Hi, I had this dilemma sometime in the past and decided to find out in advance and this was what I got from the horse’s mouth
1) you don’t need a new visa
2)you’re good. The validity of your visa is the time frame you can appear at POE and request for entry. Entry can be granted, though at CBSA officers discretion, for up to six months even beyond your visa validity.

Thanks for this detailed explanation. It’s really informative

Hello please help:
My valid visa will expire in 2 months time(September) same time with my passport.
I want to travel this month so l renewed my passport,
1. Hope the new passport will be stamped while the visa is on the old passport or do l need another visa?
2. I am returning in August before the visa expires, hope there won’t be problem at the Poe?
Thank you.

VO : How many kids do you have .hubby and l 1
VO:Ok the baby with you .dh ; lifted her up cos she was standing on the floor and she waved at her to say hi and in return my daughter responded
VO: Do you intend using this visa for medical

Hello all. I had previously posted my ordeal under this link-https://www.nairaland.com/2103860/canada-visit-tourist-visa-discussion/161#60732796
I thank God almighty for knowledge, wisdom in handling this case.To Him be all the glory. I remembered receiving unsolicited and unwarranted response from @kirikiri100 after my post. Despite the rantings by @Kirikiri100 whose behaviour clearly depicts his name, i was undetered.
I thank @Devaughn and @tripplebabygirl who made positive contributions. Am here to encourage people particularly, someone who had posted a case similar to mine sometime ago on this thread.
After my post here, i had put up a letter and sent it to the embassy in lagos, Accra and Abuja. I was informed that my application was handled in Lagos. After about a week, i got a call from the embassy stating that they have reviewed my letter, application and couldnt understand why visas were not affixed on my passport and that of my son. I was asked to bring my passport to the embassy. This i have done and 2yrs visas were issued to Us.Thanks for all the encouragement guys. People need to study the rules, procedures and guidelines on the cic website as i used that too in supporting my letter. In all, it was God.
Congratulations passionup. Do enjoy your vacation with your family

Too much of documents can cause confusion, are you applying visa to heaven? This is too much.

Your response is the same as your name.

I appreciate everyone here. I.have learnt a lot and this has guided my application. Applied with my family on 7th July and on 20th Sept, i got a mail to pick up our passports.
Upon receipt of our passports,my people, this is the situation i found myself. I applied for a TRV with my wife and son but shockingly, myself and my son were denied while my wife was granted 2yrs. Interestingly, there was no letter stating the grounds for my refusal likewise that of my son(4 yrs old). This is curious and shocking? Doesn’t this look like an error because every denial must come with a letter stating the basis of refusal. Mine nor my son did not come back with any letter. It was just my passport and my receipt. Note that I was the principal applicant and all funds were in my account. My wife didn’t even submit her bank statement or pay slips. My people, kindly analyse this and advise on the way forward.Who can explain this to me as I can’t phantom the reasoning behind the action of Canadian High Commission. What next can i do?

@ passionup: this is surprising, you can copy and paste your experience again for the gurus like Jawa, justwise, awelekiti and others to read and advise your better on what to do.
I don't see anything wrong in all the documents you submitted. They are necessary and on point. I don't believe too much of docs can cause your denial either.

Yeah! A very good morning to you.... I'm yet to differentiate between you both though. Jawa seems to be a much more humane side (probably the reason he hasn't come under fire) of you but got lots of similarities with you. Either ways, whether you are one and the same or not, you are both good, I like and appreciate your views. What causes trouble here is the moment anyone comes across as an agent or even tries to sway participants here into private conversations, particularly the ones that has trappings of monetary extortion (that's up to participants though), that one will always meet stiff/vehement/intense resistance from key contributors here. You guys keep the good work you are doing and kudos will abound! Many regards

Wether awelekiti and jawa are the same, does it matter? So far they are proffering solution to people's problems/questions. I sent pm to awelekiti, he didn't respond but he responded to all my questions here with detailed explanations. Someone like me would have used agent if not for this forum. Thank you awelekiti and jawa.

dear overlord77, congrats on your visa. if you are visiting canada for the first time and you dont have a specific event or period to visit, egypt air is always cheapest around late november to early december. the planes are not new but you'll get there while saving out a lot. the cold during this period however, is severe.also lookout for deals on BA, you can get a flight to toronto for just 600GBP with transits in London and montreal. i shall also like to tell you to use the UP express, a pearson airport train service, to go downtown toronto, you will love it and it will cost you just 12CAD. a taxi or uber for this service will set you back at least 45CAD. ottawa is a great city to visit too and montreal if money is not a problem. if you're an explorer and like to see and feel things for yourself, try and see one of the finest cities on earth, vancouver or venture into the freezing streets of yellowknife, the capital of NWT province. i know you cant see it all at once but i like trying.
if you have a valid US visa, flying to boston or NYC and then getting a separate connection to toronto is always cheapest if you plan well ahead of time.
enjoy your trip. best of luck.

Good day everyone one, God bless you all for sharing useful information here.please l need your advice. After reading jerrymax 's comment on ticking no instead of yes. I was surprised and quickly checked the copy of the application form l submitted. l ticked no after reading "have you ever been refused a visa to Canada' and did not see 'or any other country'.truly speaking l didn't see it if not l would have stated it. maybe because l assumed it's like USA application form that asks for USA only without other countries. I know U.K. asks in their form which l always tick yes with reason. My only visa denial was U.K. like 8 yrs ago and l later got 6months,2years and presently 5 yrs now, l also have valid US visa. Do l need to write the embassy if yes what is the email address. Thank you all. Please respond to my question @ awelekiti l posted this and to answer your question, l submitted by paper route at abuja, so will need the abuja embassy address.thanks l really appreciate
