If you have had hair breakage for a long time it must be because you have been doing something wrong. I am happy your are taking part in the hair growth challenge, don't forget to leave a comment on the blog post. If you wash and condition your hair weekly, moisturise and seal daily, wear protective styles and follow the other simple rules of the challenge your breakage would reduce. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
SisiTemi:
I have been struggling with hair that is always breaking all my life. I will enter the challenge to see whether my hair can grow. Need to ask a question. How can these rules stop the breakage and give me long hair?

FashionThe 6 Months Hair Growth Challenge - Easy To Follow Rules & Prize by Tonkabelle(op):
Hello to everyone,

I am hosting a Hair Growth Challenge on my blog and there is a prize to be won at the end of it, if you have a Lagos Delivery Address and even if you are not eligible to win, the prize of having long and healthy hair at the end of the Hair Growth Challenge should be enough to encourage everyone to take part. Here are some of the rules:

1. Start the challenge with a trim, the amount of hair you choose to trim off depends on you. After that keep trimming at the barest minimum, avoid it if possible; if you must trim then dusting of the hair is preferable. Dusting is where such a small amount of hair is trimmed that it falls through the air like dust. (I will be sure to do a future post on dusting and trimming)
2. Wash and condition your hair every one or two weeks.
3. Do a pre-shampoo or hot oil treatment before washing and conditioning your hair (optional)
4. Moisturise and seal your hair daily. (or every other day if this suits you better)
5. Oil your scalp every other day with an oil of your choice such as Wura’s Secret Hair Growth Oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil and so on. You can incorporate a mini massage to ensure that your hair follicles are well stimulated.

For the rest of the rules and how to take part, please visit my blog http://wurassecrethair..com.ng/2016/03/the-new-beginnings-hair-growth-challenge.html

Hope you all enjoy the challenge.

My dear it does not have to be a disaster carrying your own hair for 8 weeks, the key is to moisturise and seal your hair everyday. Also you do not have to comb it everyday just finger comb like twice a week. Over combing the hair and not moisturizing properly will be the cause of your shedding/breakage. If you have itchy scalp I have a dandruff control/anti itch oil that will stop it. Please come back with your results I am sure everything will be fine. All the best.

Carrying my hair for 8weeks will be a disaster, lol! After d 1st few weeks afta retouching,I cnt risk combing and packing my natural hair cos its sheds off at an alarming rate. I've gone thru a few threads and seen stuff on hair breakage, dandruff and itchy scalp(wch is my biggest prob) trust me I've used everytin I can tink, yets same issues.
I just got Braggs apple cidar vinegar(read abt its use smwer in dis section) and caribean black castor oil(cldnt find d jamaican one I read smwer also in dis section)and I've decided on goin on weaving for lik 8weeks while applying all these(including wat u also sugested) on my natural hair. Am not gonna fix or braid. Wil shop for one or two wigs jus incas I need to go out, lol!
I will com bak wit my own results,so helpme God

For you to have asked this question I can see you went on to the blog to read the remaining tips (Thank YOU!). For the first 8 weeks and during the entire duration before relaxing my hair, I wore a bun with my own hair everyday except for about 3 times when I used clip in hair extensions. I do not generally braid or fix my hair. However this does not mean that if one wants to braid or fix their hair they can't. It is all about taking care of the hair when it is in these styles and not neglecting it.

This is so lovely, but how did you carry your hair for 8 weeks.

How to make pure coconut oil. Get 1-2 coconut break it and cut into pieces den blend or grind smooth wit water. Pour it inside pot, put it on a low heat and leave it for a while wen it's turning brown u will see coconut oil coming. Extract d oil d remaining one der is coconut sweet (baba dudu) if u understand yoruba
Thanks for sharing one of the methods. If you would prefer to make coconut oil without having to boil it here is the method to do so. Take about 2 or 3 coconuts and break them, cut into small pieces and remove the brown outer layer. Grate the coconut then blend it. You can add some clean water or coconut water if necessary to the blender. After blending pass the entire liquid through a fine sieve until you are left with only the thick milk. Then transfer the liquid to a container and leave in a cool place for 24 hours check to see that a cream (which is the coconut oil) has formed on top. Then you can put in the fridge for about three hours for the cream to solidify. After that take out of the fridge and scoop out the solid cream with a spoon be sure not to get any water in it. Once the cream melts at room temperature you would be left with your coconut oil.

It depends on the nature of the baldness whether it is concentrated in some areas or whether it is all over and for how long and the reason for it. However it is indeed to possible to grow hair out of a spot that was formerly bald.
