Yes. You have to manage it because shyness can cause a setback if not probably manage except you don't desire growth as a being. I was shy as hell and still is but my undergraduate days helped alot. Like someone suggested, join a group in a church where facing a crowd is inevitable. This actually helped alot cause I belonged to ushering unit then. Though it was tough but it helped. I stayed in a family house(corpers lodge) during my service year and it was a learning course for me where it was practically impossible not to face the crowd.
