The situation in Nigeria is a very complex one, but let me break it down a little. It's like we're sitting on a goldmine, but we're too busy fighting over who gets to hold the shovel.


Firstly, Nigeria's got a mix of different ethnic groups and religions - over 250 tribes, and pretty even split between Christians and Muslims. That diversity could be our strength, but instead it's often our weak spot. Why? Well, there's a lot of history of groups not trusting each other, politicians causing trouble between groups, and plain old human nature.


Our history's got some deep scars. The civil war, for instance – the civil war left some deep scars that are still healing. So when one group feels like they're getting the short end of the stick, all those old suspicions come flooding back.


Now throw in religion. In Nigeria, religion isn't just about faith – politicians use it to stir up trouble so people don't notice them stealing. They'll go to churches and mosques with big promises, while they quietly loot the country.


It's a nasty cycle. More poverty makes it easier for politicians to get people worked up over ethnic and religious differences. And there's nothing more dangerous than a poor person who thinks fighting for their tribe or faith will fix everything.


But here's the kicker - Nigeria's loaded with oil, minerals, good farmland and other valuable stuff. Not to mention the human capital – Nigerians are some of the most enterprising people you'll ever meet. So why do we act like we've got nothing?


It's all about what people see and hear. If you only hear "no money," "no jobs," "no light," after awhile you start to believe things are worse than they really are. Even though we can see wealth around us, we're led to think there's not enough to go around. It's like we're wearing blinders, focusing on what we lack instead of what we've got.


The sad part is, believing those lies becomes reality. We fight over crumbs because we've been convinced the cupboard’s bare, even while we stand next to a loaded pantry.


So yeah, that sums it up. We've got plenty, but we're too divided and beaten down to see it. Recognizing that is step one to cracking this nut.
