Good afternoon everyone.
I need your suggestions on how to softly and respectfully respond to my bosses decision on restructuring our working days.

In our annual closing meeting for the year 2023, my boss passively said as a Muslim he was considering closing all his construction site on Friday and replace Fridays with Sundays.
His reason was that he is a Muslim and by extension the company a Muslim company.
So he doesn’t want any work activities on Friday but Sundays is now compulsory.

However since this year we have been working Fridays and staying home Sundays of which he is aware and sometimes often come around to see us working on Fridays and even add certain things for us to do.

Not until last weekend he brought up the idea again of no work Friday and Sunday work compulsory.
And this time he was very serious about it and even went further to say whoever cannot deal with it should walk away.

He has been a nice boss over the years and quite surprised about this his decision.

I need suggestions on how to respectfully tell him that is quite a bit over board and his decision might seem to be a kind of religious intolerance.

We have told him of disadvantages of working on Sundays in terms of getting materials and in case of unforeseen circumstances and emergencies.
You can’t achieve on Sunday what you can achieve on a Friday in construction.
But he seem not to look at it from that perspective.
