that has now led to his unjust detention.
The crux of the matter lies in a trending undated video in which Akwa Okuko allegedly spoke about preparing a substance called "Okeite." Notably, I was made to understand that this video was neither released on his official platforms nor promoted by him. However, even if we assume—without conceding—that he made such statements, the fundamental question remains: What crime has he committed?
Legal and Constitutional Violations:
Sections 38, 39, and 40 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) provide clear, extensive, and unequivocal protections for every citizen’s freedom of thought, conscience, religion, and expression. These rights are sacrosanct and cannot be arbitrarily infringed upon by any government, authority, or local laws.

Ganduje: Igbo Must Connect to National Politics, commends Chukwuma

Titus Maduako Eleweke

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has described the Igbo people as the most nationalistic group in the country, expressing regret over their lack of connection to national politics.

Ganduje made the statement on Saturday in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, during a one-day visit to the state.

According to the APC National Chairman, there is no political ward in the country where an Igbo person is not present, engaged in one activity or another.

"In every ward, we find an Igbo person. In all 774 local government councils, you will see Igbo communities. This is an outlook of nationalism. But why do you choose to remain in a micro-political enclave? It is no longer possible; you must change the narrative. You are aware of de-marginalization policy of the Southeast political zone. We must connect you to the center. It is a task that must be done. We must connect you to the national grid because, for now, you are politically connected to rural electrification. You are under generators, and this is not acceptable," he stated.

He, however, commended the leadership of the party in the state, describing it as solid. He assured that the national executive would do everything necessary to ensure justice, equity, and fairness for all, noting that the national leadership had decided that it would no longer be business as usual.

"Our party will be active throughout the year, and I am happy that Anambra APC is very active. We want to be focused, have vision, and be strategic," he said.

The state chairman of APC, Chief Basil Ejidike, expressed dissatisfaction with the federal government’s approach to appointing individuals for positions without the knowledge of party executives.

According to him, the party faithful are being neglected by the federal government, a development he described as discouraging to members.
He also noted that all palliatives distributed by the federal government to the state through the governor were shared only among members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), with nothing allocated to APC members.

However, the national leadership of APC and co-aspirants in the forthcoming Anambra state governorship election commended Sir Paul Chukwuma for his commitment and contributions to the development of the party in the state.

The National Chairman, Ganduje, commended Sir Chukwuma for donating a befitting secretariat for the party in Awka.
According to him, Sir Chukwuma has made significant contributions to the sustenance of the party in the state.

Also, the national women’s leader of the party, Dr. Mrs. Mary Alile, praised Sir Chukwuma for supporting the national women’s program in Abuja.
She said that women can only support those who recognize and appreciate them, noting that women are core voters in elections.

One of the governorship aspirants, Mr. Chukwuma Umeorji, also commended Sir Paul Chukwuma for his contribution to the party's development in the state.

"When somebody does something good, you must commend him for donating a house for the party," he said.

Speaking, Sir Paul Chukwuma said that he is committed to the good of APC's development in the state. According to him, his agenda is to connect APC to national politics.

"It is my agenda to connect Anambra state to the center. I have been with APC, and I will continue to support APC. We will defeat APGA in the forthcoming election. I plead with you to vote for me in the primary," he said.

Nigerian Advocate Praises Africa's Disability Law Milestone

Titus Maduako Eleweke

A Nigerian disability advocate, Jennifer Abomnger, has commended the existence of disability laws in most African countries.

Abomnger gave her commendation during a panel discussion on the topic "The Future We Want: Reimagining Our Future Beyond Beijing," as part of the activities for African Women in Dialogue 2025.

She emphasized the need for people living with disabilities in all their diversity to be given reasonable accommodation in African women's activities and beyond.

According to her, disability must not be seen as a condition but rather as a social inclusion issue that requires attention.

Speaking with journalists after her remarkable opening address, the CEO of Women Development Business (WDB Trust), Mama Riah Phiyega, stated, "The issues that affect African women unite them.
" They are common issues that may have nuances in terms of areas or regions, but they happen in all spaces, hence the need for women to dialogue," she said.

Activities of AFWID 2025, held in Johannesburg, South Africa, also included breakaway sessions where attendees discussed different topics, providing a platform for women to share their experiences and recommendations for creating positive change. Dolapo H. Osunsina, Co-founder of hFACTOR, who spoke at one of the breakaway sessions, stressed the importance of mentorship as a way to help women activate and productively use their power.

Speaking on the way forward, Nigerian Beijing veteran Dr. Timiebi Koripamo (OON) emphasized the need for negotiations and dialogue with men.
"I think most of us see men as adversaries, and that mindset won't help us. Women played a significant role in resolving the Mano River Basin crisis. We must remember that men are our brothers, fathers, uncles, and husbands. We should come together, engage them in negotiations, and put forward resolutions," she stated.

When sharing her thoughts on the outcome of the dialogue during a conversation with a Nigerian journalist, Dr. Chinyere Chukwudebelu, a member of the AFWID 2025 steering committee, expressed satisfaction with its planning and delivery, highlighting that for a movement of such magnitude, cohesion was achieved irrespective of the cultural nuances and differences in language and religion among the over 1,000 women from 55 African countries who attended the dialogue.

She rejoiced that attendees left the dialogue with a great sense of belonging, knowing that they have sisters everywhere in Africa.

On the recommendations and resolutions reached during the dialogue, Dr. Chukwudebelu, the Coordinator for AFWID in Nigeria and Regional Leader for Anglophone and Lusophone West Africa, who led a delegation comprising 14 Nigerian women to the dialogue, categorically stated that there is already a laid-down plan to engage with her team to regionalize the dialogue, which she believes will enable deeper regional dialogue around gender, as issues are similar within regions. She further mentioned the plan to constitute an inclusive inter-sectoral group in all the countries in her region to review and domesticate the AFWID resolutions as applicable to them and organize regional meetings to review each country's plans for alignment with the overall objective of AFWID, among other things.

Human Rights Lawyer Ejiofor Demands FG Probe Ebonyi Massacre

Maduako Igbokwe

Human rights lawyer and lead counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has urged the federal government to thoroughly investigate the massacre in Amagu village, Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Ejiofor, in a statement on Thursday, said the recent massacre in Amagu village, Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, allegedly carried out by Fulani herdsmen, was yet another grim reminder of the unchecked wave of violence plaguing Southeast communities.

According to him, the senseless bloodshed is both tragic and unacceptable.

"I strongly and unequivocally condemn this barbaric act and demand an immediate and thorough investigation to ensure that the perpetrators are swiftly identified and brought to justice. The sanctity of human life must never be compromised. The security of lives and property should remain a top priority for all levels of government. It is imperative that law enforcement agencies act decisively to prevent further attacks and dismantle the networks enabling such atrocities," he stated.

He also urged the governors of the Southeast to take bold and proactive steps to curb these recurring assaults on their people.

He said the government must explore and implement all necessary security strategies to fulfill their constitutional duty of protecting the lives and property of their citizens.

"Inaction is no longer an option; our people deserve to live in peace and security," he stated.

Ekpa's Actions Validate IPOB's Terrorist Tag - Ejiofor

Maduako Eleweke

The human rights lawyer and lead counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has stated that the activities of Simon Ekpa gave credence to the Court of Appeal's judgment affirming IPOB as a terrorist organization.

Ejiofor, who spoke with journalists in Asaba, Delta State, during his 50th birthday celebration over the weekend, said that Simon Ekpa had actually destroyed and criminalized the struggle for Biafra.

According to him, before now, the average person believed in the struggle for Biafra's independence, but today, trust and confidence in the movement have declined.

"I have had the privilege of reading parts of the Court of Appeal judgment affirming IPOB as a terrorist organization recently. I heard the observation made by one of the justices. If I may summarize, he said the concept which established IPOB was accepted by all Igbos, but in the course of the struggle, some criminal elements hijacked the process and turned it into a criminal and violent organization," he quoted.

According to Ejiofor, in 2015 and 2016, every youth or reasonable Igbo person who had not adorned IPOB regalia saw himself as not belonging to the Igbo struggle.

"It was sweet; that was exactly what compelled me to get involved. I asked, 'Why is the government arresting them for seeking to have their own state?' The last straw that broke the camel's back was the activities of Simon Ekpa. When he started, I fought him in the media and went to court with him. The case is still in court. I was shouting that this man is a fraudster, and most people started attacking me, calling me a betrayal. I replied that I prayed his activities would affect them."

"Actually, Simon Ekpa took advantage of the situation that presented itself at the time and led our people into committing crimes, acts of terrorism, kidnapping, killings, raping, and trafficking in human parts. That changed the entire orientation of the movement. It takes time to explain to the average Igbo person that Ekpa was not speaking for them. Today, some have started realizing that he caused more harm in the struggle and to the entire Igbo land," he said.

According to Ejiofor, Simon Ekpa negatively affected the public perception of IPOB, of which he is not a member.
He further stated that Ekpa, due to the situation, recruited many IPOB and Igbo youths and used them to commit crimes and the public then erroneously believed that IPOB was committing these heinous acts.

"When you arrest those Ekpa criminal elements, they will say they are IPOB. It is important we make a distinction between IPOB and Ekpa and his Biafra in exile."

"Today, if a referendum is conducted, I don't think any Igbo man would be happy to vote for the state of Biafra because of the atrocities Ekpa committed against them. How can you claim to be fighting for your people's freedom while you are killing and kidnapping them? Ekpa destroyed the IPOB concept and implanted his criminal concept among his followers," he said.

According to Ejiofor, by Ekpa’s actions, it will be difficult to convince the court that IPOB is not a terrorist organization.
He stated that Ekpa's actions justify the Court of Appeal's affirmation of IPOB as a violent and terrorist organization.

CrimeESN At 4,declares Zero Tolerance For Crime In South East by Titusele87(op): 7:35am On Jan 31, 2025
ESN at 4,Declares Zero Tolerance for Crime in South East

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide has commended the operations of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) for their gallantry in the South East.

IPOB also praised the ESN Command as they celebrated their 4th anniversary on December 12, 2024.
According to a statement issued by IPOB’s Head of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, the ESN in 2025 will intensify their sting operations against all criminals who have turned Biafra land into a place where all manner of evil and abominable activities—such as ritual killings, extortion, illegal arrests, forceful disappearances, and drug trafficking—take place.

The statement emphasized that Biafra Land must be free from all forms of criminality and terrorism being sponsored by the Nigerian government and desperate politicians, who seek to tarnish the image of ESN, IPOB, and the Biafra struggle.

"ESN hereby warns all local vigilantes, under any code name in Biafra Land, to tread with caution in discharging their duties. ESN operatives are not against the genuine vigilantes who are helping to curb crime. However, they must not cross the red line by becoming tools in the hands of the Nigerian government and its murderous security forces to hunt, abduct, or kill any IPOB member or innocent Biafran in Biafra territory. If they do, they should be ready to face a confrontation with ESN," it stated.

It further stated that IPOB and Ndigbo are pleased to congratulate all ESN operatives on their belated 4th Anniversary Parade that took place on December 12, 2024, in Biafra Land.

The statement noted that the ESN Command 4th Anniversary videos and pictures were deliberately delayed due to security concerns at the time of publication.

It stated that the global family of IPOB and Biafrans, in general, salute the historic 4th anniversary of the gallant men and women of ESN.
"We salute their bravery, dedication, and excellent service to our fatherland, Biafra. In a special way, we honor the gallant heroes who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in their efforts to keep our people safe. The warrior spirit in the living and departed comrades is working together to ensure that we restore the Biafra Nation. Once again, we say congratulations to the men and women under the ESN Command," it added.

Background of the Security Outfit:
The Eastern Security Network (ESN) is an Indigenous vigilante security outfit founded by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the family of IPOB worldwide. The primary mission of ESN is to protect the people of the South Eastern region in the contraption called Nigeria from the marauding Fulani terrorists and herdsmen.
Before the formation of ESN, the murderous Fulani bandits and terrorists occupied many of Biafra's forests and bushes. From these occupied areas, they launched attacks on local farmers, farmlands, and communities in the region. There were countless cases of Fulani terrorist attacks on many communities, with many women raped and many people, including children, killed by these soulless terrorists. However, in the past four years of ESN operations in the region, the cases of Fulani herdsmen mass murder, rapes, killings of farmers, and displacement of communities in Biafra territory have almost ceased.

On the 4th anniversary of the ESN Command, the worldwide family of IPOB wishes to reassure Ndigbo and Biafrans worldwide that ESN has the utmost interest of Biafrans at heart, prioritizing it above their own personal interests. They are under oath to safeguard the region and its people. This is why, for the past four years, they have sacrificed greatly for the greater good of Biafra land. They have lived in the bushes, confronted numerous challenges, and faced many difficult circumstances, including the loss of lives. However, they have persevered by adopting adaptive strategies and the prayers of Biafrans and other lovers of freedom.

The IPOB leadership and IPOB worldwide have worked tremendously to sustain ESN and the Biafra struggle in the absence of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Their resolve and determination to sustain and support ESN financially and morally cannot be overstated. ESN remains the last line of defense for the Biafra Nation. It is incumbent upon Biafrans at home and in the diaspora to join IPOB in providing logistical support for ESN to continue protecting our land for the battles ahead.

ESN operatives have a strong sense of ethics and morality in discharging their duties. Therefore, be assured that ESN will not engage in any criminal activity or harm the people they have vowed to protect. There will be serious consequences for any ESN operative who violates the ESN Code of Conduct and ethics.

In 2025, ESN will intensify their sting operations against all criminals who have turned our land into a place for all manner of evil and abominable activities, such as ritual killings, extortion, illegal arrests, forceful disappearances, and drug trafficking. It will be an eye-for-an-eye operation. Biafra Land must be free from all forms of criminality and terrorism, which are being sponsored by the Nigerian government and desperate politicians, who seek to tarnish the image of ESN, IPOB, and the Biafra struggle.

ESN hereby warns all local vigilantes, under any code name, in Biafra Land to tread with caution in discharging their duties. ESN operatives are not against the genuine vigilantes who are helping to curb crime. However, they must not cross the red line by becoming tools in the hands of the Nigerian government and its murderous security forces to hunt, abduct, or kill any IPOB member or innocent Biafran in Biafra territory. If they do, they should be prepared for a confrontation with ESN.

ESN will take all necessary measures to facilitate the evacuation of terrorists and bandits in the uniform of the Nigerian security agencies from the Biafra Region. Some individuals in these security uniforms are terrorists and criminals masquerading as state actors.

ESN will impose harsh punishment on any Biafran who conspires with Fulani herdsmen in land acquisition in the South East region. Moreover, individuals making money by identifying IPOB members for abduction or killing by the Nigerian security forces should be ready to face the same fate.

Finally, the global family of IPOB once again calls on the Nigerian government under Bola Ahmed Tinubu to release our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and other Biafrans abducted by the Nigerian DSS, Army, and Police and detained unjustly. Self-determination is not a crime under any law in the world.

IPOB shall never retreat nor surrender until Biafrans are given the right to vote in a referendum or exit Nigeria in some other way.

God bless Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB leadership for launching ESN to save our people from the Fulani bloody terrorists. God bless ESN operatives for their bravery and sacrifices.

EDITORIAL: The Persecution of Ozo Jeff Nweke: A Case of Envy?

The recent allegations of kidnapping leveled against Ozo Jeff Nweke, CEO of Mango and Lion Properties Ltd, have sparked widespread concern and debate.

As a prominent businessman and philanthropist, Ozo Jeff Nweke has been involved in various community development initiatives and has provided scholarships to numerous students.

Community leaders from Awka and Ezinano have come out in defence of Ozo Jeff Nweke, dismissing the allegations as baseless.

Chief Arinze Ekelem, a community leader from Awka, described Ozo Jeff Nweke as a man of impeccable character, while Chief Richard Onuorah, another community leader from Ezinano, noted that Ozo Jeff Nweke has never been involved in any criminal engagement.

Ozo Jeff Nweke's commitment to securing his community is evident in his initiatives to support security programmes in Awka and environs.

However, despite his good deeds, some individuals have accused him of kidnapping, a claim that seems doubtful given his background.

The fact that Ozo Jeff Nweke has assigned special unit policemen and civil defense personnel to his office and personal security details raises serious doubts about the validity of these allegations.

Furthermore, the timing of these allegations is suspicious, coming when Ozo Jeff Nweke is engaged in a dispute over land ownership with some individuals from Enugwu-Agidi and other neighboring towns.

It is possible that these allegations are a desperate attempt to discredit Ozo Jeff Nweke and gain an advantage in the land dispute.

We urge the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into these allegations and clear innocent people's names.

The authorities should approach this investigation with an open mind, uninfluenced by malicious rumours and accusations.

We must not allow envy, deceit, and false accusations to destroy the reputation of good and innocent persons.

In the meantime, we commend Ozo Jeff Nweke for his tireless efforts to make a positive impact on his community.

In the circumstances, it is crucial that we separate perception from reality. Let us not rush to judgment, but instead allow the truth to prevail and justice to take its course.

Gumi's Genocidal Plan Against Ndi Igbo Won't Fly - IPOB-DOS

Titus Maduako Eleweke

The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (DOS) has stated that it is not under any illusion about the plan of both internal and external forces working in cohesion to execute the age-long agenda of exterminating the Indigenous People of Biafra and taking over their ancestral land and resources.
This was contained in a statement by DOS on its X handle, X.com/real_ipobdos.

According to the statement, it is the pursuit of this age-old agenda that has given rise to charlatans of all kinds, such as the Islamic fundamentalist Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, the spokesperson of all the terror groups in Northern Nigeria, including Boko Haram and bandits. Gumi's audacity to openly call on the Nigerian establishment to set in motion the machinery for the mass killing of Biafran/Igbo youths is a direct manifestation of this agenda.

The statement emphasized that Gumi's call for the Nigerian government to create anarchy in Igboland was not made in isolation but as a smokescreen or a prelude to implementing their "final solution" to the Biafran question.

"At the time Gumi was urging the government to create an enabling environment for internal insurrection by arming Biafran youths to kill IPOB family members, the Director of the DSS in Imo State was also instructing his men gathered in Awo Idenmili that their primary assignment was to hunt down and murder IPOB members."

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) formed the Eastern Security Network (ESN) for situations like this. We already knew, just a few months after the genocidal war waged upon the Biafran people by the Nigerian and British governments, that our salvation and freedom would only be guaranteed by ourselves. On December 12, 2020, the ESN was set up to defend our land against invading terrorists masquerading as Fulani herdsmen. Before the ESN came into being, the Fulani had unrestrained and unchallenged access to our land, aided by the complicity of some politicians, governors, traditional rulers, and president generals of Town Unions.

For the past four years, the operatives of the Eastern Security Network have successfully changed the narrative, enabling the Biafran and Southeastern people to work their farms with little or no danger from the marauding Fulani. The continuous increase in farming activities and the resulting surge in agricultural harvests from Biafraland attests to the effectiveness of our efforts in keeping the marauding Fulani in check. Keep up the good work, valiant men and women of the Eastern Security Network.

The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra is pleased to use this medium to congratulate the operatives of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) on the conclusion of their 4th anniversary program. The DOS commends all the men and women of the Eastern Security Network who participated in the historic event of December 12, 2024. We are marveled by your high level of discipline, encouraged by your dedication and devotion to the security of our land and forests, and inspired by your commitment to the liberation and freedom of the Biafran people and Biafraland. The DOS also commends those operatives who were not selected to be part of the 4th anniversary’s final programme.
The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra assures the Biafran people that the men and women of the ESN are willing and ready to take on their assignment of safeguarding our land from the evil plans and agenda of people like the Islamic fundamentalist and jihadist Gumi and his backers.

To the officers and men of the ESN Command, there is work ahead of us. The year 2025 will see the expansion of your core responsibilities to include other key areas in Biafraland that will strengthen the security of not only our forests and bushes but also our villages, cities, and towns, laying the groundwork for the economic takeoff of Biafraland. In this regard, the ESN operatives must continue to maintain the highest level of discipline and moral aptitude as they carry out their duties. Protecting Biafraland and the Biafran people shall be your watchword at all times.
Our actions will speak for us"

PoliticsIPOB Lawyer Slams Sheikh Gumi's Arming Igbo Youths' Statement As Dangerous by Titusele87(op): 8:07am On Jan 28, 2025
SHEIKH GUMI AND HIS MISGUIDED AND MALICIOUS PROPOSAL: By Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Esq

My attention has been drawn to an absurd statement by the prominent Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, widely reported across online and print media. In his latest opinion, Sheikh Gumi proposed that the government should arm Igbo youths to counter IPOB, a suggestion that is both divisive and inflammatory. I categorically state as follows:

1. Sheikh Gumi's Complicity in Northern Insecurity: It is well-known that Sheikh Gumi, driven by a questionable obsession with monetary benefits, has played a significant role in exacerbating terrorism and banditry across Northern Nigeria. His actions have contributed to the region's dire state of insecurity.

2. Defender of Enemies of the State: Sheikh Gumi has gained notoriety for his defence of individuals and groups waging violent campaigns against Nigeria. Despite his open affiliations with such elements, he remains untouched, enjoying a troubling level of immunity.

3. Gumi's Accomplices Under Investigation: One of Gumi’s emissaries is currently in the custody of the State Security Service for his role in promoting banditry. It is difficult to ignore the likelihood that Sheikh Gumi covertly enables such activities while acting as their chief negotiator.

4. Misguided Advice on Arming the South East: Sheikh Gumi’s inability to address the rampant terrorism and insecurity in his region makes his advice to arm youths in the South East, not only hypocritical but also dangerous.

5. Manipulating the Narrative Against the South East: It is clear that the criminal activities in the South East are not the work of IPOB but rather, opportunistic criminals masquerading as freedom fighters. Sheikh Gumi’s suggestion would only serve to pit Igbo people against one another, plunging the region into chaos.

6. IPOB's Stance Against Criminals: IPOB has repeatedly distanced itself from these criminal elements and, in its recent press release, even offered to collaborate with local security outfits to eliminate such threats.

7. Gumi's Hidden Agenda: The ultimate goal of Sheikh Gumi appears to be the destabilization of Igbo land, creating a scenario where brothers turn against brothers, resulting in needless bloodshed and destruction.

8. Unity Against External Intruders: Despite the political conspiracies against the Igbos, the most marginalized ethnic group in Nigeria, we have resolved to take our destiny into our own hands. Together, we will fight the real intruders who wreak havoc in our land.

9. A Message to Sheikh Gumi - Let it be clear: Sheikh Gumi’s divisive mission is dead on arrival. The Igbo people have learned their lessons through hard and painful experiences and will not fall for such manipulative tactics.

Titus Maduako Eleweke

At fifty years, a warrior stands,
A beacon strong with steady hands.
Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, a name renowned,
A voice for justice, ever proud.

Through stormy days and nights of pain,
He fought for freedom, not in vain.
A lawyer's pen, a sword of might,
He brought truth to the darkest night.

In courts, he stood with unbowed grace,
A defender of the rightful race.
For IPOB, his heart did bleed,
To sow the seeds of hope and lead.

His journey's long, his story wide,
In every trial, he would confide
The strength of nations, bold and free,
Rooted in truth, in liberty.

Fifty years, a landmark bright,
With every battle, every fight,
He forged ahead, a man of dreams,
Beyond the noise, beyond the schemes.

A lawyer, yes, but so much more,
A voice that echoes from the shore.
With wisdom deep, and courage rare,
He fights for justice everywhere.

A gentle spirit, fierce yet kind,
In every step, a deeper mind.
Through all the struggles, pain, and loss,
He rose, unbroken, proud—no cost.

Today, we honor him, our guide,
Who stands with strength and endless pride.
Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, at fifty years,
A legacy that calms our fears.

May the years ahead be full of light,
As you continue your noble fight.
A lawyer, leader, friend, and guide,
In you, our hopes and dreams reside.
