TEN GOOD REASONS TO TRAVEL

1. Traveling brings joy , happiness and satisfaction to many. The fulfillment of dreams and a sense of achievement .

2. It quenches adventure’s thirst . During travels, you can embark on adventurous thrills and dare devil activities (hiking, skydiving, boat cruise, window shopping, hang gliding, wildlife safari, clubbing, partying with strangers, diving, snorkeling, kayaking…) that you would have been limited to do in your own environment.
Travel helps to shake things up and not allowing you get stuck in one spot, it’s a perfect medicine for anti aging, as your mind becomes younger and develops an active imagination. Traveling gives you stories and experiences you can share with your loved ones , children or future generation.

3. Travel brings connections, It helps to network with destiny helpers, shape your future, build up your networth and valuable contacts. One can meet new friends on the plane, at at event in an hotel, at a resort, club or even an airline office.

4. Travel is education, one learns economy, politics, geography, history, navigation, sociology , negotiation, bargaining, communication. No matter one’s educational background or experience, one will always blend when one travels , it might just take a while but with more patience, such person will adjust. It exposes travelers to new cultures, new experiences, new languages, new food and drinks, new way of life. That way one has a better balanced view of life and see things from others perspectives.

5. To seek for better opportunities. Traveling helps you discover new jobs, new ways of making money, making career changes or build new relationships. You will be surprised that while you may be single in your town as the dating pool becomes limited, going to a new environment, you may become the most sought after. As humans naturally gravitate and become interested in the new face , new person. So if you are still single, just divorced or recently widowed and seeking for new partnerships. You might need to travel to find your kind of person as long as you are not averse to dating people outside your tribe, belief or religion or you might get lucky to meet someone from your native land.

6. Traveling helps to protect one’s mental health, many travel because they want to feel safe, are concerned about the security at home, need access to better healthcare, system of education or reliable services (Uninterrupted power supply, internet, good transport system) . Going away temporarily or permanent relocation acts as a gateway from crises (war, persecution, breakups, loss of job/finances). It is a stress reliever , anti-depressant and emotional booster. A vacation no matter the length of days will make you realize those challenges that seem big at the time might just be nothing to stress over once you are away from them. Traveling to anew country or location can be the fresh start the person just need to start life all over without limits.

7. Traveling helps you understand no one is invisible, infallible or indispensable. It allows you to take care of your emotions, health, and social well being.

8. Traveling with your family or to see your loved ones creates strong bonds, endear you to them. It will bring you closer to your family. Once you realize no one got your back better than your Family and close friends except God. The more time you will want to spend with them.

9. Traveling is life, it’s good to the soul and it’s easy to do. With the right planning, savings and determination. You can always visit the destinations of your dreams and enjoy the delights they have to offer. It gives a sense of accomplishment.

10. Traveling is a self discovery journey. It makes people realize who they are, learn more about themselves, develop the skills they never knew they had ,open their eyes, help voyagers discover new places. Many travel just because they know they can, it proves that dreams do come true .
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by TravelQueen(f): 5:34am On Jan 30, 2022
My answers to you are as follows :

1. Best thing to do is to defer your admission , scholarship or no scholarship
2. You do not have to pay a new sevis fee, even if you decide to change the school, you can instead request for sevis transfer.
3. Emergency appointments are not given to those who have benefited from it in the previous six months. That is it is after six months of a previously scheduled expedited appointment before you can apply again. It is to give others chances.
4. You only have a minimum of two times to reschedule an appointment including the initial one. For every new appointment you will have to pay a new mrv fee.
5. You can fill in a new ds 160 and update your profile with it. There is a post here on how to do it or call the contact center of the us embassy to assist.

Ijchichi5190:
Hello informed ones,,I'm new here ,a friend suggested this trend to me and I wish you to help me out please because I'm very confused now.

Firstly I got admission to study Masters in Chemistry this Spring session and classes starts by January 18 2022 but unfortunately for me I got denied on 15th Nov 2021 for F1 visa at Abuja Embassy from one slim VO American guy ,I can't really pinpoint the reason for my denial. I was on 50% Dean's Scholarship also.

I was advised to reapply but atleast give sometime before doing that so as not to show being desperate even though I had no time again. So on the 15th Dec 2021 I reapplied and got a far date which is on July 2022.So I applied for Expedient, wrote to them the reason and uploaded the necessary documents to prove why I applied for Expedient and was shattered when their mail came in that my Expedient is denied.
From my research, I found out that I can't apply for Expedient again with same DS-160 Application, so right now I'm stuck with this very far date and have updated School of my recent situation which they asked that my admission be deferred to Fall session.

Note that my ist visa application, I got a far date in June 2022,but applied for Expedient and got Closer date which was Nov 15th 2021 for my ist visa interview and did exactly same for my second Expedient application but got denied.

Please my questions are, don't pass me by please.

1.Is it advisable for me to defer my admission to fall session, note that deferring this admission to fall session automatically cancels my 50% Dean's Scholarship award given to me ,the scholarship is non-transferable as indicated in the letter. Meaning I'm left with only admission without the Scholarship OR is it better I cancel this admission and start fresh by seeking for an admission from same University? Or another University?

2.I have paid my Sevis fee on Nov 2021,which expires by Nov 2022 ,,,.I want to also seek admission from other Universities while waiting for the best option, if I'm lucky to get admitted in another American University with funding, and I decide to go for it,can I use same Sevis Fee payment receipt for the school?.

3.Since my current school of admission suggested that I defer this Spring admission and I have already filled my DS-160 form for Spring Session, paid for visa fee and picked date which is July 2022 for visa interview, filled date of School resumption and when I intend traveling if I get Visa and school is asking that I defer my admission so I can use the interview date for Fall session, please how possible is it to use same DS-160 for Fall session interview since I already filled information containing Spring resumption. Can i make any changes or do I have to reapply for another DS-160 and pay for visa fee again?

Please I'm sorry for the long epistle, I'm confused and would appreciate your help.

God bless.

Travel / 7 Travel Tips In Crossing Seme Border by TravelQueen(f): 12:12am On Dec 17, 2021
1. This is the famous land border between Nigeria and Benin republic. Close to both Badagry and Cotonou. A high volume of People and goods pass through it daily and is usually open 24 hours.

2. Coming from Nigeria, the road leading to and from the border (Iyanaoba-Seme) has the highest number of checkpoints I have ever seen. Every agency has their own checkpoint, even 5 or more , especially between Badagry-Seme.

3. It is the border that has the highest presence of uniform officers, whichever agency you can think of that wear uniform, they are there. Including the ones you have not met, Ndlea (drugs), civil defence (Nsdc), police, port health , immigration, customs even some touts.

4. Be prepared to spend money, except you have all your complete documents (valid passport, yellow card) , a frequent traveler along that route or local indigene. Else, if you are a first time traveler or novice, they will charge you for either your naivety or just to wet ground. Or even touts hailing you to get change. Only border that charges its own citizens for crossing. Sighs!

5. The rules for crossing is so easy, walk through (5 mins) and get your papers stamped, or you are carried across by a car/bike and the driver sort out the officials on your behalf, they can either get your papers stamped or not. However I prefer to walk across and just stamp my papers especially if it’s just me. It costs me nothing. With a larger company or chartered ride, I allow the driver go through the stress And hassles.

6.Getting to the border is easy. From Nigeria, enter Seme from mile2, Iyanapaja, Iyanaoba, Igbo elerin or if you don’t get Seme direct, board Badagry bus, alight and get a cab /bus loading Seme. You can’t spend more than N2000/3000 using public transport , otherwise charter a cab and pricing will depend on your negotiation with the driver. Or another option, drive down in your personal vehicle and park your car (do this if you have a trusted person to look after your car at the border). Sometimes, I use this last option.
From the Benin side, enter cab going to seme from Cotonou 500/600Cfa.

7. For the first time, it may seem stressful, but as you travel more. You will get used to it and look forward to future trips.
