TemihSmart:Nice one. It's a very delicious meal |
From my observations in Togo, it seems phones are quite cheaper in Nigeria compared to Togo. I need help with the current prices of brand new iphone from iphone 5s, 6s up to the latest. I will really appreciate anyone who can help me with price list please. |
Mariangeles:Thank you so much, sorry I haven't been on Nairaland since so I just saw your message now. I'm actually busy with some stuffs now but don't worry I will update some nice food, drinks and places in Togo. |
Mariangeles:I know I didn't spell the word correctly because here their spellings are always very different from the pronunciation. I will definitely try all their delicacy and upload as much as I can on this platform. Thanks for the inspiration. |
Dear Nairalanders, happy Valentine's day in advance to you all. As my adventure continues in the land of Togo, I thought it nice to share some nice dishes you wouldn't want to miss whenever you visit Togo for any reason. Picture 1 is actually an ivorian dish call acheke (please don't mind my spelling if I got it wrong). It's actually like very small rice grains but I don't know how they make it. It's mostly prepared and eaten with fish, sliced pepper, tomato, onions etc. Some people mix mayonnaise inside. However it's done, trust me it's an amazing meal to devour. Picture 2 is the regular spaghetti we all know but all the mende mende that they garnished it with is what I really don't know but it's definitely a very delicious meal when you taste it. Picture 3 is basically called kuskus jollof. In appearance it looks like the acheke in picture one but it taste differently more like scrambled rice and is prepared just like you prepare your regular jollof rice. With all the mende mende sauce put along side, trust me it's a mouth watery dish you can't help but taste it. With time I will show you all some of their major local dishes like akume, fufu, wache, zugbon, koliko and so on.

ilebaye2017:Sorry I just got to see your message now. I will check my dm and respond to you. |
Bernardnwangwa:Brotherly sorry I'm just seeing this your message. I swear I wasn't expecting too many messages like this on my post so I found it very difficult reading all and responding. Actually I'm in Baguida area and I have heard of that Akodessewa but I haven't been there because I don't waka anyhow. I will send you a message via email so that we can exchange contact. To be honest I am already negotiating a place I want to start a small nice bar and that their spaghetti cafeteria they like alot, but I want to also include pepper soup and nkwobi. I am working on the budget so I believe you will be of help to me based on how to get crates and empty bottles for the bar. I will be in touch for sure. |
TruthinAction:1000 naira now is equal to 1000 cfa now. In terms of feeding it is cheaper here because that 1000 cfa I quoted is actually what the low class family 4-5 people can use for feeding everyday. For example, it is their culture that a man gives his wife at least 500-1000 cfa everyday for feeding of the house. As a bachelor, if I use that 1000 cfa or 1,500 cfa to cook soup or stew with rice or their local corn meal called akume which is like semovita, I can use the soup two days if I store it properly. As for doing business here, there are also no restrictions at all and nothing like extortion unlike Nigeria. They know Nigerians here as business minded people and that is why they seem to envy Nigerians alot. There is nothing like police disturbance or any form of harassment or intimidation once you behave yourself, live a gentle life and be friendly with people around you. |
dollarnaira:This is how much in naija?
|
Memberclub:I never mentioned keke but an Apsonic tricycle. If you don't know it find out about it. It's used for carrying loads and not passengers. |
murmee:Yes you are right. I'm on the run from generator wahala, from sleeping with one eye open every night. One is not even safe traveling even a short distance anymore in Nigeria. Since I was born till I left Nigeria I have never experienced 24/7 light for a week ever before. No body knows when armed robbers or terrorist will strike. My brother, I am truly on the run from the bad atmosphere of things for now. You can stay and enjoy your life there, I no hold you but I'm sure these things happening in naija has not yet touched you or your family so keep waiting till it reaches you then you will understand. |
Mozegee:You can get nice one for 15k to 20k depends on the area. |
BJanta:1-1 Cfa and Naira are equal now. Naira is very low now. |
legba1:Cfa is equal to naira now so 30k cfa is same as 30k naira. |
Sheuns:I am in the process already and it's not difficult. They just need your passport (not any ID card), then proof of address signed by the police that's all. Then at least 5k. |
charlesELIKIBA:I know I tried to make the story short because I can't just write every details so it's not like if I did everything in a week or month, I had made necessary enquiry and got help as well from Nigerians I met here. They have been here for long and even speak french and the local language. |
jaxxy:My brother, is it by force to stay in Nigeria? I needed a change of environment and a new experience which is my personal choice and doesn't have to be the sort of choice you will make. One man's meat is another man's poison. |
princewarri1985:France or Canada is my target and it's easier from here as I heard. That aflao is Ghana border side and lots of travers that side probably why the hotel you got was 7,000. The driver I met at Benin Republic/ Togo border was the person who showed me the cheap hotel in an area called Baguida. So I didn't even get to main Lome my first day until the guys I met took me to Lome and I got to know the Aflao border as well. |
emmykk:There is a procedure for high purchase and the police will sign it. The original papers remain with me till payment is complete. Copies of my ID and that of the driver and his shortee are with police. Here in Togo they fear their police like how we fear army in naija. |
seunny4lif:Right now it's N1k to 1k CFA. Naira don cast. |
iReddington:Is this called a keke in Nigeria?
|
kingthreat:The daft person here is you who cannot read or understand simple write-up. Ode |
luemz:Thanks for the info I will try it out. |
Davidganna10:Honestly you have read my mind. I am searching for where I can enrol for french classes so that I learn the french. My plan is to find way to France or Canada. |
Kilotat:Amen!!! I appreciate. |
AYNL:Thanks |
NoahHadNoArk:Amen!!! I receive it. |
Merlissa:Thanks brother. |
Kriss216:My ears are on the ground, I heard most of them here came to hustle so I dey my lane. |
Happy new month to everyone and I wish to thank God for his grace so far. I have been a hustler for long trying to make ends meet and at a point I was able to save about 1.5million naira to travel to China but unfortunately I was duped and my hard earned money went to voicemail. I kept struggling and saving money to go to Europe but I was denied visa twice to two different countries and then I gave up. I decided not to travel again but the stress and insecurity in Nigeria has been worrisome especially in my region so I decided to travel to any french speaking African country and just experience a whole new different life outside Nigeria. My initial plan was to go to Burkina Faso or Equitorial Guinea and I did some research that would guide me as I didn't know anyone in both countries and I was just determined to go on this adventure myself. I saved up some money which got to almost 3 million naira and then I crossed my heart and made my trip. From Nigeria I crossed into Benin Republic and then to Togo where I was supposed to cross to Burkina Faso. On getting to Togo it was quite late so I had to pass the night in a cheap hotel of 2000cfa franc. In the hotel I met some Nigerians going to Ghana with some friends based in Togo. I was hearing their conversations as they drank at the bar while I sat alone with a bottle of their local beer Castle. Being that in Togo I discovered they hardly speak English, I decided to introduce myself to those Nigerians so that I can make some enquiry from them and that was how we all got talking and gisting till late night. The guys based in Togo told me alot about Togo and how life is cheap if one has some capital to get accommodation and start a small business. I was made to understand there is steady light, water and security in the small country. The next day I was suppose to leave for Burkina Faso I decided to pay for the hotel room for a week and explore Togo a bit. The guys I met that were based in Togo already were really helpful and they took out time to show me around, know the prices of stuffs and where to buy cheap stuffs as well. I began to fall in love with the country except for the fact that most people don't understand English, though some try to understand and speak a little so you have to scatter the English for them to understand. I decided to find a house and few days was enough for that. I got a room and parlor self contained house for 30,000cfa a month and paid a year which is 360,000cfa. They hold 6 months as deposit and after six months I start paying 30,000cfa monthly or anyhow I wish to stretch it based on my pocket. I just furnished it a little and I am just chilling with steady light on a brief. The house has a prepaid meter so I recharge and use according to my power. After making some deep enquiry about what business to start at least for now, I bought a tricycle they call Apsonic here in Togo. It cost 1.4million cfa brand new plus the plate number registration and all. Then I found a driver who took it on hire purchase to balance 2.5million cfa at 25,000cfa per week. My good people, I know I have not reached where I am going but I bless God for where I am coming from. Right now I just relax myself planning my next move while every Saturday I wait to receive my weekly salary. With life here if you are someone that knows how to manage, even 1000cfa can feed you a whole day so I am really doing my best to see how much I can save by the end of this year over here and know my next move. Please you all pray for me as I also pray for you all. The journey of a thousand miles always start with a footstep. |
