No fewer than 1,119 delegates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) will take part in the party’s primary election to produce its gubernatorial candidate for the Nov.18 election in Anambra. Chairman of the party, Dr Victor Oye, made this known at a news conference in Awka on Monday and said that the primaries would hold on Tuesday in Awka.
Oye said the delegates were made up of 150 statutory and 969 elected from the 326 wards in the state. He said that the election would be in the mode of ‘yes or no’ as only Gov. Willie Obiano purchased the form and met all the criteria. He said that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Police and other agencies had been informed and would be part of the process. Oye said that there was no controversy over the leadership of the party as he remained the authentic chairman with the full legitimacy to produce APGA’s candidate for the election.

Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Steve Ayorinde, ​has advised fathers ​to allow their babies ​enjoy the period of breastfeeding.
​He said this in a message to ​a Breastfeeding Awareness Campaign organised by ​the Lagos ​c​hapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ)​.

The commissioner, represented by Mrs Toro Oladapo, a former NAWOJ President and Director, Public Affairs, Lagos Ministry of Information, ​said fathers should stop competing for breasts with their babies.
He ​stated that ​rather, men should ​encourage the​ir wives to engage in exclusive breastfeeding which is vital during the first six months of life.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has alleged that the leaders of the apex Igbo organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, were behind the gunman attack on worshippers in St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu in Anambra state.
He made the allegations while addressing IPOB members who paid him a visit at his Umuahia residence yesterday.
According to him, Ohanaeze leadership allegedly accepted financial inducement from anti-Biafra individuals and organization to divide the opinions of South-easterners through various media statements so that terror could be unleashed on the people already divided in thoughts.
He further dismissed the reports that claim the shooting was a product of on-going feud between two overseas-based drug barons of Igbo origin.

arlier on today, we brought you a story about Happiness who was killed by her lover, Victor Umeh after a birthday party he had organized for her.
Victor had allegedly killed Happiness because he saw her talking to her ex-boyfriend at the party.
It has emerged that the lover boy, Victor, is a 45-year-old father of five, pictured above.
Incident occurred on Happiness’ birthday—July 28. Vanguard reports she visited her lover’s home at 5/7 Michael Osisipi Street, off Banjo Oyewele Street, Ago Palace Way, from where they went to a club around the area to celebrate her birthday.
Trouble, as gathered, started after the suspect, Victor Umeh, sighted Happiness discussing with a man, discovered to be her former boyfriend.
The discussion, according to Umeh, a trader at Ladipo Market, lasted over 15 minutes. He reportedly left the club in anger, leaving the deceased behind. Time was 12.45a.m.
On realising that Umeh had left, Happiness went to his house, where an argument that degenerated into a fight ensued. Her shout for help alerted neighbours, including a gateman, identified simply as Adamu.
On reaching Umeh’s flat, he was reportedly seen trying to hide a substance, which turned out to be late Happiness’ mobile telephone. The curious neighbours were said to have searched the flat for the victim, only to discover her lifeless body behin

A 29-year old lady, Mary Johnson has landed in prison after she allegedly stole a lady’s hand bag containing condoms which she mistakenly thought was money at a night club.
She was charged before a Lagos court and was remanded in prison custody.
The incident happened at Diamond Club located at Allen Avenue in Ikeja, Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the victim Florence Ahokpa kept her hand bag and was engaged in discussion with an undisclosed person when the suspect reportedly went and carried her bag. After the discussion, she came back to carry her bag but discovered that her bag was missing.
She raised alarm immediately, by which time the suspect was hurriedly attempting to leave the club house with the bag.
The club security men on duty however apprehended her, the bag was recovered from her and handed over to the owner.
It was eventually discovered that the stolen bag contained condoms which the owner probably needed that night, her Infinix android phones and other personal effects.
She was handed over to the police for prosecution. When she was arraigned at the Ikeja Magistrates court, she pleaded not guilty.

A social media user, Nzeh Nneji, has narrated how his employee was left with severe injuries after a vigilante group in Onitsha, Anambra State accused him of being a MASSOB boy.

According to Nzeh, the incident happened at Bata Brothers New Market Road by Venn Road in Anambra State. Here’s his story;
“On 12th of July, we were coming back from office,all a sudden there was a traffic before i could realize what was going on, the occupant of cars in front of mine left there car running for safety,me,MY WIFE and MY boy left our car for safety.ah i thought IT was the usual onitsha hoodlums trying to steal again, but this time IT wasnt the innocent misinterpreted people,rather they were the massob boys breaking bottles along bata brothers new market road by venn road.
When the situation was arrested,i waited for MY boy to come so that we can go but he is no where to BE found, I called his number, he was crying that I should come and rescue him that they want to kill him(vigilante) When I got there ,MY boy have been beating and one of the vigilante used a bottle and stabbed him on his head.
I rushed him to estate hospital where he was treated and immediately we were done with the stitches they came back and took him away to CPS onitsha, saying he is one of the massob members. when I got to the station,the dpo said I should take MY boy home and come back the next morning to see him.
This boy have only stayed a year with me and I have spent much on this but the dpo have been begging me not to press further,
please MY people,what should I DO,I need the human Right to intervene on this because that BEAST might someday kill innocent soul”
