well, she could have been telling him passively what it is ; but still end up providing their daily feeding, and he might have seen that what he had on the table was beyond his acclaimed daily allocation to her and he asked no questions ..u see? like it was a miracle.

ponzi or no ponzi.. he has to find a way to make her open up. it's usually the fear of the consequence that would make a person to be reserved with something like this,to attempting suicide.

I truly don't understand why some people are blaming the op. Put yourselves in his shoe, how can you give your wife 75% of your rent money(she's aware it's rent money) and she can't give account for it, it's not like he's not been providing money for food and family upkeep, please how do you want him to react? I can't just understand why she would attempt suicide, let her see a doctor or involve her people, make person pikin no die for your hand. What if you didn't get to her on time?

Even if he has been providing money for food and upkeep, at times it's not enough,most especially if he has been doing it on his own terms and not hers... He apportions an amount for feeding perhaps but is the wife who goes to the market to find out that it is a different scenario and would probably have to explain to a husband that does not understand... the op hasnt said it all, otherwise does it make sense to you that she would want to commit suicide over that? she was probably threatened and the embarrassment too telling eveyone that this is what his wife is up to, instead of resolving it amicably with her....
