Nigeria. Poor sensitization is our major problem, how'd you just design new note and then spread to the public while putting on hold the old one in the same process. With the low level of proper awareness this becomes the trend with smart individuals who would want to create negative opportunities out of it. Funny enough, we can't blame this individuals. |

Ahead of the forthcoming General elections in Nigeria, starting with the Presidential Elections on Saturday, February 25th 2023, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has urged Nigerians to confirm their polling units. No person will be allowed to vote in any polling unit they aren’t designated. The number of polling units where elections will be held on 25th February 2023 and 11th March 2023 are 176,606. You can check your polling unit in two ways – either via a text message to INEC designated numbers or via INEC’s website. 1. Using INEC Website This is the first step in confirming your polling unit. Apart from knowing, it can also help you get the specific directions to your polling unit. Follow these simple steps: 2. Fill out the marked boxes starting with your state of registration, last name, first name, and date of birth (day, month and year) m 3. Click on ‘I’m not a robot’ this might check the box immediately or prompt a page where you will be required to select some items on the pictures below. Select the required item and click ‘verify.’ 4. Once the box is ticked green – click on ‘check status’. Kindly make sure you fill out the exact details you registered with INEC as any difference in name or date of birth will result in your name not found on the register. If all the information is correct, the next page will display your details including the LGA, polling unit and polling unit code. 5. You can also find a direction to your polling unit on the INEC site or by clicking https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/pu Use Voter Identifiable Number Alternatively, you can use your Voter Identification Number (VIN) to check your polling unit and polling unit code. Only the last 5 digits of your VIN will be required. If you wish to use VIN, visit https://cvr.inecnigeria.org and scroll down, then click on ‘check status using VIN’ and fill out the boxes. Using Text Message According to INEC, to check the location of your polling unit, text the name of your state, last name, and the last six digits of your voter identification number (VIN) to 09062830860 or 09062830861. Last week, during a meeting with the national leaders of political parties in Abuja, INEC through its Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, said that elections will not be held in 240 polling units across 28 states. INEC said the affected polling units do not have new registered voters, adding that no voter also transferred to those polling units. Therefore, it is important you check your polling unit and confirm its authenticity.

It's just tomorrow, our PVCs would decide. |
With just under 24 hours left, Nigerians are on the brink of determining their next leader. People in Nigeria who do not possess Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been advised to refrain from going to polling stations during Election Day, as only those who hold valid PVCs will be permitted to cast their votes.
