Joker. Dangote's product is not based on Government patronage alone. A very very high percentage of individuals buy his products.

Was his product worth protecting? Yes and it paid off. Nigeria is now self reliant in cement production.

I pray that Innoson gets bigger. For now, it is still a car assemblage plant and not a car manufacturing plant, just like others scattered all over Nigeria eg PAN, Leyland ANNAMACO VON Tilda etc
Yes yes and yes

Is it not an irony that a region which is witnessing brain drain and loss of manpower to other regions, is the one leading in WAEC results and MDG goals.

Northern Group Warns Against Plot To Undermine Tinubu

http://leadership.ng/news/440604/northern-group-warns-against-plot-to-undermine-tinubu

A group under the aegis of the Patriotic Northern Coalition for Justice, Peace and Equity has called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to beware of some politicians and elements within the party plotting to undermine the party’s chieftain and former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu.

The national coordinator of the coalition, Alhaji Babangida Sule Jnr, told newsmen in Kaduna yesterday, that Tinubu is the bedrock of APC and still commands great respect in his region and in the party, adding that any plot against his interest will be counter-productive.

He said the North is still grateful to Tinubu for his contributions towards Buhari’s victory and that the coalition will do all it can to stop anyone or group planning against him in the APC.

“Politicians are already strategising for 2019 and they will stop at nothing to achieve their aim. Some of them are in APC and we have uncovered that part of their aims is to undermine the party’s chieftain, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, because they see him as a stumbling block. But we the Patriotic Northern Coalition won’t allow them because we are still grateful to Tinubu for what he has done for the North in the 2015 general elections, particularly his efforts in the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari.

We know that many people played crucial roles in the emergence of Buhari, but Tinubu tops them all.

“Personally, I know of the many times he came to Kaduna to meet with Buhari and assure him that he would do all he could to support him and ensure his victory.

“I know all these things because I was part of the groups that met with him on several occasions, including some APC governors today. Again, in order to ensure Buhari’s victory at the primaries, he used his influence to move the convention from Abuja to Lagos. We know what happened after that and at the final election. So, we won’t allow anybody or group of persons to plan anything against his interest in APC. Besides, such plot will be counter-productive because Tinubu is an influential APC chieftain that commands respect in his region and some other regions.

“Moreover, any crisis in the APC today will be harmful to the nation because APC is the ruling party and whatever affects it can easily impact negatively on the nation,” he said.

Alhaji Sule also decried the moves by some people to form a caucus in APC just like what happened in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) then, where some people formed the New PDP. He said such calculation is totally wrong and will not augur well for the party.

He called on the APC and its leadership not to underrate the PDP too soon, saying that they are still a strong political force which can cause them upset if they are not very careful.

He urged everyone irrespective of party affiliation, tribe, religion and class to join hands with President Buhari so that he can transform the nation and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

You need to see the IGR generation breakdown for 2014 in Punch.

The total IGR generated by SW is 321bn, exclusive of Ondo.

Even Osun is generating more IGR than Anambra.

We need to heighten our call for regionalisation.
Lobatan. grin
Thank you jare.
And until proven otherwise this is what we have as at the moment.

I said they have low GDP from low allocations. The info up there have Enugu trouncing both Ogun and Oyo, so how does SE have low igr when the complete info is not even there.

Yes, nnewi, Aba, etc have great economies and the dough enters the individual pockets not government purse. That's the informal sector
It's not about individuals or states. It's about each region.

Individuals make up a race.
No, yours is about GDP sef. That's sum of what is coming in from igr, loans and federal allocations, etc .
SE might rank low in that because it has the lowest regional allocation plus one of the least indebted regions.
No!
Race make up individuals.

Who's to blame for your/SE IGR?
Contribute less, receive less.
Thought you people used to boast of how you are better than...? i.e nnewi, aba market etc?

We are yet to see the recent results of the rest of our states and you are already making a regional analysis . Ekiti, anambra, abia, ondo, ebonyi stats are not there, so why are you making comparisons?
in old stats, Enugu didn't rate high but with the right leadership, it's topping the states that used to surpass it.

About Forbes list, where you not the one who FIRST said yorubas don't depend on oil? In the same list, igbos in the first 10 are not oil dependent

In fact in the top 20, ifeanyi uba is the only Igbo with oil stuff, all the yorubas are.
So, who is oil dependent?
Lesson: Dont start what you can't finish
Dependent on oil, yoruba as a race or individuals?

Well, you have a point there but we can only focus on what we have at the moment??
Until it contradicts.

When you used the word' dependent on oil'' I really can't fathom what you meant?
Mind you oil or not those are rich people before they dive into oil.
Adenuga etc.
Now is it a crime to invest or have shares in oil and gas?

NBS said other states are yet to reveal their igr. So where are you getting your stats from? We are talking of sth more recent here.

About dependence on oil, all 4 yorubas in the Forbes list made their money through oil subsidy. So what are you saying?
Go through the link. As it stands? There you have it until....?

And so what? Is it a crime to invest in oil.
Must we all follow the same route?

The SW does well in both statistical data and is probably the region that is trying the hardest to reduce its dependence of oil. If the Yorubas contributed so little to SW GDP, why can't other tribes replicate the SW development in their own states? Why is it that 4 Yorubas are in the top ten richest Nigerian list when Yorubas only make up 21% of the population?

InyinyaAgbaOku:
The National Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday released the Internally Generated Revenue profile of 23 states of the federation for the year 2014.

According to the report, Lagos maintains its lead over other states, generating 47 per cent of what all the other 22 states collected as IGR in the same period. Here are 7 states with the highest internal generated revenue:

Lagos - N276.1bn Rivers - N89.1bn Delta - N42.8bn Enugu - 19.2bn Ogun - N17.4bn Oyo - N16.3bn Akwa Ibom - N15.9bn

13 states - Abia, Adamawa, Borno, Cross River, Ebonyi, Edo, Gombe, Jigawa, Kano, Kwara, Ondo, Taraba and Yobe are yet to submit their report to the NBS.

The IGR made by the states excludes the monthly allocations, which they receive from the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee.
