Not required to notify HMRC when you get a first or second job, it's your employer's responsibility to do that when they payroll you. Regarding HMRC messing up their calculations, they dont need anyone's help to do that. Each time I change jobs I always cringe when its time for my first pay because they generally mess up my tax code and set the estimated income at some outlandish figure.
Maybe I didn't put it clearly enough initially.

You are required to declare a first job while completing the NI information form which is required for your second job. The details are sent to HMRC who them reverts to you with the appropriate tax code for that second job.

In another instance, if one didn't declare that first job, one can clarify directly with HMRC so that the appropriate tax code is applied and outstanding fees (under deduction of tax) paid.

Failure to do either would lead to a brown envelope from HMRC with debt to pay back and et al as I noted earlier.

We don't need to do a back and forth on this as I have people that do two jobs.

In my experience not all fans have the same power. I've used this fan for years, I also have a portable Aircon unit but I haven't used it in a while.
I want to believe what you meant by 'power' is the capacity of the fan to move air (humid air) faster, thereby giving some limited satisfaction analogous to having to smell your favourite dish and not being able to actually eat it.

You dey under fan but you still dey feel hot grin

AC is the only answer to this heat wave!

Simple, no gimmicks fan, but very powerful and durable.
What's really special about this your fan? Would it convert the heat to ice pellets?
Most fans are powerful and durable, they would only circulate same hot air.

When HMRC sends you a brown envelope demand, due to underpayments, hope you would be equally pleased........ 🤣😜
That mostly happens where one has a second job and didn't notify HMRC, thereby incorrect tax deductions are made due to wrong tax code. Not only would the brown envelope be debt, but penalty fees may be required or added and/or even face prosecution for tax evasion. You go explain taya!

Hi.
Your visa decision will be sent through email or until you get hold of the physical passport?
It depends... Personally, I tracked my application status online and kept checking when I expected an outcome, till it landed. Others may have gotten an update via email or phone, not sure.

I don't know what methods they use these days. I'd recommend you check the TLS page for the latest info.

Your housemate used the knife to cook, dumped it (and other items) without washing and tidying and you went ahead to use the same knife without also washing before use.

Are you a female?

A word of advice for people seeking cheap vehicle insurance.......

Avoid using agents, it would always end up in tears........😭😭😭

You would lose your money + have a CIFAS marker on your credit report + if you're unlucky to get stopped by the police, you would appear before a magistrate........
Chief, how do you mean cheap? Cheap, expensive are both relative.

I'd be getting one in a couple of weeks and just need you to clarify and shed more light as I'm already comparing quotes on confused dot com et al.

I agree with the bolded, which is why I stated that most migrants and black people in general have it much easier today, although there will always be progress to be made.

Australia and some other countries are even more expensive than the UK. E.g. In Australia, immigrants have to pay school fees for their children. Education is free here within compulsory school age. They also have to undergo medical tests which affects the premium of the health insurance they have to purchase. In the UK, every immigrant pays more or less the same to access unlimited NHS treatment whether they are fit as a fiddle or have diagnosed/undiagnosed conditions.

I think recent data showed that around 95% (or thereabouts) of recent immigrants are on health and care visas, which means they and their families do not pay IHS. Even those in NHs admin roles are exempted. So the cost to them is a great deal less than £19k for the same size family.
The passion you have for 'anything' UK is unrivalled! Typing volumes back to back!!! Hand no dey pain you? I get back from work and I am gassed out!!! grin

Are you with the government?

I plead the 5th 😂

But medically speaking lol, if the woman has a regular cycle and tracks her dates, and the man is "on high alert", especially during those dates, then no problemo.
You are changing the goal post.

The context of the certainty of the withdrawal not being a 100% is during a woman's ovulation period and not the converse. If it's the converse (that is when she's even likely to not take in even if baba launch), then there's a possibility of a close to 100%.

It usually rolls over.

Duly noted. Does it mean I'll have to wait until my baby turns 3 before she starts school?
You don't have to wait if you have the wherewithal to have her in a childminder or nursery. Otherwise, you'd be waiting. Either ways, you'd pay some money until she turns four.

Having a child here is full time work and massive budget until they of course turn three and over.

So after many years of being on this thread, NO ONE! Not a single person, knows Justwise personally and can come and tell us if he’s okay? We should be ashamed of ourselves kiss

I find myself randomly hoping he’s okay. He’s never disappeared this long before.
We should be ashamed of ourselves if this is the likes of facebook, twitter, WhatsApp, LinkedIn etc. Don't juxtapose them.

The much anyone can do in a faceless forum is to shout out or send a dm, which really has little to no impact. Justwise is quite known (anonymously) and that's it. Chitty-chattying doesn't really mean we know ourselves personally. Even if you feel you know someone, you don't really know them enough to be privy to certain info.

We can only but hope he's alright wherever he may be.

Thank you much . Why do you say I should not take Nigeria lessons please. Anyways, I've paid for lessons in Nigeria already and they're taking me on manual drive. I was told manual vehicles are still in fashion over there.
My concern remains, the paper, temporary license given, would that be tenable over there because I'm sure the main license can never be ready before I leave as my start date is June.
The culture of driving here and in Nigeria is totally different, and since you have been fully booked for some lessons here, why the lessons in Nigeria. Unlearning that driving attitude here is difficult and a lot of work is involved.

Yes, manual transmission vehicles are well in fashion here, but I'm pro-automatic.

I am sure you'd be needing both your DL and international licence here. I'm also sure temporary or paper won't cut it. I'm not quite sure there is a provision for 'picking your licence by proxy'. Confirm and if it's possible, then have someone pick in your stead and DHL here to you.

They're all haters, I'm not so dumb to know about what you've stated. This is my 14th year on nairaland.com soao I know what these dumbskulls are capable of.
I stated a case and they decided to take the most irrelevant part and amplify it. It's hatred, jealousy, bad belle and pull him down syndrome.
The picture is totally clearer to me now! But please, stop using the 'vulgar' words. I understand your angle, the abuse isn't necessary. If you don't like the tone of someone's comment, just ignore and pass. That's what I do and if you must respond, don't always abuse people. When you reply everyone in life and abuse them, you tend to distract yourself from relevant things and burn energy doing that.

Now, we have established you have some basic driving skills and there is a full driving lesson already booked here in the UK to enable you learn to drive here (totally different from driving in Nigeria. Don't take any lessons in Nigeria), secure your licence and continue to 'drive safely'. What other things do you need to know? I just passed my theory test and preparing for my practical driving test. Totally different culture (and way way safer) to driving in Nigeria!

Another hater has arrived, all your negative predictions can never come to pass, I'm sorry to burst your daydreaming imagination. It can't come to pass, you frustrated soul
Kumbhuru, take it easy! No one knows you or anyone else here (some may have met offline and in-person). The fact is no one hates you or is jealous of you, your profession or visa!

I don't think anyone here would encourage you to tell lies in your interview and encourage you to continue to do so or watch you venture into driving here (or anywhere else) which comes with its own attendant risks if you are not capable to!!! Risks that could ruin you, like someone said earlier. If you are attributing the discouragement to all of these as hate and jealousy, then my friend, you are wrong.

I have been here close to 3yrs, drove in Nigeria for well over 7yrs and it just happens that I'm interested in getting my driving licence now. I have found it really hazardous to drive here if one isn't capable to or of 'sound mind'.

Depending on one's IQ/level of grasp, three weeks of intense lessons could be enough and for others, it could take several months! I don't know you or your level of assimilation, so, I can't conclude if that's enough time to pick up the finer details in driving.

When I read you calling someone crackhead and literally abusing others, I was really shocked, but not disappointed (I don't know you)! Totally unacceptable mate.

That said, have your questions been answered here or you require further clarification or you entirely prefer to visit that Ghanaian forum?
