Before I reply to your post, I'd advise you to be careful of not fall into trap of committing an appeal to authority fallacy. Even if the majority of philosophers posit that money is useless, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's true.

Aristotle, Karl Marx and Nietzsche to name a few recognized the value of money and even encouraged making money. It comes down to what I posted like 2-3 days ago on this money debate: people derive their joy and happiness from different things. Happiness is subjective. Funny as it sounds, some people love the lowly, inexpensive lifestyle (don't mistake this for being totally poor). Others value immense wealth because it will help solve majority of their problems and make them "happy". I happen to lean closer to the former for personal reasons (some of the more materialist people might call me weird but in my life I've always been an outlier with the most eccentric views).

Strange as it sounds, not everyone sees money as something that gives them fulfilment. Look up another philosopher called Henry David Thoreau. He didn't see money as the sole or most important cause of happiness. He greatly valued a more basic lifestyle, living closer to nature.

Again, this is no excuse not to put in the work and make money. The message here is: do what feels best for you! If you truly and honestly believe that money isn't your cup of tea, then go ahead and live your life the way you want. What is not acceptable is trying to taint people who are crazy rich as inferior or morally bankrupt compared to poor people.

You need to look inward and decide what you really need. Is too much money really unnecessary for you? Or are you just subconsciously bitter at the more rich people in society.

Different strokes for different folks basically.

Rich people have problems Peculiar to them too. For example a poor man has an issue of what to eat. A rich man cannot have that issue. A lot of people would love to be like Elon musk but when I looked at him he has some problems too. Let's all try to make a lot of money. Problems in this life are never going to end but having a good amount of money will surely cut off some of those problems.

Question abeg, why is it some great philosophers and scientists preferred to remain poor despite wealth being the most important? Who can explain this? I read about Diogenes and even when wealthy Greek citizens gave him huge sums of money he refused. Not supporting being poor but I want philosophical people to answer.
