Career › What You Shouldn't Do To Your Employees by TopWinner(op): 10:22am On Aug 25, 2017 |
People don’t leave bad companies. They leave bad bosses. The worst place an employee can be, is stuck in an organization with a micro-manager that doesn't care and there are no opportunities for growth and advancement. Employees want meaningful work, and they want autonomy in how they work. No matter how great a company’s products and/or services may be, if management is dysfunctional, that company will have serious problems. The typical 'bad boss' spends their time directing employees rather than empowering them. Micromanaging is oppressive, fosters anxiety and creates a high stress work environment. Eventually, employees will become disenchanted and quit to work for another company. In my early career, I worked for a company that employed scientific management to boost productivity. They put profit above people and sought to gain every ounce of productivity out of employees. We didn’t even stop much to celebrate the teams’ successes. It was about quickly moving along to the next goal. There was no real leadership (vision and inspiration) only management (command and control). The culture was basically do as you are told. Suggestions and recommendations by employees and even results of viewpoint surveys were often ignored. Management didn't accept negative results. Their analysis of such results centred on whether employees understood the questions which was an insult to our intelligence. Employees are the heart of the company and if the heart stops beating what will happen. Employees became disengaged and focused solely on their salary. This was the only high point. Most individuals did nothing extra outside of their job specifications. The workload was unfeasible, however at 4:00 pm on the dot, employees could be seen leaving the office, as if there was a fire drill taking place. Team spirit and morale was extremely low. I felt stifled. For highly-driven and ambitious individuals, it can be likened to putting an eagle in a chicken coop and clipping their wings. Thus, I didn’t stay there very long. Employee turnover was high. Many individuals wanted to leave but because of debts or accumulated retirement earnings remained. Sadly, today the company is no longer in operation. Leaders need to know their employees and what motivates them. If you are heading a small organization and job openings are few and far in between; Make cross training, job rotation and mentoring available and gave employees more responsibility. Assign challenging projects that motivate employees and give them stretch targets which will cause them to grow. If they have plateaued and there is nothing else to look forward to, they will become disengaged. Employee engagement soars when it’s a priority and looked upon with purpose and intention. If you want to get the best out of your employees - Put people first. Show employees that you care. Treat them well. Reward and Recognize their efforts. Celebrate successes. When you show you want and value employees contributions, they become far more engaged in the outcomes. Furthermore, take an interest in their development by giving them responsibility and challenges that will help them to grow. When people feel they are moving forward, adding to their skill base, learning new concepts, and stretching their capabilities, motivation tends to remain high. Rashford to prove he's still got it. More game time for Martial to show he's getting better.
If Rashford doesn't perform, then he's off at 60-62 mins. Rashford never bring him brain this season. Martial should start, IMO |

The commentator mentioned one of Jose's major problems: ending matches with a tactic, instead of starting with one.
I sense the need to particularly point out the fact that Paul Pogba is still showboating and making the simplest things difficult (don't know why he keeps doing this). This is his second season already, and if he'll not wear a serious attitude towards games, he'll end up as a grossly under-utilized talent. I don't want to do this but I have to mention the fact that he cost(s) us a lot and should be providing assists and goals on a regular basis - not one match in, 3 matches out. I hope he picks up his non-chalant self and starts delivering in no time.
Boy, was Matic not a beauty to watch? Totally proved me wrong. My opinion about the Big Serb changed after I saw what he did last night, holding up play, launching near-perfect tackles and making important passes (and the strike that led to the goal). What a bargain he'd prove to be as the season rolls along!
Overall, it was a fair contest for our beloved club We played against the best midfield in the world and did well at it.
We move to Sunday! |

stabwebtech: Manchester United have agreed a fee of around £75m with Everton for striker Romelu Lukaku.
The 24-year-old Belgium international scored 25 Premier League goals last season. United, who have been chasing Lukaku for most of the summer, will not now be pursuing their interest in Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata. The move for Lukaku is not connected to talks aimed at taking United forward Wayne Rooney to Everton. Jose Mourinho’s side are hopeful of concluding a deal in time for Lukaku to join the squad before they depart for a pre-season tour to the United States on Sunday. The striker was on a list of forward options Mourinho gave to executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward before the end of last season. It had been thought Lukaku would return to his former club Chelsea, who he joined from Anderlecht in 2011. The striker was sold to Everton for £28m by Mourinho during the Portuguese manager’s second spell in charge of Chelsea in 2014. Lukaku is a client of agent Mino Raiola, who also looks after Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan – three players all signed by United last summer.
The Belgian turned down the most lucrative contract offer in Everton’s history in March and later said: “I don’t want to stay at the same level. I want to improve and I know where I want to do that.” (BBC)
https://www.hotpointng.com/post-contents/3988 We agreed a fee for Morata, Fabinho, Matic and Perisic too. I'm not bothered. |

Not all of them are government-approved though. But the point is, the number of schools below standard is appalling and it doesn't seem to be reducing at all. |
