Staying at a hotel till I sort something out... Didnt want to stay at the University housing. Have a viewing soon for an apartment. You can check for apartments at spareroom dot co dot uk and then you input your postcodes and then see available property. Never pay for an apartment without signing an agreement or physically visiting oieda: Congrats on arrival.
Please where did you get to stay since you have not booked an accommodation. Or you know someone there? |

Same time frame with me as well.. Got the same message on the 5th... If i dont get the collection mail, I plan on going there tomorrow either ways cos my resumption is next week monday Brianchike: Got the same email and it stated that I wait 3-5 days before I go to collect my documents. However I've seen responses here from people saying they went and asked even before the collection mail came and their documents were there. You could try. All the best.
[qquote author=Timm post=49143353]Urgent advise please
I paid for priority I submitted online on the 25th August 2016 I was interviewed last week Monday 29th 2016 Got a decision mail form Sheffield on Sat 3th Sept 2016 Got another email on the 5th Sept 2016 from TLS Uk that ''your documents and
the decision will be sent back to either the UK Visa Application Centre where you applied, where we will
contact you by email over the next few days to collect them, or if you are using the courier return service, will
be sent directly back to the address you provided.''
Today is 7th, am still yet to get a pick-up message or mail from VFS Ikeja that I can come to pick up my Visa.
Please guys is it sensible for me to go there? Or do I still wait. My programme starts in few days from now. |

There was also mention of "We do not have the visibility to the actual decision made and the location of your documents due to confidential reasons" in your own mail which was not mentioned in mine.. So i doubt any insinuations could be made from a mail.. .. Next week no far.. will update you all on the outcome ... chuksbenin: Once you receive the collection mail, you can go. It might come on Monday though. I observed they advise some people not to book flights or pay for accommodation on the decision email while they omit this in some people's emails. In my own case I wasn't told not to. We're you? |

I contacted the UKVI for feedback as regards my application and received this mail: Dear xxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Thank you for contacting the UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry Service. We understand that you would like to know about the current status of your visa application. I have tracked the status (GWxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and date of birth ) and found that the application has been processed and it should be with you in the next few days. For security purposes and data protection policy, we cannot disclose the outcome of your application. Please note that your passport and documentation could still take some time to reach you whilst being sent back from the decision making centre and whilst other administrative formalities are completed. The visa application centre will be in contact with you regarding the collection or delivery. If you have purchased a courier service then your documents will be dispatched to the delivery address you have provided. We appreciate your patience while you wait to receive your documents. We advise that you do not make any payments for accommodation, travel and so on until you have received your visa. I think your friend could take the chance to apply... Just avoid stating you overworked.. its shooting yourself in my opinion. Moreover nowhere on the application requests you reveal that kind of information. This is what I think shaa.. others may have a contrary opinion. Goodluck with the PhD. Thyme2fly: Thanks for ur reply. Of course there is academic progression its from masters to PhD. Just d overworked part that is d dilemma.... |

A friend wanted to apply for student visa and he overworked in his previous student visa. He had stayed outside UK for more than a year. He is afraid of being refused on general grounds. Should he state in his application that he breached his previous immigration rule bearing in mind that he has been outside UK for more than a year.
Pls your urgent response is highly needed. Thanks in advance Before applying for a new tier 4 visa I think key questions would be asked as to sincere purpose of going to the UK; there is the clause of progression that would be put into consideration, is the course at a higher level than his previous course or at the same level. If it is at the same level then I believe given the circumstances, the ECO would consider if the applicant has genuine reasons to come back for study. If it is at a higher level, then maybe the genuine nature of his intentions may be considered. With regards to stating he overworked.. that will be shooting his/herself in the leg as he is obviously stating he intentionally went against the rules .. what would suggest he wont do the same if granted another visa?... There is no section stating you should reveal that he went against the work rules on his prior so my suggestion would be avoid stating it if he/she still wants to take the risk of applying...Future advise to others granted visas, please dont contravene the terms of your visas to avoid this kind of situation; you may want to go back sometime in the future for further studies |

I'm contemplating whether to give attention to it or wait for my visa. I did my biometrics and interview on 23rd August and got confirmation of the receipt of my application at Sheffield on 31st August. I suppose I should get a decision mail before Friday next week. All must be well! |

fizzile: Does it mean the VOs don't verify from the banks what you truely have in your account? As in do they depend solely on the statement you present. Cos am having same challenge; I will need some money to pay for the visa, ihs and oda stuffs of which I have as part of the money in the account. Will it be right to print my statement den withdraw the amount I need? Which brings me back to the question, will they in anyway verify if what is on ur statement is EXACTLY what u have in ur account? Am not talking of the authenticity of the statement but the EXACT amount on the statement and what u have in d account. cc:sassyboochic, MrsF, Mrsdaniels, olowoB, chucksbenin In my opinion, I believe they verify the amounts held for 28 days. And this can be verified b cross-referencing your bank balance at the 28 day with your bank (not too sure)... I however doubt you will be refused if you spend out of the funds in your account on application fee. This is my opinion about this... Doesnt necessarily mean you should go and fork out a huge amount from your account after application shaa.. |

dee95: Please i'm a bit confused: I printed my bank statement but used out of the money to pay for my application etc after. Now the money left will definitely not be what was on the statement by printed but is still above the requires funds... My question is; when I write oanda rate, should I write what the closing balance is in pounds today? Or just the conversation rate P.s: applied today I believe it is just the funds on the 28 days following the print that would be put into consideration by the ECO.. As for the OANDA rate, the money which should be written in your application is the money available by the close of balance for the 28 days in your account... (The oanda rate used by the ECO is the rate for the date of application for the visa i.e. in your case today) |

Timm: I finally submited and had my interview done today. Thank you for all your inputs. I forgot to submit my oanda sheet and passport photograph, I hope this will not be used against me. I want to advise anyone who is planning to submit his/herapplication should remember to print self assessment form. I didt go with mine because I didt see it on the application website when I was filling my application. I had to pay 21naira per page at the teleperformance centre in Ikj. .. For the OANDA sheet, it is not necessary as I believe the ECO checks this to verify themselves.... However for the passport I dont know... Fingers crossed and wish you the best |
