Some northern governors alongside Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde on Tuesday visited Shasha Market in Ibadan the state capital to assess the destruction at the scene of the clash between Yoruba and Hausa communities.

The governors include Abdulahi Ganduje of Kano State; Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, Bello Matawalle of Zamfara and Abubakar Sanni of Niger States.

They were accompanied by security agents as they went round the market to assess the level of damage done.
The delegation later went into consultations with the Seriki Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin after which they would also visit the Baale of Shasha to appeal to both sides to stop hostilities and forge a more formidable bond for peaceful coexistence.

Popular Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo, well known as Sunday Igboho, has revealed that the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, gave him the sum of N2million to fuel his car after visiting him.

Igboho disclosed this during an Instagram Live Chat with media mogul, Dele Momodu, on Tuesday.
According to him, he met Tinubu during the build-up to the Ondo State governorship election, which involved a former Governor of the state, Olusegun Mimiko.
Igboho claimed that another former Oyo State governor, Rasheed Ladoja, told him that Tinubu wanted to see him at his Bourdillon residence in Lagos.

He then travelled to meet with Tinubu, who persuaded him not to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election, because the party impeached Ladoja as governor in 2006.

Tinubu then doled out N2million for him to fuel his vehicle back to his base.

Igboho denied making his money from thuggery, adding that he is a businessman, who is into cars.

A Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho, made good his threats to expel Fulanis from Igangan in Oyo State. Igangan is a community in Ibarapa North Local Government Area.

Last Friday, Igboho and his supporters stormed the area and gave the Fulani one week to leave.
The grassroots mobilizer issued the deadline when he confronted the Seriki Fulani, Saliu Kadri.

Igboho accused Kadri’s subjects of killing Yoruba individuals. He listed the assassination of Oyo businessman, Fatai Aborode, Alhaja Serifat Adisa and her children, an Igangan prince, among others.

Igboho disclosed he acted on the request of traditional rulers.
The monarchs protested they were helpless about incessant killings and kidnappings.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has expressed that Nigerians are earnestly waiting for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to take over power at the federal level in 2023.
He expressed that Nigerians want this change because they desire a party that can enshrine good governance, improved economy, and developmental projects that PDP has continued to provide in the states that it controls.

Governor Wike made the assertion at the inauguration of the 11.53 kilometers Agbonchai-Afam road, connecting Eleme and Oyigbo Local Government Areas, and performed by the former Senate Majority leader, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume on Wednesday.

The United Kingdom parliament is currently debating sanctions to hand out on Nigerian Government officials involved in the killing of peaceful protesters in Lekki on October 20 and other parts of the country.

Members of parliament are looking to impose direct sanctions on government officials, who played a role in violating human rights during the protest instead of a general economic sanction that may affect ordinary citizens.

Newspaper vendors in Abuja are protesting the death of their colleague, Ifeanyi Elechi.

Elechi was fatally shot on Thursday by a security operative attached to Femi Gbajabiamila, House of Representatives Speaker.

The incident happened within the Three Arms Zone as the lawmaker’s convoy journeyed.

The Surulere representative in a statement confirmed that the officer has been suspended.

On Friday, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command stated that the culprit was not a policeman.

ASP Mariam Yusuf, the Public Relations Officer, FCT Command, disclosed that Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma has ordered an investigation.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has declared that the state’s Security Network Agency, code-named Amotekun Corps, is now fully operational.

Makinde, who gave the declaration, yesterday, at the passing-out ceremony of 1,500 pioneer Amotekun Corps at Emmanuel Alayande College of Education Sports Complex, Main Campus, Oyo, said that security had always been an issue, the reason security was made one of the pillars of his administration.

He, however, said that the 2021 budget had been perfected and concluded at the State Executive Council level, assuring that the Appropriation Bill would be presented to the state’s House of Assembly next week Monday.

“When the story of the Western Nigeria Security Network code-named Amotekun is told, it will be on record that it was officially launched on January 9, 2020. However, the Amotekun journey began earlier. In July 2019, the six states of the South-West, namely Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo States, agreed to set up this outfit.

“Amotekun is indeed a first of its kind security agency because it is a regional security outfit initiated by one of Nigeria’s six geo-political zones.

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has said he wants to be a martyr who will be sacrificed to achieve the much-sought Igbo presidency.

Umahi made the declaration on Tuesday in Abakaliki while briefing newsmen, noting that only martyrs make sacrifices for the peoples’ interest in difficult times.

The governor, who confirmed that he is defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress, said he will not regret the decision no matter its outcome.

“I have to lead the protest against the marginalisation of the Igbos by the PDP and I don’t have to consult anybody to lead such a protest.

“I don’t want the PDP to collapse in the South-East but it can collapse itself in the zone if it does not heed the peoples’ advice to entrench justice, fairness, and equity.

“The PDP should be bold to declare its stand on zoning of the presidency to the South-East and if it cannot, should tell us why we are not capable of holding such a position but will come for our votes during elections,” he said.

Umahi said that the decision to leave PDP was not about leadership but about patriotism, justice, fairness and the overall interest of the people.

A Magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos State on Tuesday, granted N1m bail to Peter Eronmosele Adene, an #EndSARS protester.

It was gathered that the court granted the bail after it rejected a request by the police for an order to detain him for another 30 days, to enable them conclude investigations into the allegations against the defendant.

Tempers boiled over on Tuesday morning as security operatives did not allow family members of an #EndSARS protester, Eromosele Adene, from entering into the Yaba Magistrates Court where his case is expected to be heard.

Reporters observed that the Police had barricaded the street leading into the court with their vehicle.

Some family members were also seen confronting some officers for refusing to allow them to go into the court.

A woman said she was already inside and she just came out to meet someone, only to be prevented from going back in even though her belongings were inside.

Eromosele is being charged with allegations of aiding the #EndSARS protest in Lagos.

He was arrested on November 7 by the police and taken to the nation’s capital Abuja, days later. The case was initially scheduled to hold on Monday.

A yet-to-be identifed Lagos prince has vowed that Oba Rilwan Akiolu will be dethroned.

In a trending video recorded in Yoruba, he accused the monarch of corruption, neglect of the state and the people.

He regretted that Akiolu collects money from the government instead of demanding that the authorities take care of all residents.

The complainant recalled that after violence in the aftermath of the End SARS protests, many expected that the Oba would call everyone and discuss the way forward.

The prince told Akiolu to stop permutions about 2023, adding that kings are expected to provide quality traditional leadership.

“Kabiyesi Rilwan Aremu Osuolale Babatunde Akiolu, we will remove you, we will dethrone you. The way we’ll do it you’ll be surprised.

“It may not be possible legally, but we will do it in a traditional way. You’re not a good father, you’re not a good monarch. You don’t love the people, you don’t love Lagos.”


The prince stated that the Oba still has his “policeman character”.

Akiolu was promoted to an Assistant Inspector-General of Police in 1999, and left service in 2002.

The aggrieved royal member alleged that the retired AIG takes bribe from all corners and owns expensive houses across the metropolis.

He also recalled the theft of the Oba’s symbol of authority as well as the plenty palliatives and cash found in his palace.

“When they took the Opa Ase (Staff of Office), you were complaining but refused to talk about the money found inside a coffin. The money you’ve been collecting since your time in Kogi.

“You are already planning for 2023 (general elections), that’s if you live long till then. But it won’t work.

“You acknowledged that you collect money from Governor Sanwo-Olu three times in a year, that will amount to twelve times in four years. And it’s not small money.

“If you’re are a good father, you should have said “Jide, don’t worry, people are rioting, suffering, give them the money.”

“There are several dilapidated buildings around you, no drainage, no proper planning. Developers rush to build because of the fear that if they delay, you will revoke the land. You must go”, he said

Officers of the Nigerian Army, 81 Division have arrived at the Lagos Court of Arbitration, venue of the probe into the alleged shooting of End SARS protesters by soldiers, on October 20 at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos.

Following a summon by the retired Justice Doris Okuwobi-led Judicial Panel of Inquiry, the Army had submitted the names of three Lieutenant Generals and a Lieutenant Colonel, who will testify before the panel.

The Army, which vehemently denied shooting at or killing any of the protesting youths, had also told the panel that it was ready to show videos capturing its activities at the toll gate on that night.

The military officers are led by the Commander of 81 Military Intelligence Brigade, Victoria Island, Lagos, Brig. Gen. Ahmed Taiwo.

The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Mr Chiji Collins, has been impeached.

Collins was removed from office by the lawmakers on Friday during a plenary at the legislative chamber of the Assembly complex in Owerri, the state capital.

When the motion of the former speaker’s impeachment was move, it was supported by 19 out of the 27 members of the House.

Collins was impeached over allegations of financial impropriety, high handedness, and gross misconduct, among others.

Following his impeachment, the lawmakers elected Mr Paul Emeziem from Onuimo Local Government Area as the new Speaker of the House.

Shortly after he took his oath of office, Governor Obaseki took to the podium to give his speech. It was while he was giving his speech that his ADC collapsed. Other security agents rallied round to help him.

No fewer than four other governors witnessed the inauguration of Edo Governor Godiwn Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu for second term in office.

The inauguration took place at the Tennis Court of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party including Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta and Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State.

PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus, was also present at the event with some other party officials while Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who was represented by a government official.

Obaseki had defected to the PDP from the All Progressives Congress(APC) after he was denied the ruling party’s ticket in the primary election due to intra-party wrangling.

He later defeated the APC candidate in the September 19, 2020 Governorship election, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, for a second term

Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike held a historic meeting with South-East Governors, the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo and the Igbo Community in the State at Government House, Port Harcourt, to deliver a strong, unambiguous message reaffirming the unity and peaceful coexistence of all ethnic nationalities in Rivers State.

The backdrop of the meeting was the rife propaganda proclaiming an unsubstantiated massive extra-judicial response to the recent carnage, destruction and killings unleashed on Oyigbo by some criminals.

The criminals had hijacked the peaceful, youth driven, national consciousness #EndSARS protests across the country, to propagate a myopic and secessionist agenda.

They crossed the line of civility and responsible agitation, which had hallmarked the #EndSARS protests, by killing six Soldiers and four Policemen, stealing their guns, burning down all the police stations and courts in the community and visiting a reign of unprovoked terror and widespread intimidation on Oyigbo residents and this posed a real threat to the peace and security of the area.

A magistrate court sitting in Abuja has remanded five persons who participated in the #ENDSARS protest in front of the National Assembly in Abuja on Friday, November 6, at a correctional center.
This was disclosed by Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate and #RevolutionNow convener.
Sowore had on Friday revealed that he and some protesters stormed the National Assembly to paint graffiti on the road leading to the Assembly. While on it, they were attacked by policemen and five of protesters were arrested.

In an update shared on his Facebook page, Sowore revealed the arrested protesters were arraigned before a Magistrate court same Friday and the court denied them bail and ordered that they be remanded in prison custody.

The protesters are demanding swift justice for the victim and that those behind the killing and cover-up of the act be punished accordingly.

They also accused officers from the Lagos State Task Force headed by DSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, of killing the promising youth.

Pelumi Onifade, a reporter with Gboah TV joined his colleague to cover an attack on October 24 on a government facility at Abattoir, Oko Oba in Agege.
The 200-level student of the Department of History, Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) Ijagun, Ogun State, was an intern with the media outfit.

Amid the violence two weeks ago, policemen deployed to the scene to restore order and allegedly fired some shots, hitting Pelumi in the process.

Pelumi who wore his reporter jacket that day was allegedly among those arrested and after a week of searching for him, his corpse was identified at a mortuary in Ikorodu.
