Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has strongly condemned the ongoing attacks on the state, stating that the people behind the violence are not even Nigerians. He made this statement with a sense of urgency, saying, "Benue is under siege" and that the attacks have a much bigger agenda than just local disputes.
In a heartfelt interview with Channels TV, Governor Alia said the attackers speak a different language and are clearly foreign elements trying to destabilize the state. His words reflected deep concern, not only for the lives lost but also for the future of the people in Benue.
“These attackers aren’t from our communities. They don’t speak our languages. We’re dealing with something far beyond just local conflict; this is an invasion. Benue is under siege, and we need help now,” Governor Alia explained.
Land Grabbing and Foreign Aggression
The governor believes the continuous attacks are not just random acts of violence but part of a larger, well-coordinated plan to seize the state's fertile agricultural lands. According to him, these forces have been using sophisticated tactics and, in some cases, enforcing extremist laws, which suggests a much more organized effort than simple local banditry.
“It’s clear to us now that this is about more than just violence for survival. The aim is to take our land, our heritage. This is not something we can handle alone,” Alia added.
The Need for Federal Intervention
Governor Alia has called on federal authorities to intervene immediately. With an increasing number of attacks, the situation has reached a breaking point, and the people of Benue need help. Alia has asked for heightened security measures, including a more robust security presence to protect the people, especially in areas where the attacks are most concentrated.
“We need help from the federal government. Our people are suffering, and we are watching our land being taken over by forces beyond our control,” the governor said, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
Governor Alia also urged local leaders and community members to come together and work with security forces to ensure the protection of Benue. His appeal for unity is a call to strengthen local resilience in the face of external threats.
Rising Displacement Crisis
The attacks have forced many Benue residents to flee their homes, leaving them in temporary displacement camps. These people are in dire need of aid, and Alia has called for humanitarian assistance to support the displaced families. Many are struggling with the harsh realities of shelter, food, and medical care.
“We have families who have lost everything. They need our help, and they need it now. We must act quickly before things get worse,” Alia said.
A Call for Unity and Action
Despite the severity of the crisis, Governor Alia has urged the people of Benue to remain united. He believes that only by working together can they face this threat and protect their homes.
“This is a moment for all of us to stand together. We cannot let these attackers take what belongs to us. We will fight for our land and for the future of our children,” Alia concluded.
The Need for Proactive Security Measures
The governor’s call for a proactive national response comes at a time when the security situation in Benue is becoming increasingly critical. He believes that national forces must coordinate more effectively to counter the foreign-backed insurgency now spreading in the state.
Governor Hyacinth Alia has made it clear that Benue is facing a serious security threat from foreign-backed attackers. His call for federal intervention, unity, and enhanced security is a plea to save his people from a grave crisis. The situation remains dire, and without a swift response, Benue may continue to face the devastating consequences of external aggression aimed at taking away the state's land and resources.
kayperry: Not true, Affordability exist, infact it exist on both hardcopy & app dictionary, affordability exist in every part of the world governance and consumer protection exist
In the business world, no producer thinks of price without cognisance to " Affordability" for targeted clients/buyers
In sane climes where true governance exist, Govt make efforts to subsidize essentials for the average citizen cos "affordability" is key to consumption and turnover rate of businesses
Bro please go back to school, its not tew late
That specie you quoted is known for spewing rubbish here…always !
Blazebond: All of you clowns insulting him are proving him right,in Nigeria the youths are programmed to hate Nigeria, Al they do on social media is to insult and curse Nigeria and if you ask them.for solutions to the problems that they are angry about, none of them can give you a single solution, they will travel abroad and slave themselves over there working over there jobs, but they will never try such in Nigeria, they will gladly curse nigeria and happily worship Europe and America for no reason other than self-hate.

Vision101: Conversion is the latest 🤣 craz in Nigeria. Mention any amount then they will convert. There's an award for it. Next statement is "Nigeria is finished"
PressMyButton: The man in power is aware of their game and he's ontop of it. It's the same pattern, they don't have any other new plan except this old satanic bloodthirsty game. But they are messing with the wrong guy, this not not Goodluck Jonathan, this is Jagaban. Something tells me Jagaban is planning something big that will shock everybody.
After God, na Tinubu 💪 God bless Nigeria.
Do you mean TIfnubu is ontop of the game supporting the killers ? Because they are having the upper hand.
Brendaniel: They there dey deceive yourself, I actually used AI to also do the calculation and it returned back over 1000% from 2015 to 2025
Then if you average it on all prices of goods and services in Nigeria you should be getting around 800-900%.
You've been deceived big time...
Read the meaning of CPI and learn, that was why when I was hearing that Argentina was having inflation of over 1000 percent and Nigeria was still having at 18% or so, I knew something was so off...
I had to do my own calculations....
you should know that anybody supporting this government is a dullard nau.
J3susFr3ak: Thanks for sharing your thoughts. If you did look back into my post history, I was never fond of BAT especially in his unfortunate role in enabling the disaster called Buhari regain some political gain after being relegated in his prior serial campaign losses. Evidently, my concerns were proven back then as the killings and genocides escalated during his tenure since any mentally deranged person with a village grudge can get the to the ears of the Fed Security Chiefs to begin to wield Jihadist agendas with ethnic purges. Sadly BAT was silent too at that time.
On the other hand, looking at the scenario now very critically, you also have to ponder what the next best options are. From a world-view perspective, even with his flaws, BAT does not share the same primitive and animalistic blood-lust brand of Islam the Northern Muslims fanatically espouse. There might be exceptions to his other Yoruba kinsfolk but on a broad brush stroke--he appears to be more pragmatic on that particular issue.
The sudden and radical economic decisions and policies were drastic. I am not so sure if you were faced with the same situation--if you were handed over an empty treasury coffer with billions of dollars of debts into the future---I am not so sure if your approach will be different too? Perhaps, lay it down gradually and humanely....that would be th best choice. It's just like Trump now observing the trillions of dollars of foreign debt decides to radically raise tarriffs (something which would have hurt their economy even painfully more) then decides to soft-pedal and opt for a softer landing on certain category items. Even me...I still would not have been so sure what to do right away if given that "Subsidy" and empty coffer problem. The best approach would be to raise the productitvity and opportunities of common people and most importantly try to make the country a lot more productive in farm related activities since getting a nation food supplies steady and fed is a SECURITY issue too.
But this is exaclty what his predecessor and his devilish cohorts from the Sahel attempted to DESTROY--in order to make certain sections of the populations landless, destitute and yeah....subservient. And do you know exaclty why the SAHEL Muslim populations FLOCKED massively to the Nigerian state and cause the insane levels of chaos, deaths and destabilazation?
BECAUSE OF THE OIL SUBSIDIES! Unfrotunately, the years of the FG subsidizing oil made it cheaper here and convenient for Sahel migrants and others to simply get it cheap and enrich themselves where they came from. Southern Oil and Gas was somehow the ultimate prize and the whole ocean access thing. And seeing the importance of oil in the Nigerian economy and the inroads their Muslim cohorts have made in dominatiing aspects of the economy and security--guess what was now the logical outcome of these moves? Absolute displaments and genocides of indigenous peoples! Tinubu's initial subsidy policy made the whole need for the Sahelian migrants to throng around for cheap oil here somewhat moot. But then....it's still a sick twisted game.
I am sure you know dare devils hardly give up and see this as a temporary snafu. The Nigerian basic logic has been to Control the Government...then Control the Economy and Security from a very corrupt over-centralized mess.
I wager that if there is any room to reason at all and talk through these issues to get to root solutions....Tinubu might give you a listening ear. I really doubt any greedy Mohammedian from the Sahel would.
Writing long epistle without saying anything.
Even a dullard reading this rubbish can tell you support the druggie.
9jatriot: To say it was not improving is to tell a lie. But I am not suprised, many of you guys were not happy that it was thten.
Now, let us for academic purposes agree that it was not, why is the resurgence or sudden media exposure happening when you guys started all these collation talks? Is there something you guys are hiding?
Hopefully, when the government starts clipping the wings of the sponsors, we will not hear talks of oppositions being targeted.
clipping which wings? Na today?
Hasn’t APC been sensoring the media concerning reporting herdsmen attack since the time of Buhari?
Didn’t APC transform bokoharam to bandits?
You guys are really irritating, to say the least.
There was no time insecurity reduced, instead they have been hitting places that were free from attacks before now, especially in the east and southwest.
After all, Ribadu came out 2 weeks ago to tell us that violent attacks like this had reduced by 90%, the same time frequent attacks were going on on places like Enugu , eboyin , benue and plateau.
Lies is in the DNA of this administration and their supporters.
That you choose to bury your head in the sand doesn’t change the facts on ground.
Keep supporting evil… by the time you realize what is happening, you’ll have no where to call your country, because they are also coming for you. It’s just a matter of time.
