Covenant University has denied allegation that its former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Aize Obayan, was suspended as the Director of the Education Commission of the Winners Chapel for altering examination results for some students in the Department of Mass Communication.

The university, in a statement on Wednesday, said the report published by an online medium, was meant to malign the name of the institution.

It said, “We wish to categorically state that the story is utter falsehood and a mere conjecture whose intent and purpose is to malign the good name of the University and that of Professor Obayan as well as other officers mentioned in the story.”

The university said the alleged suspension of Obayan’s “excellent performance” in office VC for seven years was responsible for her appointment into the office of the Education Secretary for one year.

The statement also denied the allegation that the former VC’s daughter was a beneficiary of result manipulation.

The university, which regretted that its own side of the story was not sought before it was published, said it had a zero tolerance for examination malpractice or fraud in whatever form.

It said, “As a Christian Mission University, our mandate and core values negate such practice as we drive a zero tolerance policy for examination malpractice or fraud in whatever guise.”

Olalekan 0: I graduated from a private uni too (not covenant) but I advice you humble yourself. There are lots of guys from very affluent families who are studying at public unis only because their dads attended the so called great IFE and UI,erroneously thought those schools still have their repute and insists their kids went there. Meanwhile,nearly half of my graduating class at secondary school went to covenant so I know a whole lot about the school and I can authoritatively tell you 60 per cent of the students there are from middle-class families

Olalekan 0: I just can't stop wondering why all these covenant university kids are so full of themselves and think they're of a higher social class than everyone else just because they attended a school that charges less than 500K. Imagine one of them claiming he could help someone secure a job! If u think 500K's big money ,then that's a clear indication of the fact that u guys are from below-middle-class families cos 500K cannot even cover some students airfare when they come to Nigeria for vacations.

am a CU student and its really annoying whn all these fed uni studnts talk. why wont I get a 1st class after all the hard work(in reading)I have access to the library a VERY conducive environment(I have every thing I want) and above all the spiritual aspect? I mean all the prayers. the blessings 4rm men of God an I still wont get a 1st class? then there is a problem o.. it just cant happen! especially in CU, its very easy to pass or fail the choice is urs cos, contrary to wht pple think, there are lots of social distractions.. I mean loads. so the fed uni student shuld blame their lecturers for nt graduating with a 1st class result.
