Thank you ma
Giddyperson:
9 weeks is far along enough to find a baby, mamas that have had similar experience would answer you better when they come online but for now I think you should try a different scan place.
HealthRe: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by Trish102(f): 7:01am On May 21, 2017
Thank you ma. It's was abdominal scan and i was ask to wait for 2 weeks for another scan.
jesufifunmi:
All i can tell you right now is to relax. Normally, a fetal pole or at least a yolk should be in the gestational sac at 9 weeks. But it happens like that on rare occasions. Was the scan transvaginal or abdominal? Did they measure the pole? Is it up to 22mm? You can wait till 10 weeks and try again. May be you ovulated late and your dates were off. In all relax and pray!

I had same experience, lost all preg symptoms and had the intuition that something was not right. I went for a trans scan and was told same thing that there was no pole at 8 weeks. Was told to wait 2 weeks to confirm if it's really a blighted ovum. I did and unfortunately, we had to evacuate. By the grace of God, I took in again 4 months after and i am here today. This is not to scare you, but to encourage you. If the worse happens, God still God your back, it's not your fault and there is nothing you could have done to avoid it.

I pray yours doesn't end the same way. All the best.

The doctor checked at ist and said the baby was ok cause i complained i wasnt feeling preggy anymore . I then requested to hear the heart beat. That was when he checked again and said he couldn't find baby in d sack ,it's was abdominal scan
zaynie:
Keep your fingers crossed. You may have miscalculated your LMP.
My SiL did and the Dr told them the scan results doesn't correlate with the fetal age. They had to do another scan 2 weeks later to confirm.
Couldn't find any baby at all?
Did they check the Fallopian tubes and cervical area to rule out ectopic pregnancy cervical pregnancy?

This hospital search is really frustrating. I've just this weekend to make up my mind. Starting a new job on Monday after staying at home for 10 months. I couldn't even tell me employer I'm pregnant . I wonder what will happen when I start showing
Yesitsme:
I think I agree, instead of that go it Maternal and Child- 1st gate
HealthRe: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by Trish102(f): 11:16am On May 11, 2017
Thank you. Now I'm really getting frustrated with this hospital wahala
modupsie:
I might sound a bit paranoid but please don't go to Luth! They killed my father there due to their incompetence. You will not see any consultant. It is the med school grads and students that are attending to patients. That place is a dungeon. I'm sorry but the name Luth makes me cringe.
HealthRe: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by Trish102(f): 7:51am On May 11, 2017
Thank you so much, ve decided to register with luth and a private hospital. u can imagine The hosipal I attended when i had malaria at Ago has only one doctor, I had to wait for almost 1 hr b4 the doctor showed up. Will surely put all this in check.
Onegai:
Please get one 30 minutes away from you. Ago Palace Way to Festac is way over 45 minutes. You do not wish to go far in case of an emergency. No hospital should be more than 30 mins away from you, Nigeria does not have working ambulances.

Emel is good, as they have a Consultant Gynae and used to have a Professor of Gynecology.

To pick a good hospital, don't look at cost alone, look at

1. Hygiene. Do they have hand sanitizers everywhere and wash hands often? You don't want a baby exposed to all sorts of things like opportunistic infections. Especially newborns.
2. Staff. Are their nurses auxiliary nurses? Whom is their dr and their CMD? I looked my doctors up online and made enquiries (there are ways to check) so I knew whom I was dealing with (can be a neglectful ass but he is an overqualified ass who knows his onions). When you go there, who attends, Resident or new out-of-Med-school (who may get flustered with an emergency).
3. Emergency services. Do they have an operating theatre, can they do emergency CS and stabilize a patient? Private hospitals are rarely fully staffed but the better the CMD, the faster he/she can call an OB, surgeon and great staff to his hospital to perform surgery on a patient.
4. NICU. Can the hospital handle premature babies? Do they have working Phototherapy machines (because I have heard "please the patient has to go to another hospital because we don't have phototherapy bed/light bulb to treat" ). Is the hospital equipped to stabilize your baby and rush them to a bigger hospital if they need surgery?
5. Blood bank. How far is it from the hospital and how well-stocked is it?
6. Distance. How far is this place from me because my water could break, my labour can progress faster than jack Robinson and I really don't need to be in traffic (especially now that raining season has started) crying in a car.

That is how I picked my hospitals, by asking those questions. It's usually blood bank they fail at being close but they pass other things. So I'm not too worried and Dr staff are usually impressed that I did my homework and I'm asking them the right questions. Anybody that gets angry I'm asking if you can save the life of me and my baby during an emergency, thanks but no need to continue using them. HTH.

By the way, after you register, if you are a low-risk patient, they won't be carrying you like a raw egg. Infact the OB (consultant or not) won't show up until 20mins to you're ready to push. The nurses will be in charge. So yeah, super important to codedly ask the nurses "What school did you go, my cousin wants to attend Nursing school". Because a lot of mushroom clinics hire auxiliary nurses and pass them off as more than their qualifications and when you find out is when they cannot handle an emergency and keep calling Dr (always happens at night).

Thank you so much , I really appreciates ur detailed note
spiceeamiee:
I think Golden cross is OK. Had a church member who used them and she said she would recommend them. I don't know so much about Emel although I know its quite a popular hospital in Festac.

MCC is at First gate. Just take keke from Apple Junction and tell them you are going to MCC

ST Raphael is at Grandmate bus stop in Ago. You would see the hospital sign once you get to the bus stop.

Outreach is just before Cele (Opp Diamond Restaurant and Pizza) but they also have another branch inside Festac

spiceeamiee:
Hey dear, I use Bonna Santes Hospital. Its in 321 road in Festac. I also use Maternal and Child Hospital also in Festac. I wanted to use Outreach but my sister-in-law used them last year and I did not like how she was treated, although other people say their services are good. You can also try St Rapheal on Lateef Adegboyega street. I'm using Bonna Santes cos its my HMO. The doctor knows his onions but he can also be a pain in the a** sometimes. If you don't mind the crowd, MCC is actually very good. The doctors listen to you and don't shoo you away like most General Hospitals do. Maybe its because they are a strictly Maternity hospital and as such have no choice than to attend to you.
Thank you so much, want through my dh hmo list, didn't see any of the one u mentioned. Except gloden cross and Emel hospital
