Business / Re: Honesty Is The Issue Of Haulage Business And Other Business In Nigeria by tobiloba82: 9:08am On Feb 22, 2013
Greedy owner and corrupt manager. Egbe eye leye nteele. Birds of the same feather flock together.
Let me assure you that you should just be ready for default in payment. You never see anything. Maybe na only your truck dey do all Estate developers job in Nigeria.
Who on planet earth will give that kind of money? He is still coming back to renegotiate. if you dont agree and push him, you are on your way to hypertension.
Bit of advice( And dont say i didnt tell you) Call him this weekend that is saturday evening or sunday and asked to tell you the truth from the depth of his heart
what he can remit into your account without defaulting. Play with him on the phone to get the truth from him.
You don invest money.Begin to cut your loss now. Make sure you get that $55,000 back.
If you are not confortable with what he will give you, back out fast.
Just an advice for you. I dont deal in Dump trucks,so i am not stealing anybody's biz. just advice you the owner.
Politics / Kaduna State Governor Killed In Plane Crash by tobiloba82: 8:35pm On Dec 15, 2012
YENAGOA, Nigeria (Reuters) - The governor of Nigeria's Kaduna state, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, was killed on Saturday when his helicopter crashed in the southerly oil-producing Bayelsa state, an aide to the politician told Reuters. Bayelsa police spokesman Fidelis Odunna confirmed a helicopter had crashed in Ogbia Creek but gave no details of who was on board or any casualties. An aide to Yakowa who asked not to be named said Yakowa had been killed in the crash. Nigeria's 36 state governors are among the most powerful politicians in Africa's biggest oil producer, often controlling budgets bigger than other African countries. Local residents said several high-profile politicians had traveled to Bayelsa, President Goodluck Jonathan's home state, this weekend for a funeral. Jonathan was not in Bayelsa at the time of the crash, the presidency said. Like many African countries, Nigeria has a poor air safety record. Nigeria's deputy police chief and three other officers were killed when a helicopter crashed in the central city of Jos in March. In June, a passenger plane crashed into a densely populated part of Lagos, Nigeria's commercial hub, killing 163 people. Fashion / Re: When A Low Class Person Wears The Same Shirt With You by tobiloba82: 5:12pm On Nov 05, 2012
Never expect to be the only one to wear a particular design or brand of cloth anywhere in the world. Unless you are wearing a customized one(meaning that you must have been the one that brought the idea, even your printer or designer will sell out your designs when he begins to get applause for the job.You will be the loser at the end because you have paid for a distint job to you.
The likes of Ralph leauren,TommyHilfiger, etc never made just one design ,infact they made thousands of the same design.
What you should be concern about is the quality of the textile and the ink or the way the logo is sewn into the textile. As for me, i recognise an authentic and imitation when i see them.

Travel / Re: How Easy Is It To Get Belgium Visa For Education by tobiloba82: 8:40pm On Sep 25, 2012
The money could be in ur a/c or sponsor a/c. your sponsor will have to sign a sponsor form. you will be given the form at their consulate in lekki.
There are jobs for international students in Belgium. Though you will be given 50 days to work in a year without paying social contribution(taxes) if you work more than 50 days in year, you will have to start paying social contributions to the govt.
once you have a good bank account and you can defend the sponsor relationship between both of you, you are good to go. i will give you computer/it related courses' tuition fees later.

There are no tuition free schools in belgium. you can only earn scholarship by luck for master degree. However, the have cheap and affordale master degree courses. i only appreciate their position on bank account statement which is calculate as 519 euros per monthe for a year. the money must reflect that it has been their exactly or over a year. To cut it short, N1.5m. then you are good to go. Some of their masters courses are not more that 3000 euros.
Travel / Re: How Easy Is It To Get Belgium Visa For Education by tobiloba82: 10:25pm On Sep 19, 2012
What i mean is that you must present an account balance worth 6228 euros and the cash must have been there for at least a year. Also documents attached will be legalised and it is 15 euros per document. The embassy will legalise d documents for you. U should be prepare for medical examination too.

Business / Re: Do Not EVER Invest Into Hauling Business In Nigeria........reasons...... by tobiloba82: 10:04pm On Aug 09, 2012
sincerely, i agree 90 percent with you. but i will tell you the truth of the whole story.
1. the hype about the profit is too much. infact i have lost many prospective clients that has called me home and abroad asking me what i can remit monthly into their account. once i tell them, they get cold and think i am trying to outsmart them. infact i always tell them not to go further in the bargain. the moment i give my numbers, i dont care whether they want to do business or not.a lot of these guys on nairaland give them outrageous numbers and that drives their passion. this will push them to over use the truck thinking if the make 5 trips to abuja monthly, they will make money.
2. Most of these guys are not professional in the business.
3. What type of trucks have you been using in the business. i saw in your post where you made mention of rotor and changing of tyres.meaning you dont really know the techniques of managing a driver.. forget these trucks that use rotor engine and filters. e.g freightliner and scania, etc. otherwise you go chop gbese.
Lastly, that you have a bad experience does not mean that all others will. maybe the person you gave it was not competent enough.
Richard Bryson came to nigeria and his fingers were burnt while companies like apm terminals, sifax, startimes, dstv, airtel, mtn and chinkos are making it big in this same country after paying several millions of dollars to the fed govt. so you see that another man's food might be another man's poison.but the truth is i second what you said you never met the right person. abi you want to generalise.

that means truck will have to work between 10pm -5am. let see how it goes. Many people go suffer this one. from port terminal operators-agents-manufacturing firms. that means trucks will have to load and park till 10pm before they move. Customs self go suffer these one. More money from Contrabands anyway.

Business / Re: Business Ideas For Returning Nigerian Diaspora. by tobiloba82: 12:09am On Jul 28, 2012
as profitable as haulage business is, i am not sure a returning nigerian in diaspora will have the time or patience to learn the business, it is better he tries to be a transporter than owning a single truck. however, two trucks upward is better. by that he will have to employ experience individuals and learn from them. he will have to continue to increase his fleet as he makes profit.
but for me, one truck, even two is not enough for a returning diasporian.

Business / Re: Help With A Business Name For My Trucking/haulage Company by tobiloba82: 10:22am On Jul 17, 2012
if you can write a very good trucking/haulage/frieight business plan, you are on your way to get fast loan from a good bank in Nigeria.
mind you a business plan for container haulage is entirely different from oil and gas/ tipper haulage. there are some terminologies that must be seen in each of three. if not found, no bank will give you money.
for example, have you heard of rice and beans in one of these haulages mentioned above, if the banks cant find that phrase, walahi, your business plan will be returned back to you. haulage business is about learning or understudying an experienced fellow before venturing into it. the past mistakes of the experienced fellow will give you through. otherwise bo se lo, lo ma bo. meaning na as you go, you go come back.

THE TRADITIONAL (NIG LTD) OR (KIJA AND SONS) BECAME POPULAR AS A RESULT OF THE INDIGENISATION POLICY. SOCIALLY IN THE 80s AND 90s PEOPLE EARN RESPESCTED WHEN THIER NAMES ARE LINKED TO THE BUSINESSES.
THESE DAYS PEOPLE NO SEND U OOO,UNTIL UR SUCCESS BECOME OBVIOUS. TODAY, MANY BUSINESSES NO GET OFFICE ADDRESS.
MY FRIEND GO AND USE KIJA AND SONS, THEN BECOME SUCCESSFUL AND SEE HOW PEOPLE GO THEY ROLL FOR GROUND FOR YOU.
