There is no time limit for that, you can move in today, get your bills running so as to use them for the visa application, I guess to get all the bills sorted and get the papers will take about a month then you can apply.
Thanks a lot justwise. I really appreciate it.

Hello house.
Please in applying for a tier 2 dependant visa for my family, how long must I have lived in a family accommodation before applying for them? I currently stay in a shared accommodation in the UK and I wish to apply for them early February next year. When would it be advisable to me to move into a family accommodation? Is there even a requirement for how long I must have stayed at a family accommodation(for instance a 2bedroom apartment for a family of 4)before applying to bring them?
Thank you all for the anticipated prompt responses.
Abeg make una respond nah! Abeg.

If she reapplies with the same documents, she risks being banned, not just a refusal. How does the applicant know the letter in question and other documents from the organisers are genuine? In fact it looks like the applicant has a 10 year ban knocking on the door.
Looks like she has been banned already if not they wont specifically mention a date in 2027. Im not sure though but Gurus in the house.......

@toscott please what type of job did you use in applying for your tier 2 visa and are there agents that helps people in getting the job please reply cos I have someone that is interested in tier 2 visa
Hi Lekibraky. Sorry for replying late. I have been offline for a while. Im in the healthcare profession. I think the single most important thing you need to apply for a tier 2 visa is a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) from the organisation you are going to work for there. That means you must have applied for the job from here, had an interview and you were successful after which you would sign a job offer or contract for the job. Then the organisation will request for the CoS on your behalf from the Home Office and send it to you. In my proffession, most times you need to go through a recruitment agency as its quite difficult for the hospital to liase with individuals directly though rarely they can.

Hello all,
Update. Finally got m
Timeline;
Biometrics: July 24 ( Priority Tier 2)
Not straightforward email; August 15
Told my agent of this and i was told it was escalated though i didnt get an email to that effect.
A week after i sent an enquiry to Ukvi and i was sent a mail to fill out the reason for escalation. This i did and sent back but i did not get any response.
My agent sent me a mail on Friday 25th August that d application has been sent to the 'express escalation team' whatever that means.
Got a mail from TLS on Monday 28th that decision has been made and another one later in the day for passport pick up.
Passport picked up today. Visa granted grin from 26th of August(which is a saturday).
Hope this encourages someone. Thanks to all who supported me.

A friend of mine went to TLS office to withdraw his application, hoping his passport would be returned in 2 days or less. However it took one whole week, as in 7 calendar days. It is actually ridiculous how UKVI can get away with treating people like this. Why can't they allow applicants hold on to their passport until a decision is made?
But really why is it this hard? Afterall it is said that the passports are at the Embassy here cos they stamp it here. Should it be this difficult?

In contacting them, you can call or send an enquiry though it is at a cost and then they will reply to the email you provided them with

[quote author=ddonsly post=59753175]Dear Nairalanders,

I'm really at my wit's end with these UKVI people. I applied since June 23rd, and after several calls and escalations, still no decision as at Friday afternoon. So I jejely asked to withdraw (Cancel) my application and have my passport returned to me ASAP as I have an impending trip by mid next week. The lady categorically confirmed that my passport should be back by end of this week (It should be simple now, just close my file and return my passport). So as e don reach dis afternoon and I haven't got an email to confirm that my application has been cancelled or my application on it's way back, I decided to call them just to double check things. And to my utter amazement, this new person now says that I have to wait for 10 working days. Okay. Then I enquired about the status of my application and they said it is still awaiting decision. I was like, but I CANCELLED my application ALREADY! I just want my passport back.. She then said if I want to complain I need to call another number. I called the number and the person that picked said that they can only talk about UK citizens and dependants and nothing else.

Please has anyone had any such experience as this? Any reason why after 3-4 days of withdrawing/cancelling, my application is still awaiting a decision? And please, what do you advise I do next? I need my passport back ASAP. Not being able to travel to the UK due to this delay has cost me a lot already. I can't afford to miss my next journey.

Kindly advise. Many thanks
Seriouslyhuh!!! Since all d passports are at d embassy, should this be a problem? Maybe you should go to Walter Carrington at the Embassy if possible. This UKVI thing is just very depressing.

To be honest, some of these agents portray themselves as people with power and influence just so you revere them. Fa-Fa-Fa-Foul!

The email you got is not peculiar to you as UKVI sends that email especially when your application needs more verification. Whether the agent called or the applicant called, UKVI would have given the same response of escalating the case. UKVI apologising was just Customer Service and not pressure put by the 'almighty' agent. In any case be hopeful and you would get a response from UKVI in due course.
Many thanks for the response. let the waiting game begin.

The mail stating that your application was not straightforward doesn't mean much in my opinion, I think they send this mail to a lot of people. I got the same mail and my application took exactly 17 days and those for my wife and child took 15 days even with the mail.
Thanks a lot. This is quite reassuring.
Sorry to ask. Is it 17days from the day of biometrics or 17days from when you got the not straightforward mail. Then pls how recent was this your application. Many thanks

huh
Bansley:
You need to let your company know ASAP of the application status, not straight forward means they are gonna do more verfication on your documents or they might need to speak to your employer or you in the future. If your employer are so desperate for you to start then they may consult a lawyer on your behalf.
Update
So i told my agent in the U.k about the not straightforward email and he called ukvi. In his language ' he was mad at them for saying its not straightforward and not giving the reasons why'. He said they apologised and told him dey will contact me very shortly. He also claimed he had escalated it to the next level whatever that means. It has been over 48hrs now and no response from UKVI. I hope the agent has not gone to scatter everything for me now. huh
