Congratulations my Chief.

Indeed God is gracious.
Your story was one of the major things that both inspired and motivated me to where I am today, and I strongly believe that just as I have started, I too will share my testimony when the time is right.

Congratulations once again Dr. Tonye.
I wish you all the best in the next phases of your life.

Thank you very much, doc. I'm glad my story got you inspired. I'm also waiting patiently to read about your exploits. May God continue to make way for you, and us all.

Best wishes.

Tonye001, I want to be the first to congratulate you here on the successful completion of your medical degree.
You persevered, sacrificed, and I'm happy for you that your dream is here.
You're indeed a source of motivation to anyone who might think he's a bit behind in the medical degree pursuit. With an MSc and married, you took on the seemingly daunting task and it's all over now. Regards to the family.
Congratulations once again, Dr A.I Tonye (Bsc, MSc, MB;BS)

Thank you very much, I appreciate. It's obvious you know me offline, and I'd like to know you too.

Hi Medics,

It's been a very long walk for me. I recall when I first found this thread, it was when I was looking for admission into medschool. I once wrote then that I'd be back here one day to share my testimony. Today is that day. As of yesterday, I qualified as a medical doctor.

The past seven years have really been interesting. I was supposed to finish medschool in 5 years as I was a DE student. But Nigeria happened to me, I got two more years even though I did not repeat any class. But here I am today celebrating success.

I thank you all for all you do here. I thank the creator of this thread (Chief Lagusta). I thank the posters. I thank those that ensured this page didn't die. This thread helped me, it helped many before me, and it will help many after me. I've just concluded my medschool diary, if interested, you may want to read through it.

For all those still in the training, and for those still trying to get in, I wish you all success. It's possible, just continue trying.

Best wishes, friends. Have a great evening.

Dr. Tonye001.

Celebrities / Re: Full Video Of Seun Kuti Brutally Assaulting A Police Officer. by TONYE001(m): 7:09am On May 14, 2023
This is the reason why justice is blindfolded.

If this were the other way round, people would have been screaming for the arrest and prosecution of the policeman.

Mr. Seun should be arrested and prosecuted with no chance for mercy. This is a heavy embarrassment to the police, and it sets a bad precedent.

Travel / Re: Sudan: Update On The Evacuation Of Nigerians - Air Force, Air Peace On Standby by TONYE001(m): 12:57pm On Apr 29, 2023

Is he moving them for free?

Is he being paid? I watched the interview where he said nobody was paying him anything. Is there an update I'm unaware of?

Doesn't take away his selflessness even though he's been paid though. Plus, I've search several online sources, didn't find any material stating that he's being paid. So, until I see an update info, I'd stick to what the CEO said on national TV. After all, the FG has not denied this claim.

Life is beyond all these things you've listed. There's so much to life, don't limit life to buying sports cars and other luxuries.

Dear Nairalanders, so I was born in Nigeria and have lived all my life in this country till this moment ( I'm 22 now). However, my aunt based in United States has offered to bring me to the country. Processing my documents already.

However I'm scared I may put me or her family in trouble when I get there cos America is a civilized country and I'm used to the crude ways and behaviors here which is already part of me and will likely replicate them in America which will surely put me in trouble with the law.

Behaviors like urination on the streets, throwing garbage on the road and many uncivilized behaviors too numerous to mention. So please how do I Behave myself over there. Thanks for reading.

There is nothing Nigerian about urinating on the streets and indiscriminate waste disposal.

These are personal habits that can be corrected once the individual is determined.

Its a business stunt. You want to make Nigerians think you care so as to divert air traffic towards your airline. Its no wonder you started flights to Maiduguri of all places. Anyway its all for good

Is there anything a businessman will do that you would not consider a business stunt? You saying there is no business man that can genuinely reach out to the masses?

Is this the first, second, or third time this company will be doing this?

Politics / Very Difficult To Satisfy Nigerians by TONYE001(m): 9:17pm On Apr 26, 2023
Religion and ethnicity have really destroyed our unity as a country. I'm beginning to worry if there will ever be a time when we'd be healed and reunited.

Air Peace has offered to help bring back Nigerians (of all tribes) stranded in Sudan. I understand the company has worked up a strategy with the FG, NEMA, and the associated Nigerian embassies (in Sudan and in Egypt).

It's extremely shocking and disappointing to see people turn this innocent gesture into stupid tribal banters. Some are even insinuating the CEO is doing this for some gains.

Can Nigerians ever be satisfied?

I just hope (I know, actually) that most of what we read online do not truly represent what the majority of Nigerians think.

IGBO man and Chest beating are like 5&6. As if it is free. Something that FG paid 1.5b to airlift Nigerians back from Sudan.

Could you, please, show me where FG mentioned paying the said amount to Air Peace?

since it has renderd thousands if not millions of nigerian youths to be useless, then yes it is useless

It has also made thousands and millions of Nigerians useful.

What were you expecting? You imagined that certificates will begin to vomit money upon graduation?

You must apply yourself in whatever you do. Certificates can open doors to opportunities; opportunities that will allow you express your skills and make a living for yourself.

Certificates will only be useless to those that have refused to apply themselves. The moment you study hard and make a good degree while applying yourself, you are in for a great life.

Certificates are not useless. Not mine, not those of many people within my circle.

Each one with his own problem..I obtained certificates here and abroad and each one has contributed to my progress...I love amassing certificates, I love learning.. don't discourage people searching for knowledge , certificates become useless the day we die...as far as we are alive certificates will always be useful if indeed you obtained them via the right means.

Certificates does not render people jobless..people render themselves jobless!

I will one day write about this their ceertificate-na-scam narrative. My certs got me where I am today, and it'll get me further.

I can never understand why someone will think going to school is a scam.

Never.

This is scary.

This is evil.

Maybe legislators should consider proposing the death penalty for crimes like this.

She's wicked! Did she even think of the possibility that this man may take his life out of depression?

Wicked, greedy, evil!
