1. Mankind was created by one (of the) gods although they were all in agreement on our creation.
However, a few of the gods did procreate with man to give birth to unique humans. Same homo sapien but having superior gifts due to their direct god progenitor.

Adam, Noah & possibly Jesus are examples of these offsprings. And yes, Mary was not impregnated by man (story for another day).

It is possible for a lower god to defeat his elder depending on the circumstances. Use Man City vs Monaco for example, Man City will win most times but Monaco will spring surprises a few times.

The mistake you're making is thinking there is only one god. There are many and their powers and areas of expertise differ. The people they protect/fight also differ.

The god of People A will always afflict People B so it is left for the god of People B to protect/avenge on their behalf. Sometimes a god can afflict his/her own people if they fall short of requirements.
