The Abuja newspaper vendors have taken to the streets to protest the killing of their colleague by the security detail attached to the speaker of the house of representatives Femi Gbajabiamila.

According to local reports, Ifeanyi Okereke Elechi who was the victim was killed by stray bullets after a Police officer that is attached to the speaker fired bullets into the air.

Ifeanyi Okereke‘s wife is also said to be nursing a three weeks old baby.

One of the security detail attached to Hon Femi Gbajabiamila has reportedly shot a newspaper vendor on the roadside of Abuja.

Femi Gbajabiamila is the speaker of the Nigerian 9th House of Representatives and also a member of the ruling party All Progressive Congress (APC).

According to an eyewitness report, the convoy of the speaker Femi Gbajabiamila was stuck in traffic in Abuja, and security men attached to him shot live bullets into the air as a way to clear the road but a stray bullet from the gunshot killed a roadside newspaper vendor.

However, Femi Gbajabiamila took to his Twitter handle to announce that the Police officer who shot the newspaper vendor has been suspended.

On Monday 9th November 2020 in Peru, citizens took to the street to protest the removal of President Martin Vizcarra who was impeached on corruption allegation.

The government of Manuel Merino has been reported by local new media to have used violence to try and repress the protest in which fired shotgun pellets and tear gas.

This attempt led to the death of at least three persons in which the first casualty was a 25 years old man who killed pellet shots to the head and face.

However, The Police reported two deaths while the country’s National Human Rights Coordinator said it was investigating whether four-person died.

The residents of Ibadan have been left in shock after what they described as humiliation and lack of focus from the Nigerian Army that was saddled with Operation Burst that was inaugurated by His Excellency Sheyi Makinde was days ago.

Operation Burst was inaugurated to calm the situation in the state after a peaceful protest by #EndSARS protesters turned violent and some people died.

According to a twitter user by name Adetutu Balogun, MBA on Thursday 18th June 2020, claimed that a member of staff of the Lekki Concession Company Limited (LCC) has tested positive to the coronavirus.

He asserts that the victim tested positive at the Lekki 1st tollgate when tested last Thursday 11th June 2020.

Mr. Adetutu laments that the Lekki Concession Company Limited is still open and carrying out its operations as usual and its staff is not aware of the index case.

Jacob Alonge, a herbalist that is aged 52 years, has been sentenced to 21 years in prison for raping his daughter, Gift Alonge, at their home in Ososo village, Akoko-Edo, Benin, Edo State.

Aside from raping the Gift who is 17-year-old repeatedly and impregnating her, he procured abortion for her and shaved the hair on her private parts. He also instructed her not to sleep with any other man, as he turned her to a sex slave.

Gift Alonge had become pregnant a second time when the matter became public knowledge and Jacob was arrested by the police and arraigned in court.

Pregnant 17-year-old Gift, however, died along with all other four others in an accident on the way to the court.

Among the dead were her uncle, two workers of a non-governmental organization, BraveHeart Initiative, helping Gift with the case, and the cab driver.

Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Federal High Court had in a ruling on Thursday ordered the re-arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu.

The ruling is coming after Justice Binta Nyako revokes the bail granted to Nnamdi Kanu on April 25, 2017.

About 20 years ago, when I was still in the seminary school, we were taught RESPONSIBILITY.
If you had a function, you MUST be responsible for everything about it.

At that tender age of 10, 11,12 years, if you were found wanting in any of your duties, you would be seriously punished and possibly attract suspension for yourself, depending on the magnitude of your offense.

Because of this election, ALL sorts of meetings were postponed.

Schools went on midterm break, earlier than scheduled.

People postponed business activities. Workers went on premature leave. Markets announced closing.

People traveled all the way from places like Lagos, Kaduna to distant places like Owerri, Onitsha, in order to cast their votes.

Random public holidays by state governments and federal governments were pronounced.

In the end, an irresponsible INEC that had always promised us that they were ready for this election, suddenly turn around to tell us that they had postponed the elections by another week.

A stupid Presidency would have prevented us from this if he had signed the electoral bill. Serious countries vote online, making it impossible for billions of naira to be wasted via election logistics and halting of economic activities.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the postponement of the 2019 Presidential and National Assembly election scheduled to hold 16th February 2019.

The Chairman of the commission Professor Mahmud Yakubu made this known to newsmen at about 2:43 am in Abuja.
