Thank you @Lekiboboe. I have googled what GCM notes are and here's the explanation I got;

The GCMS (Global Case Management System) is a system used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to process immigration and citizenship applications. ... GCMS notes are considered to be the only option for applicants to get the most accurate and exhaustive view of their IRCC file.

Now for me that is going for a student visa, do I need this GCM? If yes, how does it work really?

Hi,

While you wait for contributions/inputs from the Gurus and other Members.

See this

1) Your CGPA is ok to apply for a Masters since its a 2.1.

Most Canadian Universities require a Minimum of 2.1 to gain a Masters Admission, many of them are not always specific about the 2.1 CGPA. So you know, Masters Admission is not about CGPA only, there is more to it e.g Research Potentials/Ability, Publications (if any) etc. There are many applicants who has less than your CGPA but got a Mastwrs Admission.

So in a nutshell, coupled with some hard work and your 2.1 CGPA, yes you can get a Masters Admission.

2) Get your GCM notes, so you can address/tackle the reasons the Visa Officer refused your application.

Also, one can easily assume you didn't show cogent reasons in your Statement of Purpose (SOP) why you opted for a Post Graduate Program instead of a Masters Program despite having a CGPA that qualifies you to apply for a Masters

Your GCM note will shed more light on that

Hi @Akannitommy [quote author=FrostyButter post=98038173]I read through your post and I must say; you're really vast in this Canada PR / Study permit details.
I am seeking advice from anyone in the house... In 2019 I tried applying for a Masters (in these programs: Project Mgt, MBA, Research & Development) in Canada but to no success. I later stumbled on a company called SnowFox in Lekki Lagos who claimed to be an EduConsultant. Eventually, they secured a Post graduate degree for me with Fleming College in Ontario on the basis that I did not qualify for a Masters because of my Undergrad CGPA which was 3.64.

The claimed that Canada doesn't accept anyone with a CGPA of 3.6 and below for Masters. Without further ado, I accepted the admission offer for the PGD in Project Management. Fast forward to 2020, covid happened and delayed my visa application. I submitted my Student visa application in September and on January 13th, I received a letter or refusal from Canada Immigrations.

I what I need help/clarification with are these;
1. Can I secure a Masters in Canada with that CGPA? If yes, kindly share any step by step guide or tips for success.
2. Can I appeal or contest my student visa refusal? If yes, please share any ideas or ways to go about it.

Thank you in anticipation of your response.
