Health / Re: What Kind Of Brutal STD/STI Can Cause This, (graphic Picture) by tremilatre(m): 12:43pm On Apr 26
Kyng1:
Good morning Nairalanders, I will try to make this as brief as possible.

It happened last two week's Friday, after sleeping with a prostitute, the sex laster about 49 mins and after ejaculation I saw thick red blood all over my dick, it happened that she was on her period, and hide it from me, which she denied that she thought it has completely dried off, I'm mad at myself because I didn't use a condom. "I haven't been using condom with her though, I last had sex with her about a month plus that was the evening of my marriage day, since then I haven't called or had sex with her, until I went back last two weeks Friday.

So after everything, I went home that evening and took 3 cipro tab, next day, my groin was extremely painful and the lymph nodes on my groin swelled. Two days later I developed a mild fever, accompanied by a light headache, bitter mouth and 4 day's later I had sore throat, and swollen lymph nodes on my both under jaws and front of my right ear. Until now my throat is still sore.

I have taken full pack of cipro tab and other drugs but it's not working, I did syphilis text on Saturday and it came back negative, yesterday I went for more text but the lab attendant isn't around, so I met the Dr on duty and explained everything that happened, he told me not to waste my money to conduct more tests that what I have is chicken pox and not an STD infection, I disagreed because I have previously had chicken pox about 11 years ago, although I had just one boil close to my nose back then when I contracted it.

So he gave me these drugs below, I swallowed it last night and applied the lotion, but instead of the boils to dry down, they became more fresher and ripe when I woke up this morning.

I went to another lab this morning and the Dr I met told me that it's chicken pox, he gave me drugs and injection. I'm highly hoping for it to be effective.

Please, Dr's in the house is this really chicken pox? They're all over my face, little on my head, arms, legs, stomach, beards and back.

That's Molluscum Contagiosum, very likely the MCV2 subtype. Pretty aggressive and commoner in those who have sexual contact. Also seen in HIV (I hope you have been tested).
No amount of antibiotic and injections will cure it, it's a viral illness.
To Confirm, you need a swab test.
Have a read about it and approach your doctor for treatment options. Usually when I see ppl with this, treatment is individualised and based on what is avaialable in the locality. So see your doctor for treatment options.

Just watched on CNN about two minutes ago. And was like what is the meaning of this nonesense suit.

Wife was even surprised and asking why should Apple be sued for just doing business like all other Capitalists do

Rubbish!

P.S. I am not a Fan of Apple. However,I believe the court will throw out this case. You can claim monopoly but don't I have the right to do whatever the hell I want with my product?

I can even decide it is only Apple products that can call or chat with each other so why the tears.

Sir, If only you were a student of history and you understand the fabrics of what makes the US a thriving capitalist economy.
It was a similar lawsuit in the 1990s against Microsoft that broke their hegemony on the market, paving the way for the likes of Apple inc to spring up and thrive.
The Shernan antitrust act was passed for a reason. Americans still have the right to the First Amendment but behind what you see and know on the surface market is a really dark and manipulative world in Silicon Valley and Wallstreet.

Trump took the US out of NATO right? What school did you go to please?
Again my friend, you have to read between the lines which was my opening phrase in the quoted text. US all but left NATO in Trump's first tenure, he was even quoted as saying to NATO leaders, "US will not come to your aide". Have you listened to John Bolton when he discussed the mad decisions Trump made including pulling the carpet under NATO?
Do you also know about the "Trump-proof" NATO bill passed in Congress Oct 2023 which makes it near impossible for any president to unilaterally withdraw from NATO?
Global politics is just an iceberg, what we see on the surface is just a fraction of reality.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Leaked Docs Suggest WW3 As NATO Army Ready For China, Russia May Take On Germany by tremilatre(m): 12:10pm On Jan 16
Read between the lines people, the German Ministry of Defence leaked this to the media, guess why? They want more funding.
In Trump's first tenure, he kept pushing for NATO to increase defence spending up to the 2% GDP as per NATO agreement. They didn't. He took the US out of NATO.
With his landslide win in IOWA, he is a shoehorn for the Rep ticket, if he wins and takes US out of NATO again, guess what? The prospect of Russ vs NATO wouldn't be a mismatch anymore.

Religion / Re: RCCG 2024 Prophecies By Pastor E.A. Adeboye. by tremilatre(m): 11:10am On Jan 01
There is no prophecy here, only suggestions and advice.
We need to shake off the shackles of advice coated as prophecies, a lot of us are slaves to religion hence we're always held captive by our slave masters who only seem intelligent and supernatural cos we can't be bothered to read the bible.
Prophecies in the bible were never ambiguous, they were spoken with boldness cos they heard clearly from God.

NYSC / Re: A Quick Breakdown Of ₦33,000 NYSC Allowance By Williamssheks by tremilatre(m): 10:10am On Dec 12, 2023
You earn 33k and you feel its wise to give a tenth of it to your pastor or priest (cos that is what it is) who is way better off than you, I'm sorry that is crass ignorance. People should be wise with the times. Even bible said in Prov 22:16, if you give to the rich, you will come to poverty. Wisdom is profitable to instruct. If you carry church for head, you will be the ones bible was referring to in the phrase: " the poor will always be among you".
I also expect corps members and students alike to live as a community, cook together to save cost. Its not a year to spread your wings and go after babes who are saving their money while you do the heavy lifting.

Sad. Young celebrity who has outpaced himself. There is a reason celebrities who rise so rapidly in wealth have a dedicated driver take them around, its to avoid incidents like this. E get why drivers in his age and career group have very expensive insurance premiums abroad.
Merc is a top of the mid- range SUV with a powerful torque, in the wrong hands, it's a crash waiting to happen. Good thing is that the occupants would most likely escape with not more than a scratch cos it has excellent internal protection.

Planning to get an apartment close to my work and im planning to use to my 3months salary for rent. Is this advisable and economical?
It's up to you really, financial advisers say no more than 3months but consider your priorities:
Commute to work, environment, how much disposable income you have, extra earnings and quality of life.
Before I bought my house, I rented with equivalent of 4months salary. I could get something similar for half the price but my priorities were quality of life, environment and commute.

@ikpemhiTG

Not going to be easy for her to cope with a 5month old baby going into the Winter as she would need a child minder to tend the baby when she is away at work. Child minders are expensive and can cost nkrth of £1k per month.
Starting a new job as paramedic, she would need to go through a lot of training to get used to the system here as paramedics are first responders.
I would suggest the baby stays with your mum or her mum, by summer she should have gotten stable enough to invite you and the baby. Anything beyond the summer of 2024 would be concerning, let me put it like that, I'm sure you understand

Long overdue. Lots of us in the diaspora feel shut out, especially when we contribute so much to the country's economy through diaspora remittance.
The country has a long way to go in ensuring diaspora votes becomes realistic as I can't imagine anyone travelling across the country to vote in London, DC or Ottawa.
Basically, we have to get to electronic voting or allow us mail in our ballots to the High Commission.

The African re-awakening has to continue, unfortunately its coming from the boots because our democratically elected leaders are nothing but pawns in the Westernern chess game. France has no natural resource but has ruthlessley plundered Africa for decades and continues to do so. The scale is so bewildering even for the 21st century. The Congo has to do same and expel Belgium & their co-looters.
The irony with Niger is Americans also have a base in Niger but those ones have small sense, they run it in partnership with Nigeriens

Seriously?

How do you guys survive that and I was finding it strange seeing a particular doctor around the ward for 24 hours.
Yeah, its peculiar to some surgical rotations. Other rotations typically start on-call from 4pm. Surgery has only been for the 'brave', even abroad.

I just graduated from medical school, I'm currently awaiting my HJ posting. I've read a whole lot about HJ and the stressful work conditions; I wonder why nothing substantial has been done to improve the condition of Nigerian intern doctors, especially those in teaching hospitals.

If one isn't careful, rather than learning case management, one may spend an entire year running errands, chasing samples and results, and doing every other stuff but learning the rudiments of the practice.

Congrats on your induction, I hope you have a fruitful career. Housejob is traditionally a period where you experience practical aspects of all you have been taught in med school. In the Nigerian system, no one really expects you to do much studying, only practical learning and doing all the hardwork for your team. Some who plan to take their board exams asap try to squeeze out time to read buy tbh, it takes a whole lot of discipline otherwise most leave it till NYSC.

Nigerians are a funny lot. We always canonise people after death but we don't call out or condemn those who are playing the game while alive. At least 75% of our poplar musicians including Wiz, David, Burna, Olamide are in a cult group or the other, we wouldn't call them out now, but when they're caught up in the cross fire of turf wars, we start our emotional knee-jerk reaction.
If you live by the sword, you die by the sword, just another day at the office since our mainstream artistes want to model themselves after black Americans & their gangsterism.

I remember while as a house officer almost a decade ago, I did 48hrs on-call in Paediatric surgery. Never looked forward to those on-call days cos they were brutal. Nearly half the on-call would be in theatre, on your feet or chasing results and blood transfusion. Registrars then were on 72hr on-call.
Now as a consultant in Uk, I work 3 days a week.
He may not have been on call for 72hrs but hospitals need to look after the welfare of their employees.

"I am a Nigerian student living in Scotland, A Nigerian Christian guy got in touch with me via WhatsApp and asked for a relationship, saying he got my number off a church whatsapp group that I haven't been to for almost a year now. He said he's prayed about me and God has told him we are good to go. He is a student too.

I have been in relationship where I cooked, I personally enjoy cooking, but I have never been with a man that feels to entitled to me doing that for him. He says I'm supposed to be the one cooking for him. He also believes in women abroad sharing bills, but he is too traditional to share house chores"

I know this is copied but I wonder where girls see these kinda guys.
As a single guy in this same uk with my settled status and everything going well for me, I don't expect or demand anyone's daughter to do any chore for me. Like seriously, if she were my sister i wouldn't expect her to put up with such a guy one day. The lady must have a low self esteem or is just frustrated at being single. I know being single in UK is a challenge esp with winter coming. Everyone wants to buddyup.

Money Money Money, I can tell you this for free, it's the number 1 reason marriages crash. The cultural change of our women having to foot bills is something they can't gey their head around. It's a death knell to expect a man to foot all the bills abroad.
Another thing from my experience is randy men. Men are used to playing away match and carrying it 2/0, here sex is cheap as chips but she will know, cos its a small community.

Not a direct comparison to Nigeria but my gripe is they have such a superlative idea of their capabilities when in truth they're not up there. Proper football winners like USWNT, Brazil, France & Spain don't make as much noise. Sometimes e good to dey give small respect to the opponent. How England were so cocky against Nigeria before and after the match despite playing f#ckall was not a good look

If NFF were serious people and prepared and supported our team and manager better, 9ja for load England that day.

💯 💯.

The joy I have that England lost, no one would understand. I would have called in sick tomorrow cos my colleagues would just be capping nonsense. I get irritated whenever English football teams are playing cos they get so hyped you would think they should win by default. My friends keep saying "why did you accept the UK passport if you don't like them", my answer is always "I earned it, I was not given".
The height of it all was after Lauren James stepped on our girl and they were justifying it like it was a mistake. Since then I just get disgusted. Jehova no dey shame us..

@fryx, thats an enamel stain. You can either use home whitening kits or see a dentist for stain removal. They'd likely do scaling and polishing or prescribe you a whitening kit depending on the depth of the stain.
I don't know how regulated the over the counter home whitening kits are in naija so may be better to see a dentist to be safe.

The Nigerian economy doesn't follow any economic metric. High inflation with very little money in circulation and a devalued naira. Yet FG wants to mop up naira by issuing savings bonds. Its a funny case grin
Though intrest rate is low, I'm actually considering investing as the returns is at least 5 times the rate I'd get if I invested in UK bonds. And that's even adjusting for further devaluation of the naira.
Essentially, nothing to lose.

Very well so, which I addressed in my follow on statement.
Ironically same chapter mentions the hair as a woman's glory, if today's culture believes in women emancipation, why subject them to the now dated principle of hair covering?
Religion / Re: Modernization In The Church! I Felt Odd by tremilatre(m): 12:03pm On Jul 02, 2023
Unpopular opinion but as far as I am concerned, the church of today is a social gathering, subject to cultures and traditions.
The doctrine on hair cover was a letter to the Corinthian Church who had their own culture (just same way Paul wrote specific letters to the Philipian, Ephesian, Galatian & Thessalonian churches). It may not be applicable in its entirety to The African Church or The European Church with diverse cultures. Its good for edification but not to be followed in a dogmatic manner.

I had this conversation with a friend and I can't say it any louder, subsidy removal is the biggest shortchanged the Nigerian masses have endured. And to think we took it lying down is really baffling.
What then is our benefit as Nigerians being an oil producing state? The arguement that it benefits cabals or neighbouring countries is really dumb cos I wonder why we can't plug these holes.
In UK, we have several subsidies: Energy subsidy through the winter, council tax holidays, help to buy scheme for mortgage, furlough scheme among others, same with other western nations, yet we allow IMF to dictate how we run our economy. The thing really vex me cos all my folks in naija are really having it rough
