DyshApp: Alkaki
Okay! Enough of the bugs/insects! Let's move to the Northern side, a snack, to be particular. Alkaki is a snack worthy of savoury. Mostly served at weddings, this beauty is made from ground wheat, flour and sugar syrup, formed into different marvellous shapes and deep fried.
Pocho
If you aren't vegetarian, then Pocho is the one for you. It is a watery soup made from meat, pepper, palm oil and locust beans as the main ingredients. The people of Tiv eat Pocho with rice, yam, eba, fufu or other solid swallows.
African Palm Weevil Larvae
It's time to talk about bugs, don't you think? The African larva is predominant to the people of Delta. You could easily see vendors on the highways and streets of Delta- Asaba, dishing this exquisite food to travellers in moving buses. In Nigeria, these bugs are called eruru, ngwo, agu, nten, mutukpa etc, by different tribes.
Moni-Moni (Shea tree caterpillar)
Yes! Another bug delicacy on our list. Moni-Moni is mostly consumed by Westerners. These crunchy, delicious insects are found and trapped on shea trees. To make things more interesting, moni-moni could be prepared with a sauce and then savoured with bread.
Kiri Igina
This soup is a modified ogbono or okro soup of the Ijaw people. Aside from the fact that this food takes little time to prepare, it is not cooked on fire at all. The only thing you need from the fire is your boiled water. You would just need to stir your ogbono, okro, pepper and other ingredients (raw like that) in hot water, and you are good to go.
If you know any of these foods how does it taste and what food do you think should be on the list?

mabell: PASTOR ANITA SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 6TH BE TRANSFORMED BY THE WORD! And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2) To be conformed means to be “fashioned alike”. Therefore not to be conformed to this world means not to be fashioned according to its way of doing things. Having being born again; your spirit is being recreated; person- you became a brand new a new species of being without a past (2nd Corinthians 5:17).however, though your spirit is born anew, your mind isn’t renewed just yet. This explains why though you’re born again, you notice that some negative thoughts and ideas you used to have before occasionally come to your mind. Thoughts of weakness, wickedness, sickness and sin may dominate your thinking if your mind is not renewed by the word. To overcome this, you’ll have to meditate on the word of God daily. Feed your spirit and mind with the word. Adjust and renew your thinking with the word. When your mind is renewed with the word, you’ll think God’s thoughts and His opinions and ideas will dominate your mind. So determine to meditate on the word, not just today, but every day. Through meditation, the word goes through your mind into your spirit, and new thoughts- words- thoughts –would well up in you and dominate your mind. Then your mindset will be transformed from that failure, weakness, sickness and defeat into one of success, victory, health, prosperity and greatness.
Prayer I thank you dear heavenly Father for the entrance of your word gives light to my spirit and renews my mind. As I meditate on your word today, I am metamorphosed, and my mind is renewed after the image of Christ Jesus, my Lord Amen. Benfaco: The love of God for us
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
When Adam sinned, he lost the direct access he initially had with God. (Genesis 3) God decided to send his only begotten son (Jesus) to pay the price for our sins on the cross of calvary because of his love for us. When Christ resurrected, he restored all privileges that we once had and brought redemption to us all. All we need is to believe that he died for our sin and has once again granted us direct access with God. No longer through an intermediary! (Mathew 27:50-53).
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
If our earthly parents care so much for us, how much more our father in heaven! (Luke 11:11-13). God’s love for us is infinite. He has promised to supply all our needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philipians 4:19).
Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus, I accept and acknowledge you as my personal lord and savior. I sincerely ask that you forgive my sins. Come into my life and pour out your spirit on me. By faith, I receive the promise of the father, which is the holy spirit. (John 14:16) I thank you for the price that you paid for me on the cross of calvary. Thank you for my redemption. I pray that your power, grace and favor will abide with me now and forever more. Amen. Are you interested in a collaboration? |

Christianity Etc › Re: God Says, "You Shall Not Kill," But He Kills. Why Does He Contradict Himself? by tivereh: 10:37pm On Jun 12, 2023 |
milkymesh: In recent times, I am having a second thought on things I read and believed in the bible.
I have never read a place in the bible where the devil killed someone without Gods permission. 1. He killed Jobs ten sons with God's permission. Why did some innocent young guys just die because two powerful being placed a bet. Why place bet with peoples life?
2. God killed first born of Egypt, even animals where not spared. Even first born infants, babies, and children where murdered. Why visit adult sins on innocent children. Imagine sentencing a man child to dead because his father is an armed robber. is that just.
3. Book haram who kill people because they don't believe in their brand of Islam is branded as terrorist. Now God told the Israelite to killed the Canaanites because they belong to another religion. A whole tribe was murdered in many cases. What do we call that in modern times. Imagine if all Igbo's are murdered because they are not Muslim. What do we call that in modern times.
4. Elijah(or is it Elisha?) ordered a bear to kill some little boys because they where making jest of him. Why not simply correct them. Is killing them a just punishment for making jest of someone? As a little school boy, I made caricature of some disabled people then and I am sure most of us did or still do that. Should the state make such a capital offence, will you support it?
I can go on and on. I am beginning to doubt many stories in the bible. What are your views? I think that was God in the old testament and the new one, in the old testament he was very brutal with the people but when he started having disciples he became more mercifull |

You can quote this post to see how I did it below.
Got it? This didn't work for me and is it that link to other websites are not allowed in nairaland when I put a normal link the spam bot blocks the post |
