WebmastersTwitter Is Down For The Second Time In A Day by TobyKelechi(op): 2:31pm On Jan 19, 2016
The site appeared to have stopped responding, at about 12.30am GMT+1 time.

The new outage follows a morning where Twitter — including the website, mobile apps and TweetDeck — were all offline. They came back up again at around 11am, but appear to have gone offline again.

Just like the earlier outage, the Twitter site is showing a little robot and a message that something is “technically wrong”.

The first time Twitter went down, its @Support account tweeted that “Some users are currently experiencing problems accessing Twitter. We are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution”.

Twitter’s status page was updated to reflect the earlier outage this morning. The site did not say then that the problem had been fixed, and so it is likely that the new outage is linked to the old one.

PoliticsFederal Government Set To Introduce Biometrics For Payment Of Ex-militants by TobyKelechi(op): 6:14pm On Jan 09, 2016
A source has disclosed that the Buhari administration has decided to procure the use of biometrics (i.e. finger prints) of every recipient of the Amnesty program.

The Amnesty program was introduced by former president Late Umaru Musa Yar’adua in 2009 in order to meet the problems of the militants in Niger Delta.

According to the source, the decision to get the biometrics was reached to annihilate the problem of “ghost ex-militants” whose salaries go to other individuals.

Following the series of violent protests at different banks in Warri and Port Harcourt by former militants who accused the bank of stalling payment of salaries, some of these banks have hinted on withdrawal from being a part of the amnesty program due to their inability to account for individuals who receive payment from the amnesty program.

Hopefully, the biometrics will help resolve this issue.

Celebrities2face Officially Changes His Name To 2baba by TobyKelechi(op): 5:10pm On Jan 09, 2016
The International award winning singer 2face Idibia has changed his name on social media platforms to @official2baba.

This transformation which he announced on January 9 2016 on twitter has resulted in 2baba losing his “ticked” blue verification badge on twitter and instagram.

But anyway, we hope he gets it back. After all, he’s the great 2face, I mean, 2baba.

We are not sure why he decided to make this huge change (maybe, that’s just how he wants to begin the New Year) but it’s all good. @2face and 2baba is still one and the same person.

So all we have to do now is watch and hope that this rebranding leads to a new release, or maybe an album.

SportsGuardiola Says He Wants To Leave Bayern And Coach In The Premier League by TobyKelechi(op): 2:02am On Jan 08, 2016
Pep Guardiola has revealed he did not extend his contract at Bayern Munich because he wants to manage in the Premier League.

Guardiola was speaking at his first press conference since announcing he will leave the Bundesliga champions at the end of the season.

He said: “I haven’t decided on a new club yet. I want to experience a new city and I want to work in England. That is the reason I have taken this decision.

“I have some offers from England, but I’ve not signed anything yet. If I were 60, 65-years-old, I’d stick with Bayern, but I think I’m too young. I need a new challenge.

“My career is a long way from over and when I have a new club it will be the club that makes the announcement. At the moment I cannot say anything else because nothing is fixed.”

Guardiola has said he is ready for ‘a new challenge’ in the Premier League

Guardiola’s departure at the end of his third season in Bavaria – and his replacement Carlo Ancelotti – were announced by the club on December 20.

The 44-year-old has since been linked with Chelsea after Jose Mourinho was sacked, and also with Manchester City and Manchester United.

Guardiola ruled out the prospect of persuading any of Bayern’s star names to join him at his new club, saying: “I will not take any players. They have to stay here.”

Guardiola took over from Jupp Heynckes in the summer of 2013 on a three-year contract and has won back-to-back Bundesliga titles, as well as the DFB-Pokal, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

That haul is almost certainly going to be added to this season, complementing an impressive trophy haul that includes, amongst others, two Champions League and three Primera Division titles from his time as Barcelona boss.

City remain the bookmakers’ favourites to give Guardiola his first taste of management in England; the Spaniard previously worked with City’s chief executive Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Beguiristain during his time at Barcelona.

Guardiola is the bookmakers’ favourite to take over from Manuel Pellegrini

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is said to be a great admirer of Guardiola and is on the look-out for a permanent successor to Mourinho, with Guus Hiddink in interim charge at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season.

As for United, Louis van Gaal’s immediate future seems secure but the Old Trafford board could possibly be tempted to replace one former Bayern Munich boss with another.
