okay okay...No more BBA posts from me before people begin vex...cuz I know some don dey nurse their anger already.. Well, about that "Medicine is for those who scored 260 n above in jamb"...lemme say a thing or two about that. It's generally believed that to increase your chances of being admitted..one has to score really high in Jamb..Usually people would say.."Score 250n above n You'll have an edge over your rivals" And when it's a really competitive course e.g Medicine... You are expected to score really high...even as high as 280 (not really because it's an admission criteria/requirement) but it's just a way of increasing your chances. E.g a guy might come here n post...."I put in for Medicine o...I got 260 in jamb...wat re my chances"...n the reply the guy would get is..." 260? Wow! You are good to go" but someone else would come n post "I put in for Medicine, I scored 216 in jamb...wat re my chances?" N he'd get a reply like "bro, your score is really low for medicine o..you need to work harder in postume"...n dey'll even add... "May God help you" lol.. That's because..mere looking at both scores... He doesn't really have a chance. But one thing people fail to realise is... If you look at the scores merely, you'd be deceived.. Do the math.. 260/8= 32.5 216 /8=27... The difference is 5.5 but mere looking at both scores, the difference is about 44...abi? Then let's say they both wrote the postume..The guy with 260 in jamb..got 56 in postume.. 260/8=32.5 56/2=28 aggre= 60.5 approximately 61 N the guy with 216 in Jamb ..got 70 in postume.. 216/8= 27 70/2= 35 aggre= 62 n at first..mere looking at their postume scores, d difference was just 14..shey? But you see the 'magic' after the whole calculation! That goes to show you The postume matters more! Or.. You think Uniben will admit the first person leaving the 2nd based on the flimsy pretext "the first guy scored 260 in Jamb?" not to mention how controversial this year's jamb was. Wait o...I thought we've discussed this before? Well,The thing is...yes! There are Universities that set Jamb cutoff for professional courses...eg Law, medicine...n the cut off could be 240 or so...it varies.....n if you don't beat that jamb cut off...you are expected to either go for a change of Course/institution form or forget the admission. N Uniben does not operate that way, if She does... she'd let everyone know. Like She tells you... Our Jamb cut off is 200 like She tells you...we don't accept 2nd choice. I hope doubts don commot? N the claims about Edo peeps dominating the list...i'd give an answer on that....but first... I need to chop belleful... Until then....Takia |
