Politics › Re: IDP Camp Couples Share Their Love Stories (PIX) by Tolexander: 5:30am On Jul 24, 2016
Umar’s present state is still blurred by the memory of her recent past. But the love she has found in the IDP camp has helped her move on with life, she told SUNDAY PUNCH. At the time our correspondent visited, her husband was not available for comments. But she expressed joy in finding him in the camp.
hmmmm,
Love!!!! smiley
Now I'm understanding what Shane was saying in the Westlife's flying without wing.

Everybody's looking for that something
One thing that makes it all complete
You'll find it in the strangest places
Places you never knew it could be

Some find it in the face of their children
Some find it in their lover's eyes
Who can deny the joy it brings
When you've found that special thing

You're flying without wings
Politics › Re: El-Rufai To Demolish 40 Churches, 3500 Houses, 16 Schools by Tolexander: 5:07am On Jul 24, 2016
Mr. Chris Obodum, Chairman, Gbagyi Community, later told journalists that the community boasted of about 3,500 buildings, 40 churches, 16 schools and 35,000 residents. He narrated: ‘The story of Gbagyi Villa is easy to understand. For hundreds of years, the area has been inhabited by the Gbagyi people.
trying to play a "religious victim" card to attract and appeal to people's pity and attention.

He mentioned the number of churches in the community and every other structures but failed to mention the number of mosques, trying to act as if it is an absolute christian community just because the Governor is a Muslim.

Fantastically corrupt country. If my father should admit to stealing, I will disown him and petition God to deal ruthlessly with him, because they are part of the reason people are starving in IDP camps.

The irony of the matter in Nigeria is that, almost all these looters are aided by there sons and daughters. I don't know why I absolutely believe this poster I quoted won't be an exemption to the trend!

I decided to handover N400, 000 to each of the 20 students as scholarships for their education for four years. Ordinarily, it would have been N100, 000 each year but since am not sure if I will continue as Deputy Senate President until tomorrow, we have decided to give it out at once to ensure that nothing hapoens to the education of these young ones.
You claimed nobody can remove you from the seat, yet you were still saying you are not sure if you will still be on that seat tomorrow!

Well,
Heaven can't wait, we're only watching the sky

This Ooni Adeyeye seems to be the new Ooni Adesoji Aderemi.

I guess Oba Adesoji Aderemi is his role model. Little wonder he chooses to live in the palace Aderemi lived instead of his predecessor's palace.

Thank you OP for the nice work done.

Imagine what Tribalism has done to our nation and the effects on our mental and social activities. The poster of that false thread intentionally gave the first position to UNN in order to prove a point the South Eastern university is better, just because he/she was not happy seeing the South-west Universities in the top spots

The moderators should please try to scrutinize every news and link before recommending them to the supermoderators. Though we understand the new system of tagging the supermoderators has rendered some mods to just banning erring posters.

The supermoderators are meant to critically check these kinda sensitive infos before moving them to the homepage and not being trivial with them. This is not about snake ranking but universities.

I stumbled on this picture in my Uncle's house, and then he asked me to guess who was standing beside him. I suppose the person should be his friend. I mention all the names of his friends I knew and couldn't have guessed better. To my suprise he eventually told me that was the Ooni of Ife standing beside him and further narrated their joint experiences back in Secondary school, Loyola College, Ibadan.
Moral: Don't undermine anyone, the person standing beside you could go on to become "ori apesin" like yorubas will say meaning: A great person...My uncle on(Middle row 2nd right) Ooni(Middle row third right) Mid 80's
OP, e be like say your Uncle don bobo you o, I no see anyone wey resemble Ooni for the third right in the middle row.

Ask your uncle very well o, e fit dey sell dummy o!

Nigeria can now engage in a bilateral trade with the South Korean. South Korea can now import their technology into Nigeria while we export our miracle to South Korea.

Politics › Re: Meet The First Five Nigerians Commissioned Into The Nigerian Army by Tolexander: 10:25am On Jul 23, 2016
tunjijones:
The Nigerian Armed Forces prides itself as the fourth largest on the African continent (after South Africa, Egypt and Ethiopia) and it is the dream of many Nigerian youths to join one of its arms someday. The Nigerian Army is the largest component of the Nigerian Armed Forces and today we are going to take a look at the very first five Nigerians commissioned into the Nigerian Army with a little historical background:

The Nigeria Regiment was formed throughout the First and Second World Wars and throughout this period, not a single Nigerian was commissioned as an officer in the Regiment. But that was not to last because with time, the agitations for independence after the Second World War which in ended in 1945 from British rule by the Nigerian nationalists increased, the Colonial Office saw that it was pointless delaying the formation of a proper Army. The colonialists put things in place to prepare the Army for the inevitable and eventual takeover of command and leadership by a Nigerian Officer Corps. The most brilliant and few outstanding non-commissioned officers (NCOs) with shiny educational backgrounds who were already serving in the technical departments of the Nigeria Regiment as Ordnance, Engineers and Signals, were sent to Eaton Hall Officer Cadet School for Officer Training. When they successfully completed the course, they were granted Short Service Commission. These were the first five:
