Have a detailed look at your credit report. It'll tell you what accounts you're signed up to and where soft/hard checks have been done.
Thanks, I’ll do this

You need to do that fast, i think you should visit the council and explain this to them and get the record off your profile
I can’t visit the council as I’m no longer in the area but I’ll give them a call today

If you are a student or your partner is a student, let them know you are not liable in tbe first instance.
I was a student up until April 2024. The issue is he’s using my details to open bills account. As of last year I was chased by credit company for water bill, he later paid that one by direct debit on my account cos the water agency said it’s in my name and without a contract I couldn’t prove anything. I don’t want to let this one slide because I can’t tell where else he’s used my details.

Pls I need advise on steps to take. When I moved to the Uk, I couldn’t find a house. There was a guy who said he had an air bnb to let for a short while and I paid him for the flat for the week I was meant to stay. Unable to find an house for my family, we spoke with him to let us stay pending we get suitable accommodation. He said he will speak to the landlord and get back to us. He did speak to the “landlord” and we started paying monthly for the room. It was a 2bed flat and we stayed in a room, another couple stayed in the other. We were all paying monthly. For proof of address, he said the landlord agreed to put my name on the electric bill as it’s prepaid but the landlord pays the council tax and water bill. Now I left the room since September 2023, I got home now and I saw a final notice letter for unpaid council tax from May 2023-September 2024.

How do I rectify this? I’m thinking of calling the council to let them know I didn’t register for council tax and it was done fraudulently cos I remember this guy did ask for my term letter but when I asked what for he didn’t say the reason. I’m suspecting he registered my details but didn’t put my phone number or email so I wouldn’t know. I’ve received no notifications of any sort. This letter came to my new address in England and this whole situation happened in Swansea.

Yes I am...

For dependants, the salary threshold will not bad enough for sponsorship. Even the £38700, when it comes to DWP, it is about £42k cos they calculate the pay for 42hrs a week instead of 37hrs a week
Ok, thanks.

Paxziano:
No they don't. Even for EO grade it's only if you work in inner London that they would sponsor. If you are national or outer London, no sponsorship.

P.s: This is for fresh graduates only
Thanks for the response. Are you saying this applies to fresh graduates only (ie people on PSW)?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Trendytessy(f): 9:54pm On Jan 18, 2025
Hello, pls I’d like to know if DWP offers visa sponsorship for AO grade? I see it’s listed on the skilled worker list but would appreciate response from experienced people or someone that works with the department

I lived in Worcester for almost 10 years. It used to be a small backwater city. It's cheap university and proximity to Birmingham has seen it balloon in population. It's still a relatively quiet and lovely city. Everything still shuts down between after 7pm so nothing has changed in that respect!
It also has a mainline station. There are lots of Nigerians there and I hear they have a Nigerian association as well.
Schools are good if you have children too.
Cost of living is same as everywhere else - I was shocked looking at rentals. I should have bought a house there! Can't speak for jobs but when I lived there, I worked in Birmingham and commuted so you have access to the 2nd largest city in the UK
Thank you for this! It’s helpful!

Is it possible to apply for new visa to vary a processing one with the current student visa/BRP expired? I’ve been trying to apply for skilled worker visa but the UK ID app keeps saying wrong document and has locked me out of the app for 24hrs (I’m using BRP and same thing happened again today).

Is there another way to apply without using the app and can I apply with my BRP expired. It expired today.
Any responses will be appreciated. Experienced folks pls help

Yes you read it right. Not sure if you are relying on the refund but even if you withdraw (which I wouldn't advise due to expiry on 29th), refund would take up to 28 days.

Graduate visas usually take up to 8 weeks for a decision so will suggest you vary your application as soon as you can and hopefully will get a refund as stated on the guidance.

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/vary-your-immigration-application
Thanks.. I’ll apply for the skilled visa and vary it letting them know I have one in process

Hi everyone,

I already applied for a dépendant graduate visa and yet to receive a decision. I currently have a COS for skilled work visa. can I vary the application or I have to withdraw the previous one that hasn’t been decided yet (2weeks now)? Student visa expires 29th and COS just came in today.

I read on uk website that one can vary but will need to pay the new fees and then get a refund.

Also can I apply with WAEC/proof of English as English ability or it’s compulsory to use the ecctis website to evaluate degree from Nigeria?

Any advice is welcomed!

Hello

You are on track

The second question after selecting No 3 narrows it down to know which parent or guardian it is before the declaration.

That's the purpose of the disclosure

Cheers
Thank you!

There’s a consent form you download when you fill a child dependent application on behalf of the child. You’re to download, sign and submit with the application.
Must both parents sign or my signature alone is okay? Sorry for the many questions

You sign the part one and part 3. Only sign part 2 if you have a document that requires joint signature.
I intend to sign on a consent letter I typed and will upload. Is that the part 2 you are referring to?

Yes you are.
So I should input my details again at the third party declaration? Thanks for your time.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 8 by Trendytessy(f): 12:27am On Dec 06, 2022
Please while filling the Child visa application (5 years old). What option do I pick for the declaration;

1. I am the applicant aged 18 or over
2. I am the applicant aged under 18
3. I am the parent or legal guardian of the applicant who is aged under 18 and completing and submitting the form on their behalf
4. I am submitting the form on behalf of the applicant

I chose 3 but it keeps asking for a relationship to MA (which is me), then third-party declaration again. I just want to be sure I'm on the right track. Thanks.
