afrodoc2: I wasn’t talking about just APC. What about PDP?
People have been splitting their votes for years. Being literate or illiterate has nothing to do with it. Unless only literate Nigerians were voting all those years.
These are facts that do not care about your emotions or wishful thinking. I agree but seriously how many Market women, bus drivers, artisans really split their votes? How many Almajiri Northerners split their votes? Majority of State have been electing their Party candidates in all positions, leaving nothing for opposition, bar some few States in the SouthWest mostly. People split votes in States like Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, Kano, Katsina and Many more, but the final results doesn't show it. |

larride: So explain to us what happened in Ondo
Presidential - Atiku (PDP won)
House of reps election
APC won 4 seats PDP won 3 seats SDP won 2 seats
Senatorial election
PDP won 2 seats APC won 1 seat
This election happened the same day on the same ballot.
Do you want us to talk about Bauchi state also? What is so difficult in understanding the phrase( most likely vote for )? I didn't say they will vote LP definitely, i even gave a narrative of Lagos in 2015 and how i intend to vote next year. Show us result of Rivers, Delta, Kano, Katsina, Bayelsa, Zamfara and many other State. I don't see how that phrase is an issue to be honest, it was an assumption and not definite statement. I am not saying people don't split votes in Election, but majority voters expecially the illiterates (no abuse intended) don't split votes and that is fact. |

izzou: The Presidential elections and the Senate comes first
If Obi loses, those people who voted him on that Saturday may likely not come out for the next one.
As for Lagos, all the people that won through PDP, decamped to APC as soon as they got there (maybe almost all)
That is why I see this idea of voting out parties as a joke now. When i lose here, i join the other side I agree with the bolded, but same way if PO wins, LP will most likely have won Senatorial and House of Reps seats too. Such victory can also encourage people to vote LP Candidates in State Elections too. Oghene and Obasa are still in PDP representing Amuwo Odofin and Ojo at the House of Reps, unless you are talking of Dipo, Hakeem Bello and other PDP candidate who won State House of Assembly seat but later decamp to APC and lost relevance any ways. |

afrodoc2: You saw what larride posted about the 2019 elections in Lagos?
You can also check the 2019 presidential elections and 2020 gubernatorial elections in Ondo state.
Your mindset is not special. People (both those knowledgeable and those ignorant about politics) have been splitting their votes for ages. Yet we don't see ruling and opposition candidates winning Election in many States? I don't care what he posted, I gave a narratives of how me i will vote in 2023. From my interaction with friends, colleague, plus with what i read on social media, a lot of Obidients will not be voting for any APC candidates next year. You can't tell an illiterate person either in the South or North to vote two different Party on the same day of election, they will simply thumb print the same Party logo on all Ballot papers and leave. If ballot paper carries pictures of candidate, that would have made it easier for them to vote their choice candidate (if they had any). Lagosians have been electing Tinubu's Party candidates, until 2015 and 2019, cos some Lagos residents who hated Buhari decided to vote for Jonathan and PDP all through. February is near, i am no soothsayer to know who will win but i know most people won't vote any APC candidates and vice versa. I don stop to dey engage Party loyalist since 2019, they will always be biased in favour of their party, regardless of how useless their party has served. We saw same level of shameless arrogance from PDP party loyalist in 2015, but it ended in tears for them las las..... |

afrodoc2: You first said people who will vote LP will most likely vote LP throughout.
But then said you personally will vote LP in presidential election but then vote APC in gubernatorial election, and any other party for the other elections.
Why do you think other people won’t vote like you? This thing is not adding up.
People need to differentiate between what they want to happen, and what is likely to happen. I said will most likely vote, also not every Obidients understand politics like i do. I don't do follow the crowd anymore, i vote for a candidate i believe will serve well at any level. In 2015 i voted for Buhari and Jimi Agbaje, in 2019 i voted for Fela Durotoye and Sanwo-Olu. I have been voting my party candidate until 2015, i voted for Agbaje cos i didn't like how Tinubu imposed Ambode on the party instead of Obafemi Hamzat. People who will vote for Obi, will most likely tumb print for LP in all the ballot papers.... |

Bimffo: A lot of people won't vote LP all through because of Pitobi. You need to be realistic.
The chances of LP not having a single Law maker is greater than having a single LP law maker.
I think there was one LP HOR before, but him sef don deflect.
The nearest example was the election in Osun State. When Pitobi came to Osun State, people came out in droves to see him and give him their support.
Then he stood and campaigned for the LP Governorship candidate like any other leader will do. The man posted Jamb Numbers as scores.
Most Nigerians are carrying the flag of LP today because of Pitobi, not because of any other post.
I will be very stupid not to vote for Seyi Makinde at the Oyo State Governorship election and not vote for Akin Alabi for my constituency.
I don't even know the Governorship candidate for LP in Oyo State. And I don't know the Member of HOR representing Ona Ara Local Government at the Federal level.
And most Oyo state indigenes have those analogy. PDP at State level. APC at Federal level.
If LP has one HOR member or Senate member, it will be a big win for them.
Just 1.
I can see someone claiming ⅓ of the HORs. . It is delusional. It is not realistic. And Obidients have to come to terms that people are in LP solely for PO. In 2015 general election, PDP won 3 House of Rep seat and a number of State house of Assembly seat in Lagos. That has never happened prior to 2015, and it happened because of Jonathan factor. Majority of those who voted for Jonathan where Non indigenes and they voted PDP all through. The people who will vote for PO in next year Election will most likely vote LP all through, and they will be the real structure on ground. Me am voting PO for President and any candidates from any Party i believe will serve well at the National Level, then Sanwo-Olu for Governor and any candidates from any Party i believe will serve well at the State Level. |

Bimffo: But I don't think we should vote along party lines. Nigeria should be at stage where we can vote an independent if we are convinced he will do well.
I am 100% certain that Pitobi will come back to PDP when and if he emerges. He cannot build on the LP Presidency because he at least need 50% of the law makers if he wants to create a modern state.
I am really done with PDP, but if Pitobi is their candidate, then let's see what they are cooking. Sadly their is no provision for independent candidacy in the electoral act, also i believe a lot of people who intend to vote for PO for President would most likely vote for LP all through. So we might see LP candidates winning Senatorial and House of Rep seat too.... |

A001: Complaining daily here changes nothing unless you vote. Complaining here daily when you won't be voting looks silly to me.
The way forward is to keep changing leaders till we get it right, not ranting daily online which is just noise-making unless you take a real action to effect change offline by voting.
America, the UK, France and other First World countries countries didn't just develop by their citizens making a noise online without voting.
They voted to deepen their democracy and change bad leaders till they got it right. Well written, Polithiefcians should never feel comfortable unless they are serving well. Vote out useless Party every time they fail to deliver what they promise the Nation..... |
