Phones / Re: What We Want To See In Future Itel Devices by tonynwasokwu: 7:33am On Jun 27, 2016
MichaelEff:
I'm here to give suggestions as to what we want to see in Itel devices in the future. In as much as there's nothing like the "Perfect Smartphone" and I don't think there will ever be, because of difference in taste, there are some basic specifications which OEMs will need to have on their products. "Wrong Specs Combination" is one of the issues with Itel devices, for instance; You produce a device running on Android 5.1 LolliPop which has a 512MB RAM capacity, that's awkward for me because a LolliPop device should have nothing less than 1GB RAM.
So here are what I want to see in future Itel devices.

1. Bigger RAM + ROM:
We all know the importance of RAM in our smartphones, it's a very essential part of every smartphone. The best-selling devices today are devices with bigger RAM capacity, and many people buy phones based on popularity, based on it's the latest phone, they don't know much about specs, and that's why you see popular devices with bigger RAM capacity. I'll also commend Itel for their efforts lately, I've seen some of the latest Itel devices with 1GB RAM, that's good, but a device with 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM is better. So I'll suggest that Itel Mobile work on the memory capacity of their future devices.

2. Better Camera Quality:
People like to capture amazing moments with their smartphone because not everyone is willing to buy a camera, they prefer using their smartphones, but what happens when they don't have a smartphone with good camera quality? Many users of Itel both past and present complain about average camera quality, yes I know most Itel devices has 8MP camera but the truth is; when it comes to camera figures matters less, the most important part of a camera is the sensor "The better the sensor, the better the camera" at this point I'll recommend a Sony sensor, many OEMs e.g Infinix, Tecno use Sony sensors for their smartphone cameras and I think Itel should follow suit.

3. Better Processor:
Many Itel devices are still powered by "Spreadtrum Processor", which is not one of the best processors out there, there are more powerful processors like MediaTek, Snapdragon, Qualcomm, Kirin etc. I think Itel should equip future devices with any of these processors.

4. BATTERY: I had to save the best for the last. For me this is the most important specification I look out for, because without battery no mobile phone. Itel devices are not the best when it comes to great battery life. So I'll also suggest that they improve on that aspect. I'm seeing reports of Itel planning to release a smartphone with 5000mAh battery, that will be great if it happens.

So here are what I expect Itel Mobile to work on in their subsequent devices.
Itel as a company has the interest of the masses at heart interns of bringing the price of smartphones for a common man to enjoy, I see them working on your suggestion, nice one Bro.
Phones / Re: I Might Consider Getting A New Phone If... Ur Suggestions Please by tonynwasokwu: 7:25am On Jun 27, 2016
Joel3:
my phone and power bank is being overstretched beyond their limits daily due to the recent epileptic power outage from the electricity company in Nigeria. ( my area)

before now I don't know what is Called going offline just because of power outage as my power bank is a standby. but now the power outage is terribly bad to the extent the last time I saw electricity is running into 2 days. and the sad part is even when there is power it's not always sufficient to charge my power bank to full.

note: before I bought my power bank I used to burnt fuel to power my generator daily in the name of charging my phone. and since I started using power bank, I now find it difficult to burnt fuel to charge phone. the power bank is 100% economical and preferable.

I also find out that 3G is what is draining my battery really fast and 2G cannot run my Mozilla or UC Browser.

Example is if I connect my phone with hotspot to the other, the battery for the WiFi user last very well in detriment to the 3G hotspot user. the one ON Hotspot drain down so fast and goes offline.

I am making up a new plan to instead buy a new phone with a mighty killer battery that can run the 3G hotspot 24hours while I use my other phone for WiFi only and with my power bank to support the WiFi only phone it will be a 24hours standby till the next power outage.

i will need a phone that can run 24 hours on 3G Hotspot only. a good stable internet connectivity and a quality camera.

1. Biggest Battery, ( To run 3G Hotspot connection only 24hours without blinking )

2. Stable Internet Connection, ( my reasons for this is that one of my phone by injoo the network is more stable than my other phone )

3. Quality Camera, ( I don't have good camera phone at the moment which is embarrassing, so next phone must )

4. Ram, ( I find out that the bigger the ram the more stable and flexible the phone operation and internet download Speed )

that all I need and the phone can be anything from 4 inch to 7 inch. and lastly it must be android.

any open suggestions is highly appreciated. thank you all.

I will suggest you turn your satellite to itel's it1551, with its 5000mah battery you worry less about electricity when is fully charged.

Foreign Affairs / Five More Countries That May Leave European Union. by tonynwasokwu: 2:08pm On Jun 26, 2016
Scrolling through my Itel's It1507 massage notifier and seeing the news of Britain breakout from the EU, I see five more more countries joining.

With the United Kingdom now out of the European Union, the fear that the EU could crash sooner than possible is here.

Merkel and David Cameron, two of the major faces of the EU. Cameron resigned on Friday

Though the European Council President Donald Tusk warned, according to Washington Post, that Britain leaving the European Union could seriously threaten western political civilization, it is learnt that many other members of the powerful organization could begin with process for similar exit.
This is because of the huge agitation by citizens of the affected countries.

5 more countries that i see may leave the European Union are:

Hungary

This is one country whose prime minister, Viktor Orban, is considered a major opposition to the EU because of his stand on policies and issues despite being a member.

He was once referred to as a dictator by the European Commission head Jean-Claude Juncker.

His country is reportedly planning a referendum that could further crash the EU.

Sweden

Right from the beginning, this country has refused to introduce the Euro as a legal tender. It also sees itself as a “Scandinavian equivalent of Britain” according to the report.

The country is said to have continued with a major struggle of integrating thousands of refugees it accepted last year.

Even with this, most Swedes are still positive about the EU, but the withdrawal by Britain could begin to expose the citizens to some consciousness because Sweden has over the years, relied on Britain to help the small nation press through its policies. There is also now the fear that it could suffer economic woes if it continues to habour refugees.

Greece

Greece is still very troubled by a heavy debt burden which had threatened the country some time ago.

Analysts say this crisis could become a major issue in the coming days with the withdrawal of Britain from the EU.

In this case, the Greek government fears that it could be frustrated out of the EU rather than leaving on its own accord, because the organization could want to avoid crisis and further strengthen its remaining membership base.

The Netherlands

The report quotes Geert Wilders, the head of a right-wing populist party in the country as supporting the withdrawal of Britain from the EU and even hopes such happens in his country.

France

The situation in France could be tense currently as it is proven that 61 percent of its citizens do not favour being a part of the EU.

Now that the country is facing a weak economy and a high terrorism threat with some of the origins of the problems blamed on the EU, it could just be a little more time before the country breaks away.

Travel / Re: 8 Disgusting Habits Displayed By Nigerians When They Return From Abroad by tonynwasokwu: 6:32pm On Jun 11, 2016
itelambassador1:
8 Disgusting Habits Displayed By Nigerians When They Return From Abroad

Some Nigerians, when they return from abroad often display some nasty and childish habits when they return home, and these silly and childish attitudes are enlisted below;
1. Unnecessary use of foreign accent to intimidate local people
When some Nigerians living abroad return home, they begin to use these foreign accents to create unwanted scenes. They do this to show people that they are not of the same class.
A times when you tell them, you can’t understand their statement, they will say “Are u deaf”? The ones that annoy me most are those based in cotonou, Ghana, Uganda, china forming British accent. Honestly these ones need serious psychiatric evaluation.
2. High level of Pride
Living abroad is not a guarantee that one will be richer than Dangote or Mike Adenuga so why the over-bloated ego? Some will even make it look like they’re doing you a favour talking to you. This is common with the ladies.
3. Unnecessary show off
I know of some Nigerians who have lived their whole life abroad and are still able to be casual. But for some, they will wear socks and jacket under the intense sun and will be screaming to people’s hearing that they regret coming to Nigeria.
4. They condemn our local dish
When a friend of mine returned from Canada, he told me to take him to a restaurant because he went hungry and I was elated he still has passion for our local dish.
I took him to one fascinating local restaurant at Ibadan.
When they served us pounded yam/egusi soup complimented with all sorts of assorted bush meats. Instead of eating the meal, he walked out from the restaurant telling me he couldn’t eat that shiiit .
Honestly, I was embarrassed by his comment.
5. They demand for undue Respect
Some of them are so proud that they will give you this proud look because they feel you want to beg pounds or dollars from them.
I really don’t blame them, after all it is what they experience often when they visit home as friends, family and even enemies want to benefit from their pocket.
6. Hotel becomes their home
I know most of them prefer lodging in a hotel because they are scared of mosquito bite, non availability of light and other negative factors in their parents’ house.
Though I wouldn’t call this a silly act but I feel staying in your parents’ house especially when located in the village will attract more parental blessing.
7. They neglect their old friends
This is common to some abroad based Nigerians. They tend to ignore the friends they left in Nigeria because they feel they have climbed the ladder of greatness.
Last year, a very good friend of mine arrived from the UK and what surprised me most was that he refused to come to my house after a week of arrival.
I used my church mind to go to his place and he started acting like I came to beg for money. This silly attitude of common with some of them.this
8. They condemn our culture and values
It’s a pity that some Nigerians are so engrossed with the westerner culture that they view African culture as being fetish and archaic when they returned home.
For them to prostrate for elder #itelmobile
#itel their parents is like displaying stupidity act. This is nothing but outright nonsense.
Is not just in Nigeria, I came across a Yoruba man( I knew because of his accent) in itel store in Kenya when I went to buy my it1507 he exhibited a related attitude, but didn't blame him because he felt he is protecting his job, nice article dia.
Education / Re: The 3 Real Reasons Why We cant stop Procrastination by tonynwasokwu: 6:15pm On Jun 11, 2016
Esseson1:
When you look at
most people’s list
of bad habits they
want to break,
procrastination is
typically one of
them.Procrastination is hardly a new
trend; it’s been around for centuries.

According to Dr. Timothy Pychyl, a master of
procrastination (I mean, a master scholar of
procrastination), the earliest documented
reference of procrastination is in a sermon
written in 1682.

What makes procrastination so robust? What
makes it so hard to wipe out even though we
know how much it affects not only our
productivity but our peace of mind? If you
struggle with procrastination and wonder why
you haven’t been able to break the habit,
consider these three things that keep
procrastination flowing in our bloodstream.

1. Things Get Done
Procrastination means not starting to do the
work until you are dangerously close to the
deadline. And then, pushed against the
deadline, you start working at a frenetic pace.
Fighting the deadline gives you a powerful
adrenaline rush. While you couldn’t be
bothered with the task before, now you are
full of energy. You focus your attention
entirely on your almost-late project and
ignore everything else. Your body can go for
hours without sleep or food—copious
amounts of coffee will do just fine.
Eventually, your last-minute frantic action
pays off: The work gets done!
This way of getting things done gives you a
false sense of confidence. It makes you
believe that you can get any job done,
regardless of how late you start. The thrill of
achieving something that seemed so
impossible—like creating an entire
presentation for an important meeting in just
one night—gives you an unforgettable high.
You feel proud, relieved (and probably
exhausted). But you did it! And maybe you
can do it again ... and when you think you are
able to get anything done, regardless of how
late you start, you have no motivation—no
reason—to stop procrastinating

2. Life Goals Have No Deadlines
Procrastination means waiting till the last
minute to get things done. But that only
works when you know when the "last minute"
is. Without a clearly defined and well-
established deadline, you risk never getting
the task done. Of course, not everything we
have to or want to do come with deadlines.
Consider life goals. Life goals have no
deadlines. Early in our lives, there are some
rough deadlines. People expect us to start
crawling by 10 months, and start talking by
about 24 months. We're supposed to start
primary school at about age 6 and finish high
school by around 18. And at least some of us
have to come to terms with the fact that our
parents won’t be supporting us financially
forever, so we know that at that point, we
need to get a job.
Later in life, the deadlines get even looser. No
one tells you exactly when you should start
dating, for example, or what age is too late to
marry. With more idiosyncratic goals, like
taking the next step in your career, starting
your own business, writing a book, learning
French, becoming a mentor, or helping a
charity, buying your dream itel smartphone,a car, house etc, the deadlines are non-existent. No
deadline means no pressure. No pressure
means no action. And no action means no
goal.

3. You Think Procrastination Is a Problem
We tend to think of procrastination as a
problem —as a bad habit or an irreversible
personality trait that will constantly drain our
potential and get in the way of our
achievements. But procrastination may not a
problem at all. It may actually be a solution—
a solution that your brain generates in
response to the need to take action.
Procrastination is the tendency to delay taking
action. It is the disconnect between intention
and implementation. To translate a plan into
action, your brain analyzes a vast amount of
information from your internal and external
environment, and makes decisions about
what to do next. When you have all the
information you need, you start working on a
plan. If you don’t, your brain stalls. And that’s
when you experience procrastination.
This could be a critical shift in your thinking:
Instead of considering procrastination as a big
problem, a habit you need to break, or a
hardwired part of your personality, think of it
as an alarm , or a red flag—a sign that
something is missing . Something is preventing
you from getting started and getting things
done.
Your job is to discover what that is. When you
discover it, the odds will be in your favor.

Hope this was helpful in understanding why you can't do-away with that habit?

I am a phone Frick and I do alot with it, ranging from surfing, gaming, download alot of applications, my present phone is it1507 and it still serves me well but my younger brother is on my neck, he is begging to get it before he goes back to school, after his effort last break was not fruitful, he will leave by the weekend.
I have made a budget of 25k for a new phone with specifications like: OS lollipop, Ram 1GB, Battery Capacity above 3000mAh, and a quality camera.
Nairalanders, since there are alot coming out everyday and sometimes one looses track,
I need a new phone within the range of 24-25k, but still stranded in choice making.
