Pastor Adeboye of the Redeemed
Christian Church of God, says Anthony
Joshua has helped him remind the
world that pounded yam is better than
rice and Eba is better than Indomie, He
said Joshua 's victory is as a result of
hard work

According to him "that's why I

Nigerian President Muhammadu
Buhari’s wife has sought to play down
fears about his health, as he faces
calls to go on extended medical leave.
Aisha Buhari said the head of state’s
health was not as bad as it was being
perceived, without specifying the
nature of his illness.
“He continues to carry out his
responsibilities during this period,” she
wrote on her Twitter account on
Tuesday evening.
Buhari, 74, has been under growing
pressure to disclose his state of health
since returning from London in early
March after nearly two months away. http://www.trendsng.com/2017/05/aisha-buhari-tweet-about-husband-health.html?m=1 |
Minister Information and Culture,
Lai Mohammed, on Tuesday pleaded
with the founder of Synagogue Church
of All Nations (SCOAN), Pastor
Temitope Balogun Joshua (T.B.
Joshua) to reconsider his decision to
relocate from Nigeria, The Nation
reports.
According to Mohammed, Joshua’s
decision was not the best for the
country.
At his church service on Sunday, April
30, Pastor Joshua said he was leaving
Nigeria because of the persecution the
ministry was facing
in Nigeria.
He said, “This is the most persecuted
ministry in the world. Who are the
people persecuting the ministry? My
people, Africa.
“That is why I choose to live a lonely
life. If you want to see me, come to
this church. I don’t go out. It has not
been easy – because I don’t know
who is a friend or who is an enemy. If
you learn T.B. Joshua is not around, I
am in a revival. I live in the church
here. I don’t have a house outside.
“What happened to me from the
beginning of my ministry is enough to
chase me out of this country. But I am
still in your midst. Upon the
persecution and hatred, I decided to
follow the path of love. You show
hatred; I show love.
When I go for a revival, you will see
the stadium full but I am not carried
away by that. I leave where I’m
celebrated to live where I’m
persecuted.”
The minister in a chat with journalists
during the Annual General Meeting
(AGM) of the Nigerian Association of
Tour Operators (NATOP), held in Ikeja,
Lagos, described Joshua’s decision as
unfortunate.
Mohammed called for dialogue
between the pastor and the authorities
over whatever challenges he was
facing.
He said, “That will be very unfortunate
in the sense that if he does move out,
it will affect our tourism in Nigeria.
Pastor Joshua is an important person,
he must bear with us. This is his
country.
If he moves out and go to South Africa
(for example), the revenue will go to
South Africa. It is better that Pastor
Joshua sits down with the relevant
authority and resolve whatever
problem he has. If I have access to
him this is exactly what I am going to
tell him.”

Most Nigeria workers Today will be somewhere with hardly any smile on their faces as the last time most of them received their pay was 12 to 15 months ago, those that received theirs, that is those in the private sector can hardly use their pay to provide for their daily needs. Then what's the need for the celebration? Some states like Kogi, Osun and the likes should not expect any form of March parade from the workers. Who will march on an empty stomach? Who will sing with an angry voice? Who put on a happy face when there is no money? Most worker will rather sleep at the comfort of their homes and rest for the 24 hours before resuming to the land of hard labour. There are no longer job securities in Nigeria as workers are being retrenched on a daily basis, then where is the joy in Workers day celebration when you know anything can happen the next working day? There is also high unemployment rate as Graduates and Skill workers have no place to stay and the Government have tried so much to shelve it responsibilities as it as tried to make citizens see Entrepreneurship as the way, How do one become successful in Entrepreneurship without a past management experience? Today, May Day should be "Nigeria Workers Mayday" that is Nigeria workers in help, it is an emergency. source http://www.trendsng.com/2017/05/may-day-in-nigeria-workers-need-help.html?m=1 |

Donald Trump share his experience as US president in an interview with Reuters. He disclose some fact about the presidency and other relevant matters. On the presidency Trump said “I loved my previous life. I had so many things going. This is more work than in my previous life. I thought it would be easier. You’re really into your own little cocoon, because you have such massive protection that you really can’t go anywhere. I like to drive. I can’t drive any more.” On Kim Jong-un He said “He’s 27 years old, his father dies, took over a regime, so say what you want but that’s not easy, especially at that age. You know you have plenty of generals in there and plenty of other people that would like to do what he’s doing. So I’ve said this before and I’ve, I’m just telling you, and I’m not giving him credit or not giving him credit. I’m just saying that’s a very hard thing to do. As to whether or not he’s rational, I have no opinion on it. I hope he’s rational.” On Chinese president Xi and North Korea “He certainly doesn’t want to see turmoil and death. He doesn’t want to see it. He’s a good man. He’s a very good man and I got to know him very well ... We’ll see how it all works out. I know he would like to be able to do something. The Federal Ministry of Finance said that it had not hired any Public Relations foreign firm for 2 million dollars (N612 million) per month. DAILY POST gathered that the decision is causing controversy among staff of the ministry. A British firm was said to have been hired to manage the image of the Minister, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, and the ministry’s offshore relations with global investors. Workers in the ministry had leaked the alleged contract, wondering why the Federal Government hired a foreign PR firm and paid in hard currency, for au job Nigerian PR experts could effectively execute. In a statement on Wednesday, Director of Information, Ministry of Finance, Salisu Dambatta, confirmed that a PR consultant was hired by the Federal Government, as part of the Eurobond programme. He however did not disclose the actual figure the Ministry pays the firm monthly. “The Public Relations firm, Africa Practice, has been retained by the Federal Government on the approval of the Federal Executive Council to work with the Debt Management Office as part of the Eurobond programme for a three-year period alongside four other firms. “This followed a competitive tender that was advertised and due process was fully followed and was publicly announced earlier this year. “The representative of Africa Practice was in Washington DC in continuation of the Eurobond programme and in support of the country’s outreach with international investors who showed great enthusiasm to do business with Nigeria. “However, the false reports have not dimmed the successful participation of the Nigerian delegation in the World Bank and IMF Spring meetings, nor questioned the obvious gains made by Nigeria in the course of the meetings,” he said. At the just concluded IMF/World Bank Spring meetings in Washington DC, the consultant shielded Adeosun from Nigerian journalists but allowed access foreign press access to the Minister.. source http://www.trendsng.com/2017/04/ministry-of-finance-denies-paying.html?m=1 |
Despite the reviews and feedback from music critics which hasn’t been favourable for the just concluded Big Brother Naija Winner Efe Ejeba, he still says music is all he’s interested in pursuing. Speaking recently on a radio show on Soundcity FM, Efe said, “It is music” and nothing else. When asked for the reason behind his conviction, he said: “Because that is what I was doing before the house and I have been doing it for the past seven years.” He continued: “I was doing it because it is what I love to do. I went to school because it was obligatory. It was a societal obligation that you need to go to school. “But that was not what was in my mind. Music has been in my mind. I did it from my 100 level to 400 level.” Efe added that he came to Lagos to pursue a career in music “immediately” after his final examination in the university. source http://www.trendsng.com/2017/04/despite-negative-review-efe-ejeba.html?m=1 lalasticlala |
The Question posted by Nigeria Comedian, Basket Mouth has got me thinking. Apart from celebrities most Nigerians who are live on Social Media live a fake life showcasing fake and expensive lifestyle. Back in the days when I was new to social media, I saw a friend of mine who posted a picture of him living large and I couldn't help but envy him, I had to message him to show me the way at least "make I stop soaking garri with groundnuts." Only for him to reply me o, telling me everything was just packaging and to attract "chicks" since then I stopped believing those pictures of splendor living on social media. If its true God help you, if not, none of my problem. People who live fake life on social media do so to get their inferiority complex feel superior, people who really got it don't flaunt it,it is people that don't who post pictures tirelessly. source http://www.trendsng.com/2017/04/why-do-we-live-fake-life-on-social-media.html?m=1 lalasticlala |
Multiple award-winning Nigerian singer and mother of one, Tiwa Savage, has said that the desire for glamour and appeal is the reason entertainers cannot stop being sexual in their performances. She said this while addressing some pressing issues in the Nigerian music industry as a guest on an entertainment show hosted by Arise Television, which was monitored by DAILYPOST. According to her, entertainers cannot be stopped from adapting sexual scenes in their stage-craft but can be regulated through appropriate guidelines provided by a competent body or authority. She, however, disclosed that contemporary musicians were misunderstood in a similar way the late Afrobeat King, Fela’s dancers were misunderstood because of their sexual displays on stage. Savage said: “There is no way a movie and entertainment will not have sexual scenes. You cannot stop an artiste from being sexual in entertainment “The only thing we can do as Africans is to provide guidelines. “When I performed initially in Nigeria, they screamed that it was too much; that it was too sexual. We are still fighting the same battle the Fela girls fought. “Fela’s girls were misunderstood. What they did on stage was just entertainment. “What they do on stage doesn’t mean that they are loose off stage. People say Fela is godfather but people forget the women that added glamour to Fela’s show.” source- http://www.trendsng.com/2017/04/tiwa-savage-why-we-can-stop-being.html?m=1 |

The latest job in Nigeria created by the
Federal Government is the Whistle
Blowing Job and the way this job is
going if not impeded it can grow to
become one of largest employer of
labour.
(As I am I already thinking of branding
the job)
Whistle blowing is one of the jobs that
can make one rich overnight if it yield
the expected result.
Part of the benefits of a whistle
Blowing job are:
1. You work as a freelance- yes,this
what everyone is dreaming of having
in the world of today as you get to
work at your own pace. The job is so
easy as all you have to do is to seat at
one location in Nigeria and send
details about your new found secret of
stolen fund to the adequate quarters. 2. The identity of the whistle blower is kept secret: this is the part I love in this job, the identity of the whistle blower is kept anonymous and if followed truly by the government such person is saved from future harassment. 3. Easy way to make cool money without stress as all it entails is to "blow your whistle" when you see someone swallowing our money or pouring it into his soak away. Above all,as a whistle blower you are expected to reveal the truth and not just seat down somewhere and cook up stories. source http://www.trendsng.com/2017/04/benefits-of-whistle-blowing-job.html?m=1 |
US Northern Command (NORTHCOM) has confirmed the interception of two Russian TU-95 bombers off the coast of Alaska on Monday evening. According to a US official, the bombers were found 100 nautical miles south of Kodiak Island. The Russian aircraft were in international airspace throughout the encounter as American airspace extends 12 nautical miles from the US shoreline. However, NORTHCOM confirmed to ABC News that the Russian planes were in the US Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), which stretches 200 miles out from shore. An Air Defense Identification Zone is airspace that is monitored in the interest of national security where aircraft are required to identify themselves. Two F-22 fighter jets and one E-3 Sentry reconnaissance plane from Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska intercepted the Russian bombers for a short time, and then flew alongside the bombers as they turned away from the ADIZ, the official said. This is the first time that Russian aircraft have approached North America in some time. The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has no records of intercepts of Russian aircraft in all of 2016, and the previous intercept dates all the way back to the summer of 2015. source- http://www.trendsng.com/2017/04/two-russian-bombers-caught-in-us.html?m=1 |

The Federal Government through the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed on Sunday disclosed that anti-graft agencies have gotten information about how looters were burying stolen funds in forests and burial grounds. Mohammed said the whistleblower policy had led to the recovery of stolen funds in different currencies. In a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Mr Segun Adeyemi, the minister assures Nigerians that the recovered loots were save with the government. “Since we launched the whistle blower policy, we have received immeasurable support from Nigerians. “Yes, there is monetary reward for any information that leads to recovery of looted funds, but from what we have seen, most of the Nigerians who have come forward with useful leads were driven by patriotism rather than reward. ”Nigerians, fired by a fervid resolve to help banish corruption from their country, have daily inundated the offices of the appropriate government agencies with valuable information. “We have been told how looters have resorted to burying stolen funds in their backyards, in deep forests and even in burial grounds. ”Thanks to whistle-blowers, it is now clear that a rapacious few have pillaged the nation’s wealth through a vicious orgy of corrupt practices,” he said. The minister, however, noted that more funds were in the possession of looters than were available to government at all levels. He added that the government will not abolish the whistleblower policy for any reason. He also said the government will soon give account of all loots recovered. source- http://www.trendsng.com/2017/04/fg-looters-are-burying-stolen-fund-in.html?m=1 |
This is indeed an extreme religious act, in the wake of Easter, some strange acts have been going down in Philippines where there have been whipping people backs to a bloody state and nailing them to crosses, this was done by devotees in the fervently Catholic Philippines to marked Good Friday with extreme acts of faith that have become tourist attractions. In towns north of Manila at least five people were nailed to crosses, while in an island to the south hundreds of residents dressed up as Roman centurions as part of decades-old traditions in the Southeast Asian nation. These customs flourish, although they are not officially endorsed by church leadership. In the island of Marinduque, about 150 kilometres (100 miles) south of the capital, residents in centurion outfits and heavy wooden masks, played at hunting down a renegade Roman soldier called St. Longinus. Legends say Longinus thrust his spear through the side of the crucified Christ. Christ's blood spurted on his face, healing the centurion's blindness and convincing him to change sides. The climax of the week-long drama is on Saturday when the centurions capture Longinus and dramatically "behead" him. Organiser Raymond Nepomuceno said they were now encouraging children to take part even if they used lighter plastic or fibreglass masks. source- http://www.trendsng.com/2017/04/extreme-religious-act-in-philippines-as.html?m=1 |

Half an hour before we went on air for the late edition of #theTrend last Friday, my long-suffering producer, Kevin Gitau, received a text message that Nigerian guest Timaya had cancelled his appearance on this peasant’s show. Never mind that we had a contract with the organisers of BBQ Live, where he would be performing the next day. “Nothing of value was lost,” I later remarked on air while explaining why he wouldn’t be showing up. I wasn’t just being savage because of sour grapes, I honestly didn’t know who Timaya was. The always entertaining Kenyan group, The Kansoul, even teased me about it on the show just a fortnight ago. So when I heard that someone I neither knew nor cared about couldn’t be bothered to honour a contract and show up to promote his concert, I felt no sense of loss or disappointment. It wasn’t the first time a guest had changed their mind about coming on the show at the last minute. It wasn’t even the first time a Nigerian guest had confirmed that they would come in for an interview, only to drop out at the eleventh hour. It comes with the territory and we’ve learnt to quickly reorganise the broadcast when that happens because we are live and the show must go on. There was the time Flavour ran into trouble with Immigration on his arrival in the country and threw a great big fit. Gospel singer Sinach apparently refused to leave her room when it was time to head out to Nation Centre and she couldn’t be convinced otherwise. Meh, I always respond when I hear of these tantrums and promptly move on. To be fair, it’s not just Nigerian stars who do this but they are more temperamental than any other nationality we have dealt with over the years. The stories of the divas and prima donnas with pidgin accents my team have could fill a book. Days before Timaya’s non-event, there was Burna Boy’s objectively underwhelming performance at a club in Westlands. Fans complained that they had to wait until 4am, only for the Nigerian artiste to give a lacklustre show. The morning after, Twitter was ungovernable as Kenyans called him out and some demanded back the Sh1,500 they had paid as gate charges. He was abusive and immature and blocked anybody whose tweets he didn’t appreciate. “Do not stoop to the level of replying some peasants (sic)…plenty talk no dey full basket,” one of his countrymen tweeted him. “I’m bored (expletive) here + I couldn’t find a flight out this morning. So these ‘peasants’ are my entertainment till I dip,” he responded. source- http://www.trendsng.com/2017/04/why-do-we-love-nigerian-artistes.html?m=1 |
American rapper Lil Wayne says he has joined the Jay-Z-owned Roc Nation music label. He revealed this During a show at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, the rapper told the crowd that he’s now a member of Roc Nation. “Is it cool if I just say it? It’s the Roc you know I am a member of that team now,” Wayne said. Subsequently, Wayne put up the Roc Nation’s diamond hand sign before delving into a performance of classic club banger, ‘Lollipop’. Wayne has been a member of Young Money Cash Money Billionaires (YMCMB) label throughout his career. But his recent rift with label boss and father figure, Birdman, over the rights to his Carter series has ignited speculation that he may want out of YMCMB. The rapper has been enmeshed in a legal tussle with Birdman since 2014 and reportedly sued him for a whopping $51 million. While performing at the Camp Flog Gnaw Festival in November 2016, Wayne shouted out “The Roc” – an action that led many to assume he had joined Jay-Z’s label. Again in January, the rapper dropped another hint at a show in Miami. “When you see me, it’s YMROC,” Wayne said. There is always this urge to have a male or female lover especially if you move with friends who are deeply rooted in it, peer pressure would set in as you wouldn't want to be the odd one. I have come to understand that most students go into relationship for various reasons. 1. For Sexual pleasure: This is universal as it encompasses the students world but some students still go into relationship to satisfy their libido, to quench that sexual pleasure. 2. For Food: this mostly apply to male students, once they see a female student, they see a potential cook, their own is to eat and clean mouth, they always have this belief that females are always well stocked with food. 3. For Money: this applies mostly to the female students, once they see a dude with cash they will make sure they use rope to tie the relationship down. This is one of the reason most male students have turn to cybercrime as the only way out. 4. For companionship: this is quite rare as only few students aim for this. source http://www.trendsng.com/2017/04/things-i-have-come-to-understand-about.html?m=1 |
Burundi an african country is going through alot of crisis after it election in 2015. Burundi's ruling party on Wednesday released a statement distancing itself from a viral video showing members of its feared youth wing threatening to impregnate opposition women. Hundreds of the youths known as Imbonerakure meaning "those who see from afar" (in the local Kirundi language) are shown in military-like formation singing "impregnate the opposition so that they give birth to Imbonerakure". The ruling CNND-FDD initially said the video which began circulating three days ago had been faked by the opposition, but was on Wednesday forced to admit its authenticity after it sparked outrage on social media networks. "A video has been circulating on social media showing youths gathering in Ntega in Kirundo province. Unfortunately some youths sang a song which is not consistent with the morals or ideology of the CNDD-FDD," the party's communication chief Nancy- Ninette Mutoni said in a statement. Visitors to America would have to hand over social media passwords as well as mobile phone contacts – and even financial details – under ‘extreme vetting’ procedures. The move could affect not only countries in North Africa and the Middle East, but also allies of America (such as Britain), according to the Wall Street Journal. The changes which would affect millions of travellers could make it harder to get American visas with more interviews and more questions. Applicants might be asked about their feelings about honour killings – and about ‘the sanctity of life’, a phrase used by American Christians in abortion debates, according to The Times. Some applicants might be asked to hand over their phone contacts and passwords for social media accounts such as Facebook. source - http://www.trendsng.com/2017/04/visitors-to-submit-facebook-password.html?m=1 |

Guess most people who love to played "you are beautiful" on their wedding day are in for a shock, as the song writer and singer James Blunt has come out to give the actual interpretation of his song which many thought was romantic. He said, ‘Everyone goes “Ah, he’s so romantic. I want You’re Beautiful as my wedding song.” These people are f****d up. ‘You get labeled with these things like, “Oh, James Blunt. Isn’t he just a soft romantic?” Well, f**k that. No I’m not. ‘You’re Beautiful is not this soft romantic f*****g song. It’s about a guy who’s high as a f*****g kite on drugs in the subway stalking someone else’s girlfriend when that guy is there in front of him, and he should be locked up or put in prison for being some kind of perv.’ Probably not what his fans were wanting to hear. James just released a hopefully a new album called The Afterlove and has worked with his mate Ed Sheeran and OneRepublic front man Ryan Tedder on the record. source - http://www.trendsng.com/2017/03/james-blunt-reveals-actual-meaning-of.html?m=1 |
