Romance / Re: My Fiancee Is Too Attractive For Comfort by Tomme(f): 8:06pm On Jun 10, 2008
Me thinks you worry too much for your own good!
You have a very beautiful and attractive woman who has decided you are the love of her life to the extent of being committed to you and you worry that she wouldn't wait for you to get the financial muscles for the wedding. WAKE UP!

Didn't she see the rich, young succesful men there before pitching her tent with you? That should tell you that there's something about you that she adores.

Don't listen to the advice of people like "Busta" who say you should get her pregnant. That is not the way to go about it.
Why don't you talk to her and lay your cards on the table? By doing that you'll get her direct response on the whole issue.
What if you get her pregnant and she still decides to leave you? or do you think the present day upwardly moblie woman would allow a pregnancy to tie them to any man? If you hold that view, DREAM ON

Finally, trust your fiancee and love her and trust me, she'll stick around with you
Romance / Re: Should Our Boyfriends Assist Us Financially Without Us Having To Ask? by Tomme(f): 6:29pm On Jun 10, 2008
I think while it is quite true that a woman should be independent and try to fend for herself, it goes without gainsaying that there comes a time in everybody's life where you'll need the help of another whether financial or otherwise.

For a woman in a relationship, her boyfriend is her rock and solace in this times of distress.
For the guy she loves to act aloof in a time like this would only convey the message of an uncaring, selfish person to her and if she cannot find the boldness to ask him for help, she'll get help somewhere else.
But she'll never forget how he treated her then and it may affect their relationship
For a guy to say he owes no obligation to no woman except his wife is wrong.
If that is the case, keep your d**k and pocket till u get maried.

I'm not saying that a guy has to pay for sex, but with every act comes responsibility,
If a woman trusts u enough to let u into her life, her heart and her body, it is the least that u can do to help her out of a tight spot.

I'm not talking about extravagant girls who think every man is their 'mugu', i'm talking about responsible girls in relationship with responsible guys.

So guys, i guess its time u took up your responsibilities and stopped running away from them under one pretence or the other.
Romance / Re: Do Perfect Relationships Exist? by Tomme(f): 7:45pm On Oct 05, 2007
The notion of a perfect relationship is the boy meets girl, they fall in love and live happily ever after. This happens only in fairy tales. In reality, loving someone and being loved by another is full of ups and downs. Two people from two different backgrounds, families and ideaologies and at times different cultures come together, of course, sparks would fly. However, i believe strongly that a relationship can only be made perfect if the two parties are willing to make it work.
As a result i believe that perfect relationships do exist after the parties have come to understand themselves.

In conclusion, relationships are not beds of roses. They require sacrifices from both parties and only when that is given will such a relationship be deemed a perfect relationship.
Politics / Re: I Won’t Resign - Etteh by Tomme(f): 7:11pm On Oct 05, 2007
Really, Madam Speaker dissappointed me and a whole lot of Nigerian Ladies who were delighted on her appointment as Speaker of a male-dominated House. But Alas! merely 100 days in office and see the mess she got herself into.
Without gainsaying, Madam Speaker was that the proverbial person who has enemies that wanted to fry him and then went to rub himself in oil and sat next to the fire.
She should have known to be more careful in the handling of her financial affairs.
Now that the cat has been let out of the bag, i think the advisable thing would be for the disgraced Madam Speaker to step aside and let peace reign in the House.
Afterall, the position does not belong to her family.
Abi?
