I have a laptop and phone with a 720p screen resolution and i know what higher resolution videos look like compared to 1080p screens.

Just because your amoled screen makes colours deeper or brighter doesn't stop your native resolution from being 720p. You play pubg and other games at 720p, you watch videos at a max quality of 720p. 720p can never be compared to 1080p. Using a phone with a 720p display in 2020 is a poor experience, amoled or not.


I've mentioned the only pros of the mi a3 over rn8 which are ufs 2.1 and better front camera.

one thing I know about change which is similar to new technology is that people tend to resist it and find minor excuses to do so. the in display finger print has the been best I have used. it ranks above others I have tried. it is as reliable as any other.

There's two things to note here. When we're talking about displays esp in this Mi A3 vs RN8 case, we have

1. Display panel/type: IPS LCD vs AMOLED

2. Resolution (clarity of objects on the display): Full High Definition 1080P (LCD/RN8) vs HIgh definition 720P (Amoled/Mi A3)

it depends on what you like. Some people cannot downgrade from 1080P to 720P just because of amoled.

others prefer the design and sleekness of amoleds to full resolution.

It's simply a case of my apples to your oranges.

Try to see both sides of the debate here.

my opinion is not fact but it's based on what I saw and not what I read. I have both mi A3 and rn8.
we tend to forget we can only notice the pixel when your phone is held very close to your eyes. The amoled produce deeper and vibrant colours. all you need to do is hold both phones side by side.

Mi a3 supports ufs 2.1 which is another edge tho.

sure I know, maybe my own preference. I have both mi A3 and rn8, under sunlight the rn8 is brighter while mi A3 is brighter in low light. overall, mi A3 is better.
people often associate over saturation and screen burn to Samoled. Samsung have done a fantastic job on Samoled since the days of S4.

bro, am talking from what I have seen maybe some high quality IPS could prove me wrong but mostly Samoled Vs IPS of the same price range, Samoled comes out better.

And i must it was a smooth and Easy Transaction.. Then back to the Phone.. Seriously i can't see the difference in this 720p and 1080p display talk.. And i must confess the phone is smooth and Fast and it has Good Camera � + Gcam =Superb +Crispy Super Amoled Panel.. I'll be using Android One program for now till i get ready to Flash Custom Rom.. It's a Great Buy tho.. That HD+ and FHD resolution something gave me a tough time... I wish it had Always On Display Feature... But Flashing of Rom will solve that soon.

guys, I friend of mine did the liquid screen protector on his phone I must say it's dope. I personally tried to scratch with keys it wasn't gonna give in. very clean and clear, anyone interested should make sure the liquid is baked on the screen.

honestly, Xiaomi cameras have impressed me. I currently use mi A3 and I have used and laid hands on several flagship phone. we can't reach a conclusion as the quality of picture is subjective. as long as the production meets the lowest standard acceptable, let's just roll.
if a professional photographer(Sammy boy) a friend of mine was more impressed with the A3 over his Sammy a30, it shows its not about loyalty to brand. my loyalty is to value for money not brand.

you can't go wrong with either. I prefer the mi A3 though, amoled screen,compact and dope camera. both phones are almost the same. the major difference is Miui and Android one.

I know about the charging port problem, a friend of mine owns one. he doesn't share charger and he's fine.

it hasn't failed me, in fact I can trust it better than all other phones have used as it almost always recognise my sweaty palm all the time. something I don't get from others.

I don't know again o, my first intention was to get the mi a3 because of the camera, battery, processor, size and most importantly, android one.... but that screen replacement price caught me off guard, if you've ever been in a Unical student shuttle or hostel then you'd understand why I'm so scared of the screen replacement price

Nokia X6 is good, you can check for other android one phones.

I currently use mi A3 and I can tell you the colours are very deep and vibrant. The 720p is visibly better than all IPS 1080p have seen so far. the in display FP is a hit for me, I have always been a fan of amoled display and am adding the indisplay FP to my list because it's been the best of all FP I have used. yes, maybe not as fast as some but it does the job better than others. All you need do is to protect your phone and forget about the price to repair.
