As the calls for resignation on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continues, the embattled national chairman of the party, Adamu Muazu, on Tuesday appealed to stakeholders and members of the party across the country to put behind them the disappointment of defeat, rest all misunderstandings and put the survival and stability of the party ahead of all other considerations. Mu’azu, who said he was out of the country on medical treatment as a result of the rigorous campaigns during the recent elections, said though the party’s defeat in the last general election was painful, members should key into the intervention by President Goodluck Jonathan and not allow the situation to further divide the party. Governors of the party are spearheading calls for the resignation of Mu’azu-led NWC over the loss of the presidential and other elections. The Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, had severally accused Mu’azu of selling out the party to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Recently, governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, also called for the resignation of the NWC. While Mu’azu and members of his NWC, have exonerated themselves from the electoral losses of the party, they have also insisted on finishing their tenure in office next year. However in a statement personally signed by Mu’azu, he pleaded for peace, noting that he appreciated the reactions of Governor Ayo Fayose. He said “In the last few weeks, the media has been fishing on these reactions with a section even blowing it out of proportion to a level that has become a threat to our oneness as a family. “As the National Chairman and a key stakeholder in this party in the last 16 years, I quite understand and appreciate the concern, pain and frustrations of our members regarding our defeat. “I am also deeply worried about the division the development has generated within the PDP family especially regarding whether or not the national leadership should be dissolved as a direct consequence of our collective challenge. “In the course of events, there have been reactions and counter-reactions among party members; mistakes have been made, some of them avoidable, but this is the time to put all of them behind us and move ahead as our party and its interest remain paramount and overriding. “Expectedly, our party has had a share of media bashing and misrepresentations, which contributed immensely to the misunderstanding we are facing in our fold. “For instance, in one of the press reactions from my office, the media quoted one of my aides as saying that our party will be “buried’ without the National Chairman, a clear deviation from what was actually said. Such misrepresentations of our party leaders also abound in the social media and we must be wary of them. “However, I have already issued a strong warning to all my aides to henceforth desist from making comments on matters of party administration in the media or any other forum whatsoever. “Having been a state governor on the platform of this party for eight years and having the grace of being a committed member for the past 16 years, I very much appreciate the reactions of some of our members like Governor Ayo Fayose, whose victory in Ekiti in June last year helped to strengthen our party, particularly in the southwest region. “Nevertheless, in the larger interest of our party, we all must resolve to bury the hatchet, pick our pieces and move on to rebuild our party and return to our winning ways. “In the wisdom of leadership of the party, we have set the machinery in motion by the constitution and inauguration of the Post Election Assessment Committee headed by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu. The needful thing to do at the moment is for all hands to be on the deck with this committee to come up with meaningful report that will provide answers to our challenges and roadmap for the future. Furthermore, my absence from the country lately has led to some apprehensions within the party resulting in various public interpretations, but the fact is, following the rigorous campaigns and its attendant toll on my health, I had to yield to the advice of my doctor to take a two weeks bed rest for proper checks and recuperations. I am happy to inform all our members that I have been responding to care and will soon return to the country. “Finally, I wish to charge all members that though we have had our setback, we are not down and out. The PDP remains the largest political party in this country. What we need now more than ever before is to unite as therein lies our strength as a family. Fighting ourselves will not yield anyone any good. Our members therefore must remain focused and join forces with their leaders at all levels to actualize our collective quest to rebuild the PDP and repositioning it to regain power in 2019”. End. |
This is just hilarious or how else does anyone justify this action? Just to ensure he puts up a picture to celebrate his mum, this man decided to suck his aged mum's breast and took a picture of it!

— May 11, 2015 2:13 pm The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) said it has concluded plans to arraign three officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) over N1.2 billion unspent fund. Mr Folu Olamiti, the Resident Media Consultant to the ICPC stated this in a statement on Monday in Abuja. He said that the officials would be arraigned on Tuesday May 12, before Justice Husseini Baba of an FCT High Court. He said a former Assistant Commandant General of NSCDC, Mohammed Umar and two others- Amobi Chidozie and Ojuolape Oyemomi -would be arraigned before the court. Olamiti said that the arraignment was in respect of an alleged conspiracy to offer gratification to some public officers in the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF). According to him, the gratification was to induce the public officers in the AGF’s office to extend the time of remittance of the N1.2 billion unspent funds belonging to NSCDC in December 2004. He attributed the delay in the arraignment to the health challenge of Umar and the death of one of the accused persons whose name was struck out from the charge sheet. “The accused were alleged to have conspired and also used their public offices to offer gratification to some public officers of the office of the AGF in the sum of N1.5million as an inducement. “The trio, will also be facing trial for the transfer of the sum of N8.2 million meant for overhead vote to personnel vote- offence contrary and punishable under Section 22 (5) of the corrupt practices and other related offences Act 2000,” he said. The story below looks like fairy tale but it was true. It was a story that all of us need to learn one or two things from; especially youth of nowadays that refused to show humility and respect to their elderly people in the name of (OLAJU) developments and the so called human rights. I will like to emphasis it her that an ‘Oba’ that is an ‘Alaiyeluwa’ need total respect from all his subjects both home and abroad. A lesson on humility to learn from the story of Bode Thomas. a lawyer by proffesion whom was posted to Oyo as the chairman of Oyo Divisional Council during the time of Oba Adeyemi , the Alaafin of Oyo (the father of the current Alaafin). The story goes thus ‘Bode Thomas, yes, the same Bode Thomas, whom the Surulere Street was named after, died on Nov 23, 1953 in a most mysterious manner. Bode Thomas was born to a wealthy trader, John Thomas in 1918. He, FRA Williams, Remi Fani-Kayode (Father of Femi Fani-Kayode) attended Law School in London, and they established the first law firm in Nigeria, called "Thomas, Williams and Kayode". The law firm was established in Jankara, Lagos. Bode Thomas was an excellent lawyer, but he was also very arrogant. Because of his education, he was made chairman of the Oyo Divisional Council at one time, while the King of Oyo, Alaafin Adeyemi, (the father of the current Alaafin) was a mere member! On Bode Thomas' first appearance in council after being appointed chairman, all council members stood up for him in reference, to welcome him, except Oba Adeyemi,( Oba to to....Kaaabiesi o) who, for cultural reasons, should not show reference to anyone in public, not even his mother! Bode Thomas rudely shouted at the King "...WHY WERE YOU SITTING WHEN I WALKED IN? YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO SHOW RESPECT?" At that time, Bode Thomas was 34 years, while the Alaafin was in his 60's. The Alaafin felt very insulted. He said "SE EMI LO NGBO MO BAUN?" (Is it me that you are barking at like that?) Bode Thomas responded by shouting some English sentences which the Alaafin didn't understand, so the Alaafin just told him... "MAA GBO LO" (continue barking). The confrontation happened on November 22, 1953. Bode Thomas got home and started barking! He barked, and barked and barked like a dog all night until he died in the early morning of November 23, 1953. Bode Thomas was the Balogun of Oyo. So, when next you drive on Bode Thomas street in Surulere, remember that man, who cut short his own life because of his arrogance and being haughty. Be Humble! |
Have you forgotten what you did in Ekiti Mr Fayemi? You built a bungalow for just #4billion and u called it governor's Lodge. I think buhari should make u a scapegoat if u refused to refund your stolen funds from Ekiti. |
Everything You Need To Know About The Nigeria Vs India Match Virtually everybody born before the invention of the internet must have heard the tale of a nonexistent football match between Nigeria and India that obviously took place in a parallel universe and somehow we got to hear the gory stories of that match. Though there are many variations of the story, every prevaricator seems to agree on a couple of facts about this fictional football match. Each storyteller agrees that; 1. This match ended with India scoring 99 goals and Nigeria scoring just one goal. 2. Nigerians where unable to kick the ball because the football kept turning to a lion (or something scary) to prevent them from playing the soccer ball. 3. The Indians later agreed that if Nigeria could score a goal, they would concede defeat 4. Samuel Okwaraji scored the winning goal and lost his life in the process. 5. FIFA banned India from soccer because they used black magic in that very game With the help of common sense (not that it was absent back then), quick access to information and the internet, every right thinking Nigerian has come to realize that such a story should be filled under “Blatant Lies”.

The fraudster called trekker: the analysis of the man who claimed to trek from Lagos to Abuja Admin Admin April 21, 2015 Country Spotlight, Lifestyle 43 Comments or his fraud trek, how does it affect us as a nation? Did it influence victory for GMB? “ Nigerians have suddenly become one of the most gullible persons on planet earth where anyone even a goat can pull a wool over their eyes and majority fall for it. As an investigator and a critical analyst, I refuse to believe things not proven. The latest story in town is the supposed arrival of a fraud star and a con man, Hashimu Suleiman who has suddenly found a way to warm himself into the Presidential Villa while getting adverts from companies like Lucozade boost or any of these energy drinks, simply because he pulled a stunt of trekking from Lagos to Abuja if Buhari wins the presidential election, a promise he made two years ago. Yesterday he ended his trekking after 19 days and was received at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja. Is APC associated with criminals or they deliberately close their eyes to scam. For Suleiman to say he trekked from Lagos, some say its Ibadan to Abuja is another lie told to his co dupers. Can we ask ourselves how he wore the same cloth without washing it for 19 days? This shameless criminal who wants to deceive my people mean to tell us that he began his journey and suddenly landed in Niger State without being seen in any of the Yoruba States? Are we so gullible that if this fraudulent nomad really trekked from the West, his pictures and stories would have begun spreading from the first day he made the move? We are talking about the age of Social Media where feats become news instantly, and the sophisticated West never knew he left their land to Abuja. Has this fraudster done this before that he knows the route so well and never missed his way even for a day? He is seen with phone and power bank, always receiving calls on his glo line. When the phone and power bank batteries die, where did he charge it? He carried just one litre of water and yet he never thirsted when it finished. What did he eat on the lonely road, leaves? At night, where did he sleep? When it became dangerous, where did he hide? I put it to this 21st century scammer that he could not have trekked that journey and his shoe sole will still be intact. I put it to this smart idiot who wants to use our brains to smoke garri that he cannot trek such distance and his feet won’t be all blisters with him limping if need be in just 19 days. I have checked Google map on the distance he covered trekking but such is possible when arranged for purpose of setting records, as security and Medicare team are put in place. Can we task our brains to know that the odour that will emanate from his unwashed cloth is enough to kill him before he gets halfway? We all cannot be stupid to believe junks told us by a man who is jobless and needs one. Nigeria is truly a nation in search of heroes and a scammer almost succeeded in making us see him as so. For his fraud trek, how does it affect us as a nation? Did it influence victory for GMB? The real heroes have not spoken on their support for Buhari and a stuntman wants to play a smart one on a nation of over 170 million persons. This is another Nigerian 419 like the other liar who claimed to be the ‘father of internet’, until he was busted. Nigerians should immediately do away with this common liar and fraudster, while calling for his arrest and questioning if need be. We must not be a laughing stock for opportunists. These little things matter… Via Fejiro Oliver

In his words, “In all, 17 deaths have been confirmed in Ayadi community and Ode Irele township and all the deaths were preceded by symptoms of sudden blurred vision, headache and loss of consciousness. “Our investigations thus far have been in conjunction with our development partner, the World Health Organisation and report sent to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. The symptoms in this situation are not peculiar to any known epidemic and so have remained largely confounding. “As we speak, there are no new cases reported in the last 48 hours and none presently in the hospital. We have deployed trained volunteers for active surveillance and case management should the need arise. Also, advocacy and sensitisation efforts are ongoing in print and on electronic media. “We have ordered toxicology test, we have commenced active surveillance through the local government area disease surveillance and notification officer. Per Second News---The president elect has issued a red card to serving top government officials who in recent times besieged his residence in Daura, Katsina to lobby for retention of their positions. Buhari, was livid last week when the current Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde, visited his residence in Daura to pay homage. Per Second News learnt that the customs boss who coincidentally hails from, Musawa Local Government Area, Katsina state immediately after informing the President-Elect of his mission was advised to go back to his duty post. Dikko, shocked by Buhari's response tried unsuccessfully to inform the retired General of the situation at all Nigeria's borders, seaport and the airports, but the President-elect upbraided the 55 year-old that the ideal procedure is to wait until he has been sworn in as president, describing the visit as unhealthy, unethical and disloyalty to a government he is still serving. He thereafter asked the customs boss to leave his residence, rejecting also his gift items. The Comptroller general and his team hurriedly left the residence, parking the valuables and gifts items along. The visit of the current Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Ade Abolurin, on Sunday was more comical, he arrived Daura, the residence of the President-Elect with top officers of the corps, photographers and some members of the press. According to a member of the Buhari Campaign from Katsina, "The President-Elect was having his normal quiet time when the delegation arrived". The corps officers led by its commandant were left outside in the scorching sun for over an hour, before the the commandant and two corps officers were allowed entry into the President-elect's visitors room, Abolurin, still recuperating from a fire burn incident got the shock of his life when an aide of Buhari, said that the retired General wants him out of his residence and will not be seeing him. Dumbfounded the corps officers left in a haste to the surprise of other delegation members outside, who were waiting and hoping to see the president-elect and take photographs with him. Per Second News can authoritatively report that a serving minister last week also sent emissaries to the president-elect in a bid to secure a private meeting. Private business tycoons are not left out of the visits, Forte Oil CEO, Femi Otedola, and Oando boss Adewale Tinubu also visited Buhari last week. The national leader of the APC, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, shortly before the governorship elections brought the Chagoury brothers to meet with the president-elect in a closed door meeting. Per Second News gathered that the deluge of top current serving government officials and visitors reaching out to General Buhari at this material time has turned his Daura home to a new Mecca. |

THE real reasons President Goodluck Jonathan conceded defeat in the 28 March presidential election even before its result was officially announced have been revealed to Sunday Tribune. According to an insider who disclosed how the final decision that led to President Jonathan congratulating his opponent and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, members of the president’s kitchen cabinet and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who were invited to the Presidential Villa, had already read the body language of the president to allow peace to reign. He also disclosed that elders like Senator Ahmadu Ali, chairman of the presidential campaign team, and PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman, Chief Tony Anenih, played crucial roles in ensuring that the nation was not thrown into crisis. With the glaring irregularities in the election, particularly the issue of underage voters which was reported live by the Cable News Network (CNN), some elements in the president’s campaign team and PDP, it was revealed, had concluded plans to challenge the results. “It was for the fact that the president had indicated right from the onset his desire for peace. His campaign mantra has always been that his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian,” revealed the insider. According to the source, a meeting of PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) and the campaign organisation with the president was called in the afternoon of Tuesday as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was releasing the result. The meeting was to deliberate on the outcome after it had become apparent that the president would lose. “A meeting of the campaign organisation and the NWC of the PDP was called that Tuesday afternoon and Ali and Jonathan made their points on the necessity for peace. Ali’s close relationship with Jonathan also helped to create a synergy between the villa and the campaign directorate such that each had the other’s confidence. “But it was apparent that President Jonathan did not want any violence. In Jonathan’s reckoning, as well as Ahmadu Ali’s, and other elders’, even though there were irregularities in the North and South, the peace and stability of Nigeria were far more important,” explained the source. Explaining the situation of that Tuesday further, the source revealed that while some of those at the meeting believed that PDP would have real legal cause, the elders and the president thought about the implication, especially the post-election impasse for the country. “They did not want a repeat of the killings that followed 2011 elections. It was felt that conceding defeat even before the final announcement was made would douse tension and curtail the instantaneous jubilation that could have turned out any way. “It was also agreed that congratulating the APC and General Buhari ahead of time would also force APC to begin to focus more on the transition and governance, rather than on politicking,” the source said, adding that the situation was critically reviewed but the insistence of the president and elders on peace carried the day. “All through the campaigns, it would have been noticed that Ali cautioned against use of incendiary words. Ali was never heard using hate language all through the campaign. He helped properly organise and structure the campaign. “Ali also worked tirelessly with some other leaders of the party like the BoT chairman, Anenih, in bringing together the many tendencies within the party for unity,” he said. Niger State governor, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu has stated that those shouting for change are those seeking power for revenge; saying that the north cannot be deceived by such mission of revenge and slogan of change as well as religious sentiment. Aliyu who spoke over the weekend in Minna at a lecture to mark the 40th birthday of Niger State governorship candidate of PDP, Alhaji Umar Mohammed Nasko noted that some people are seeking power to avenge what they felt was done against them in the past. Aliyu stated that, “you don’t look for change for revenge, Nigerians should look beyond sentiment and vote realistically”. While saying that in both Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) there are Muslims and Christians as flag bearers he noted that using religion to win election will be effort in futility. Aliyu stated further, that “revenge is unIslamic and unChristian, anybody seeking power for revenge cannot claim to be a true believer”. Adding that the north can no longer be deceived by those using religion, he said that he is happy that the slogan of change cannot be used to deceive the north. He said the opposition has always been critical of his programme especially the three arm zones. He said if the oppositions are blind to his achievement they should at least acknowledge the ongoing development at the three arm zones. reported by Leadership Newspaper. |
