Soole " was a Mad man who was well known by Offa dwellers since 70s, He used to stay Opp.Offa Grammar school, OGS.. I knew him too. Apart of holding his genitals, I also observed his love for Coke, I do tell people, that have not seen anyone who drinks Coke more than him. I learnt he died yesterday at an old age and I got some pictures of his life and his burial..Today is my birthday and yesterday, I lost two people (Soole, and a cousin: Ayanda Nurudeen) to the cold hand of death.. may their souls rest in peace.. This is a piece written by an individual on Soole, CYCLE OF MADNESS Life is not always associated with sanity. It is based on both rational and irrational arrangements. Even before general human creation, Satan had displayed his irrational behavior before his Creator out of arrogance and sheer ignorance. Therefore, the level of madness (insanity) in this world especially in Nigeria should not be isolated but it must become a source of concern for all and sundry. This piece is titled "Cycle of Madness ". As a young boy on the streets of Ipee, Ijagbo and Offa (all in Kwara State), I was used to seeing many people who were mentally unfit. I would ask my elders what was wrong with them, the answers I got were "they were mad". I began to ask myself and other people around what were the causes of their madness and what factors could lead to one being declared mad or mentally unstable. Many believed it was spiritual while others felt it could be self inflicted. Which one it was, I was still worried about their number in these three communities (I spent my first twenty years there). The most popular among them were: Soole, Iya Mumini, Iya Joke and Kasali (a well trained and disciplined Police officer). I was told Kasali was inflicted with the condition by a man he was ordered to arrest. Everyone testified he was an incorruptible officer. (He was in the condition for more than three decades, huh). I am going to centre this thought on "The dynamics of the impacts of madness on the Nigerian Economy". Research has clearly shown that there is a strong link between mental ill-health and poverty. Poverty increases the risk of mental instability. As well, mental illness leads one easily into poverty. Economic crises negatively affect the population's mental health. Madness to me does not just exist but it based on the society in which it exists. Many countries have it as a legislation to cater for the mentally unfits. Such doesn't matter in Nigeria, however. Do we even care for the sane? Madness is everywhere and it can manifest at any time. An unexpected event make a most reasonable man to behave most irrationally even without probable and close solutions. Economic hardship can damage human sensibility. Can we all see how close a man to the edge of madness. The positive impacts of these mentally challenged beings cannot be underestimated. At times, they stay in the middle of the road controlling traffic while the "sane one" become impatient for orderliness to be restored. Some said some things to us which we thought were statements of the mad but they later became useful to us. In fact, some people will believe that such mad persons were their angels. Also, many of us watch the displays of these mentally challenged and we forget our sorrows at that time making us to appreciate God for His mercies over us, at least. Most of our comedians today display halftime madness and yet realize huge fortunes from their "madness." It may also interest you to know that a psychiatrist gets his meals and pays other bills from the attention he gives to the mentally challenged beings, therefore, with their absence, he becomes irrelevant in the society. From all the examples of benefits of the mad people highlighted above, it can be evidently seen that mad people contribute immensely economically to any reasonable society. In fact, a mad person does not lie. Truth is the bedrock of economic harmony and prosperity. While the mad people actually deserve our help, care and pity, how about the self made (another form of) mad people. These ones really deserve our condemnations and curses. We are not to celebrate them. We should not see hard work as one thing that does not pay. While I hope to conclude my thoughts on the other form of mad people in next piece, I pray that God protects us from "real" and safe made madness. Once again, I still say RIP "SOOLE"

Post office should be common for all states, so that's why am suggesting that |
For the nationwide protest holding on 5th of Feb 2017, It will be better if there is proper coordination concerning the gathering/converging venues in all the 36states and fct..is remaining a week now,,,I suggest that other states aside Lagos and Abuja, can use the General Post office as the converging point, cos all states have it and it is always centrally located in the capital...Am supporting the protest with all my strength and resources, and have been mobilizing for support from people..may God grant us victory for this call on Good governance....we can use this thread for venues suggestion, so on Thursday all venues can be circulated on the media.. #isupporttheproteston5thfeb |
Just on 17th Nov someone sent me this story, it was so interesting, and just 25days that I read it, it became a reality. If you have not read it before, read it below . Copied: The Monkey Money Madness! (MMM) Once upon a time in a village, a man appeared and announced that he would buy monkeys for N100 each. The villagers seeing that there were so many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them. The man bought thousands at N100 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their efforts. He further announced that he would now buy at N200. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. Soon the supply diminished and people started going back to their farms. The offer rate increased to N250 but the supply of monkeys became so little that it took much effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch one. The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at N500! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on his behalf. In the absence of the man, his assistant told the villagers: ''Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that my OGA has bought from you, I will sell them to you at N350 and when my OGA returns from the city, you can sell it to him at N500''. The villagers squeezed out all their HARD EARNED savings and bought all the monkeys. The most greedy ones among them even sold their lands to purchase many MONKEYS, hoping to make a huge profit without labor. Then... They never saw the man or his assistant. Only monkeys everywhere! Welcome to #MMM. The world of Monkeys !!! |

Bayero University Kano (BUK) on Friday Sept. 9, conducted test for candidates seeking admission into the university. The development was against the ban on post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu. 64,000 candidates applied for admission into the university for 6,500 openings. Daily Trust reports that the number of applicants reduced to 21, 000 but when the second screening was conducted the candidates came down to 16,000. “Nothing changed from the previous method. The candidates sat for an objective test on Friday and that was how it was with the post-UTME,” a source said. A candidate, Hamida Lawal Adam, told the newspaper that they were directed to go into an examination hall, after which they were given sheets for the test. “There was no written examination. We were only given sheet for an objective test. You would show your examination card, after which you are allowed entry into the examination hall,” she said. Another candidate, Aliyu Ibrahim, said, “I thought there will be no test in whatever form following the federal government’s directive, but in the end, we did it.” Director Public Affairs of the University, Alhaji Ahmad Shehu said the institution had not violated the directives of the federal government regarding the post-UTME. “Before the scrap, the test had three components, including written exam and analytical method of exam, but following the directives, we have suspended all these. “So, the test we conducted on Friday, did not in any way violate the directive,” he said. Reacting, the Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, in the Federal Ministry of Education, Mr. Ben Bem Goong said “any institution that violates the earlier directives on post-UTME, will be sanctioned.” dailypost.ng/2016/09/11/post-utme-bayero-university-kano-disregards-fgs-order/ |

In Nigeria, if you don't know the movers and the shakers, you are on your own? |
Let the government act, |
Recent reports said the naira has shed almost 40% against the dollar in almost a year, making it the worst performing currency globally. I think this is unprecedented, and this has made naira to be most valueless in Nigeria history. Though, the APC told us, they will make Nigeria naira to be more stronger, and even I saw one of their campaign advert which says is N216 to $1 OKAY? TIME TO SPEAK OUT NOW. VOTE APC, So many Nigerians believed this too, but now, in just over one year of the APC, dollar is on the record high of N414 to $1. Ironically, most people are thinking that this present administration is winning the war on corruption , but this is not true, corruption has grown higher. They only try to block corruption on public funds, and fight very few past Nigerians. Unless buhari fight corruption in the forex system, by fighting the corrupt people( government officials , Banks and CBN staffs, politicians and businessmen) who are hoarding the dollars, selling as they want and who are in their bedrooms making billions daily: the war on corruption will continue to be a far cry. The issue of dollar affects the increase in prices of all commodities , and actually common people are suffering the most. I know some people will say : we should patronize made in Nigeria goods to make Naira stronger , I support this but I think it will be gradual, and we are not ready because we need enabling environment and stable power supply, so companies here can produce at cheaper price at better quality too. Buhari : May God bless and help you, but please fight these corrupt people affecting our forex too, Corrupt people: please change your ways and don't be selfish and greedy, you are rich already. Nigerian:speak out now, and stop blaming the past governments alone on every issues.... it will be Better ! but this is for those who survive the worst moment |

The girl, he said look exactly like Emmanuela, the teeth is like Emmanuela's teeth and even the way he walks, laugh, talk, and joke look like the original Emmanuela..i learnt the little girl is also funny,..Maybe in the nearest future they can meet to know each other..check the pictures that some people took with the girl . I hope to be a celebrity too, so people can show me my look-alike

Hello my people, This day 23/7, has always bn a memorable day for me cos its my birthday..Oya wish me Happy Birthday first before you continue reading... But today I took my precious mum to the park, but when I was coming back, I met people gathered,so It was when I parked that I was told a man boarded a taxi at dangotte area of ilorin, he sat at d front seat, and he died before getting to Offa garage junction, its just like 5mins drive that the man died... It was so sad, when people called d last calls on his phone, we learnt he was going with them to a ceremony..They later came... But what made me to be sadder was that, when d man gashed, and showing the sign of last breath, the taxi driver packed, even he didn't park well, and he ran out of d vehicle, told d people around, and he took a bike to a police station..its sad, the fear of police trouble made him not to take d man to the hospital, even people who gathered with the man's friends cant act because of police fear, we waited for close to 2hrs before police came, took picture, and take him away... in all, pls we must change our laws in Nigeria, must people fear police than d life of a dying people..people don't want to help to avoid police wahala .instead of hospital, is police station..even the man may not have died if timely taken to the hospital..its seems is heart attack sha, but may God save us as numerous people are battling with various health challenges,,we even learnt the man shows no sign of illness this early morning...Death can come anytime. Let's do good all the time... This dent my birthday, but God must be praised in all things... MOD help celebrate my birthday by moving this to front page.. Thanks
