This Oma Akatugba guy is just an ass. He is trying so hard to sell Felix Agu to us, the same Agu who preferred playing for one of the German youth teams when he was approached by Rohr to turn out for the super eagles It

If I could remember he even had an agreement with rohr prior to his invite to the German u20 Abi u21 team. Na the same player Oma is trying to repackage to us as German born who is dying to wear our colours

I confronted him on X and asked him why isn’t he trying to engage a player like Atubolu in his podcast for us to know his stand on repping 9ja instead he is trying to repackage and sell to super eagles fans a player that preferred turning out for German youth team when a spot in the super eagles team was offered to him on a platter of gold? He pretended and argued that agu haven’t been approached by our football administrators but all of a sudden became mute when I told him that rohr reached out to the player and had an agreement with him which he later disregarded and preferred playing for the Germans

Shame on you oma !!
Na little difference Dey between this guy and pooja

You are picking out players who are unproven but showing potential and are just starting their careers.

I would have picked out Tim lroegbunam and Chukwuemka Carney at Everton and Chelsea respectively. Both exceptional player's in the premier league but Tim restricted by injury but recovering and Carney by senior international top players ahead of him at Chelsea.

What do you think ❓
I will like the NFF to make a move for carney now since he is presently out of Favour with Chelsea(England no fit reason am). The boy is good and he will definitely add something different to our midfield.

Baba read the post I responded to, nothing he wrote is contextually similar to what you wrote here. I have my opinion on journalists visiting the Super Eagles camp but that wasn't what he wrote about. He particularly mentioned Cubana Chief Priest and Carter Efe who I believe have never visited a super Eagles camp before. This was a commentary on their life outside of camp hence my objections.
I’ve seen a video of Carter efe in camp during training session. I think he was creating content with boniface or something.

Update on TheGoodJoe

NB: Please kindly put banters aside and take this seriously. Resist also the insensitive temptation to link this to Man City's current run of form. This is no joking matter, I plead

Now, I know a couple of monikers have been asking for weeks now about the whereabouts of TheGoodJoe. Truth is, I didn't want to share anything even though I knew all along what was happening with him and that is because I had not gotten his consent yet to share it (I have that now). He was going through a whole lot healthwise and I kept touch with him from the onset.
I just didn't wanna bring something so sensitive and private without his consent to the thread.

About 2 weeks ago or so, TheGoodJoe suffered a diabetic mini-stroke that really knocked him down. It led to him entering a semi-coma which kept him bed ridden for days but now he is up and fine again and has even been discharged as recently as yesterday.

He is fine but still undergoing serious followup checks with his doctors and more.

Please, kindly channel some of your prayers 🙏🏽🙏🏽to TheGoodJoe's health. Pray that this diabetic episode won't see the last of him. It is well. Amen.

In all, TheGoodJoe is sound currently. He can walk again and move around. He couldn't as at several days and weeks back. He is okay but still needs checks to ensure no relapse occurs. We thank God for his Life.

He also wishes you all a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year ahead.
May God perfect thegoodjoe’s health. Wish him a quick recovery
Christianity EtcRe: How My Churchy Upbringing Influenced Me As An Adult (long Post) by Toylove: 11:26am On Dec 22, 2024
Goodlyhrt:
My parents tried to raise us in the way that most Christian homes would go.. In the way of the Lord! And all the associated activities of going to Church all Sundays, ignoring all other associations as they are perceived as being unequally yoked with unbelievers. Adhering to all doctrines of the church no questions.

I was raised in this type of environment. In short my parents were staunch members of the Deeper Life Christian Ministries (DLCM) and all my formative years where under the doctrines and teachings of the church.

My parents and the Church taught me to put all my hope in the Lord in all situations and never to complain much because God will make a way even at the dieing minutes.

So I grew up weary of my non church going environment. I wouldn't find myself being a social animal that I am working aggressively hard on becoming nowadays.

So I made church friends, and went to church gatherings, church schools right until my secondary school days.

But there is a catch.

I watched my family falter and we lost everything we had. My father went down with diabetes around 2008 and nobody to help. He lost his carpentry workshop and showroom.. almost lost his life to the disease.

The Church, my church DLCM couldn't offer us good help because they too were individually waiting on the Lord too. So they offered us help but meager.

But that was the only gathering we knew and are aquatinted with.

No Umunna membership, ordinary friends gathering or in another word Friends club. Even market association, my parents never belonged to any of those.

We solely waited on the Lord and around 2011, my dad's diabetes was somehow controlled. Thanks to my Uncle in the village who came to our rescue by using herbs and leaves to help my dad. But not without enough convincing and lobbying from my uncle because my parents saw the help as being fetish of some sort.

In fact at that time we were not in talking terms with the said uncle because of his native practices. But at the end of the day he came to our rescue through the herbs he gave to my dad.

What I am saying is that my parents lifestyle of being too churchy in the way the raised us has been net detrimental in my life as a grown man and to my siblings too.

Talking about me. I didn't finish my education due to my dad's health and the fact that there's no one that could help me who my dad is aquainted with. My social skills is zero until recently. I didn't know how to deal with anybody outside talking about church related stuff and academic stuff I was lost.

So I am on this situation all thanks to my parents way of life of being too judgemental of everything not church related.

In short right now I don't how to keep a healthy relationship - you know calling to check up on someone, buying gifts, attending birthdays and all those stuffs that make knowing people interesting. I am just trying to pick these stuffs up from the street now.

And it hasn't helped in any way.

I think it has brought untold hardship to our lives in the sense that we suffer alone with no one to help. Not uncle's, not friends because we hardly make friends. In those days I wondered why no one visits my parents at home while all our neighbors hosted visitors almost all day especially on Sundays. Unless we are hosting Bible study session.

The simple truth is that no one should exist alone in this plane Earth. We were never built to survive alone and my parents and the church were all wrong.

So I stopped going to church totally. I hated my life how it has turned out and wish I could've made my own decisions earlier in life.

Of a truth I started dodging church activities very early in my teen years but I met stiff rebuttal from my dad. You know the "if I don't see you in church blah blah blah no school fees for you blah blah blah".

Because I started noticing something was off.

They said God answered prayers but I couldn't get answers to mine. I could remember one time in the DLCM camp ground. I prayed earnestly to be healed of my deformity, seeing that others got theirs and I was moved and cried sore for God to heal me. Even made promises to God if he proves his faithfulness. But it seemed the blessings from pastor Kumuyi would never get to me.

I was depressed and got angered.

Starting from then, my prayer life took a dive. Interest in the things of the church tanked.

Also my dad's ill fortune and how we suffered to eat most times during that time, made me question God and doubtful in everything.

In conclusion. We are never going to survive alone as species. We all need US in our lives.

I have started opening up to non church related associations lately. I even joined another church howbeit a modern church if you know what I mean. But now, I joined the church with a purpose. Not because I like going there but because I needed the connections there.

In the Bible it says that we should worship God with understanding but most non-orthodox denominations don't understand a thing.

My message to everyone.

Go out there and be aquainted with your fellow humans. Don't listen to religion and its backwater ideologies because we can't survive alone.

Join a political party, know some force men and become friends. Go to events with the sole aim of meeting new people.

Attend seminars and be active in the society.

A little appraisal of the Yoruba people. In the way some of them practice the Abrahamaic religion. They don't go overboard like the Northerners because of Islam or as strict as the Easterners, my people, in the way they practice Christianity. I stayed in Lagos for upto six years and I was initially confused in the way they practiced the Abrahamaic religions but now I understand better and I am in love with their way in that aspect.

Lastly be wise in your association with people. I.e. avoid secret societies or cult groups because although they'd promise you protection but it's all a lie.

I want to add this.

I learnt this from a pastor.

He said that the reason why Africa is suffering and is in great poverty is because we don't have more partnership businesses.

People have really nice business ideas but no one to sponsor them because African people are not inclined to form partnership so they don't know how to handle it.

In Europe or "the West", many people live off their investment in numerous business partnerships. No matter how little the business they invest in it and get it working good and then get ROI. Even when they are not actively employed or run their own personal business. But they are getting ROI from the investment in other people's businesses.

I think this is true though.

Sorry for the long read. smiley
I’m in the same shoe as you, although I am not struggling, but I find it difficult making new friends due to my upbringing. I really want to learn how to make friends.

Ideal weight not exceeding 25kg per luggage, remember not to put any food items in your hand luggage.

I wish l had brought more dried fish, more ogbono, egusi crayfish, nigerian maggi, poundo yam, elubo

There is plenty garri here and the price is reasonable.
Uhmm
TravelRe: The Adventures Of A New UK Migrant by Toylove: 11:16am On Dec 18, 2024
LMay:
23kg max not 25kg if Turkish Airlines. That is, 23kg each in two places. That's for your main luggage.

8kg max for your cabin luggage.

Total of 54kg!

UKMigrant has touched on food items to bring on. Let me help with luggage packing tips, you might need them.

Tips

You're not allowed to put food or sharp objects (cutlery, blade, pocket knife etc) in your cabin luggage or carry on (hand bag/laptop bag), so pack smartly.

Tightly pack all your clothes, shoes, books, or weaves (if female) into your cabin luggage. Instead of folding clothes passively or mindlessly like we do when arranging our closet, roll each tightly into a bunch. This will squeeze out air & give you more space in the box to squeeze more clothes into. You can watch YouTube videos to learn this technique.

Now you're left with food items, sharp objects, and any cream/perfume exceeding 50ml (Only liquid of less than 50ml per bottle is allowed in the cabin luggage). Now arrange all these carefully into your main luggage.

For food items, put into ziploc bags or transparent polythene bag like pure water bags. Put different food items into each and label appropriately...e.g Melon, Ogbono, Ugwu vegetable etc.

For ladies carrying weaves, discard the packs to make your luggage relatively lighter.

Palm oil is not allowed. Don't even bother!

You don't necessarily need an industrial scale to weigh your luggage. Buy a regular domestic scale. You know the ones "Check your weight" guys carry around? Yes, that one. It's less than 2k.

To weigh, first stand on it and check your weight. Write it down or memorise it. Now put your luggage on your head and check your combined weight. Subtracting your own weight from the combined weight will give you the weight of your luggage.

Your allowance per main luggage is 23kg but aim for 21kg or max 22kg at home. Why? The scale at Murtala Mohammed Int'l Airport is forward by about 2kg. You don't want to stress yourself with reshuffling at the airport or trashing stuffs you bought with your hard-earned money. Pack smartly from home!

Airport staffs are not smiling again. Before they allow you pass/check-in a 23.9kg bag, you'll beg tire. Anything above that, they'll tell you to go obtain a ticket of $150 per overweight bag upstairs! You don't need that wahala in your life.

What else?

Remember I asked you to stuff all your clothes & books plus shoes into your cabin luggage? Trust me, it would have exceeded 8kg by now. You know the box itself will add to the weight as well.

Let me give you orijo. grin

1. Your laptop bag is not weighed. That's an extra space to put clothes, books, laptop (of course), charger etc.

2. Your hand bag isn't weighed either. If you're a lady, that's a plus. You can carry a laptop bag + your handbag alongside the cabin bag.

3. If you're eleru town council like me & you've utilised all available spaces yet you're still not within allocated kg limits, fear not. There's still a way.

Leave your original cabin luggage with somebody (eg family/friend who followed you to the airport). Let them act like they own the bag while they simply stand by it.

Check in your laptop bag as your Cabin Luggage. They'll tag it and return it to you while the two main bags are passed to cargo. Now remove the tag and stickers on your laptop bag and place it on your original Cabin Luggage you kept with your escort. You're done!

With these tips, you'll have a smooth sail luggage wise.

Extras....

Depending on how light or fancy you want to travel, those silly Echolac boxes are not your friend. 1) They'll add to the overall weight 2) They're not durable. Most would be damaged (broken handles, broken wheels, torn surface areas, etc) before you arrive your destination. How would you even lift a damaged box? You'll place it on your head maybe grin

Invest in a quality box. Might be pricey but it will last for years and save you from embarrassing situations. I don't know if/where those are sold in Nigeria. I bought mine in the abroad. This is my 5th year of usage and I travel very frequently. It's still intact.

If you're low on cash, buy those very strong bagco ghana must go bags as main luggage. Not the usual ones. This one is a bit recent & it comes in one color - grey! More like a grainy white mixed with black. It costs about N1,500 per bag. Nothing to be ashamed of. You wont even see it until your final destination after you check it in at MMIA, so you can still form posh in transit with your cabin luggage. Regular travellers use it a lot. It's very light and durable. For your information, they sell it in the abroad too. So what? In fact, its a life saver for people whose boxes get damaged at the airport. Just that they'll pay a few extra thousands more to procure it at the airport.

No use am as cabin baggage oooo. You'll look like Osuofia in London. Hehehe. Joking. Use a correct small sized box as cabin/hand luggage.

Third option is to source for lightweight boxes (rare) or lightweight travelling bags with wheels (looks like a piece of cloth with wheels attached when empty. The box-shaped compact ones are heavy).

Wishing you a safe flight!
Great
