Hi TV01, first, I like the way u write. (honestly i appreciate that).

I think the purpose of this thread is to argue for or against Tithing based on our different perpectives of the bible and not to make derogatory comments on our persons. That two people do not agree on certain issues does not make room for  our fingers to run faster than brain. If you do not agree simply say i do not and give reasons that will just be okay.

HEB 9: 15- 21
15And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

16For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

17For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

18Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

19For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

20Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

21Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry


I hope you know that there is  differnce between the New Testament and the Old testament, also there is a difference btween the Old Testament section of the of the Bible and the new testament section of the bible. I believe this topic will be well understood by everyone if we note the differences above.

The old testament section of the bible starts from Genesis and ends at Malachi. while the OLD TESTAMENT started with  Moses, that is why it was called mosaic law(moses received the law ). and it continued  till just before the death of Jesus. so looking at it this way the old testament SECTION extended to matthew mark, Luke and John, they all lived under the old testament. And the NEW TESTAMENT started after the death of JESUS.

from this (above) u can see that when Abraham gave tithe was not really in the old testament but before it, so also Jacob.

so if the problem for not payin tithe is the issue of old or new testament then this should help otherwise ,
Now I will like to inform you that tithe predated the old old testament.

I don't know y people like to interprete the bible to suit them. I can bet most of the people here advocating for the need to give to the needy and not pay tithe have not put any smile on a needy soul lately. be sincere ask your self if u have really met someone's dire need lately.
well as for the tithe given to the church that is their own "chop money" those that work at the alter must feed at the altar.

Numbers 18:20-21
20 The LORD said to Aaron, "You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.

21 "I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the Tent of Meeting.
the priest, pastors are the levite of today.

let God judge any one them that uses the income unwisely, but u obey the word of the lord.

well i think he started well but now he is begining to compromise. He is obviously an instrument of destuction to all those u dare look at Obj eye ball 2 eye ball and those that Obj has decided to look at theirs. I thinks this is tarnishing his Image.

Well the truth is that paying of tithe and giving to the needy are two different responsibilties of a christian. but we need to know that they are not substitute  to each other. Paying of tithe is a stronger obligation. the bible says PAY your tithe (to the priest) and Give to the poor. as we can see from this semantics paying is an obligation while give is subject to one's judgment.
Matt 26:8-11
8When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. "Why this waste?" they asked. 9"This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor."

This is the same way must people (chrisrians) think, they always think giving to the church is a waste and that preacher are there to "take advantage" of their congregation. well its not new.

10Aware of this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 11The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me.

Your tithe must be paid to the church and you cannot give it as a gift to the needy. Otherwise God will come for it.Mal 3.10.
Your TITHE is your Insurance. Paying of tithe is a duty we owe to God.
however to give to the poor is good in fact
He who gives to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done--prov 19:17

what about him, sorry I dont really know him or his music.so I guess cannot contribute much. On what basis do u doubt his "gospelarity" if its the type as in fuji, makossa, etc, well I dont think that is enuff to "send him to hell", I mean condemn him but if u're talking of word base inpiration then its another thing. but i know alot of nigerian gospel artiste do not have their inspirations based on the word of God but on life's philosophy which most times may not be consistent with the views of God.eg Coursing ur enemy,

I think this statement was made out of personal differences and not due to official reasons. the way Obj and Wuruwuru Iwu has been handling this case is becoming "too personal" for the nation

No one wants to vote Rev Chris Okotie cos he is a man of God- the other contestants you complain about, Nigeria deserves a change. A change we deserve go for fresh.
