Politics › Re: Are Nigerians Resident In Uk Jealous Of Their Visiting Counterparts ? by trublu1(f): 1:45pm On Jun 09, 2010 |
ok, when I saw the subject title, my reaction was 'say WHAT' ?? my dear poster - there are good and bad in both countries. *I'm talking about 'living standards'. kudos to you for being able to travel 2x per year to the UK. May be your 2nd cuz avoids to see you because he's just not that into you *Don't be mad, I'ma just sayin' Some peeps over here may think that they can do better back home, in that case, then they should plan to return. Afterall, that's the beauty of being permanently resident in the UK ( if papers wasn't an issue) - the free will to travel. However, there are many more who swap places with people in the UK - giving the sorry state of our country. |

afulstop: @ all my Nlanders:thanks again people for your responses!@Buzugee:It is not a twisted question o! This really is happening to my friend o!We r both billed to attend this wedding of a former uni classmate in nyc in august o!, I'm feeling so unhappy at the moment cos we've been planning the trip for a bit now.unfortunately, she is the one who needs to get a u.s visa.she is not even the travelling type!! Like most of u Nlanders have noted and also from what I have observed from watching "the interaction" between the couple, dare i say it tht her hubby is certainly a control freak! Apart frm this I can't say tht I know any sort of ongoing/lingering problems tht they might be havin cos I guess thts private. @poster, I'm I missing something ? Usually, when an email is in the 'draft' folder - it has not been 'sent'. Her 'b@st@rd' of a husband (and I use the term husband ever so lightly) just wanted her to see the 'draft'. Tell her to check the 'sent' box to see if any other emails, apart from her own, has been sent to the embassy. |
Business › Re: Advice On Relocation To Nigeria From Uk by trublu1(f): 9:43am On Jun 09, 2010 |
chaircover: I am not being funny but something tells me that you are not quite ready yet. You are just fed up with UK life and feel a little homesick. Trust me I am sure that we all feel like that from time to time.
Ask me why, I say this; you are more interested in your luxury than anything else.
I hear about living in a high brow area, driving a nice car and buying a Gen powerful enough to light up yours and next doors property.
I don't hear anything about your business rates, business premises, staff wages, staff recruitment, advertising costs, business registration, healthcare, security, taxes etc. I am not sure if you have kids but if you do then schools, books, childcare etc. These are the important things to consider when relocation & not the prado jeep. After all it is the business that is going to sustain you when you relocate, so this should be your top priority.
You also don't have a property of your own; (well I am assuming so since you want to go and rent) most people who relocate usually have a property no matter how small so at least they are not at the mercy of one landlord. Even if you rent out the boys quarters, it means you have a steady even if small amount of income coming in yearly.
My brother please do your homework very well before you get on that plane and if you do have a property here in the UK please please please do not sell it to fund your relocation to Nigeria. ^^^ The above here is a very good outlook. I totally agree with what Chaircover has said. Also, have you tried going back for initial 'long' stay visits before packing your bags and running for the hills? Can I presume that your business is already off and running (well, running to the best capabilities without you needing to be on the ground). Bros, before you know it, living costs will outstrip 'business' cost, |

Travelista: Their kids are adorable; the son is a spitting image of his Papi! The wife is gorgeous but I can't get down with her extensions. With all the money her husband has, she can't get a silk/lace closure and some Malaysian Remy? She's too pretty to be looking a mess. ^^^ I know, I know, I gave her the 'side eye' with that mop on her head, but then again, can't accuse her of using up all of hubby's ££££ on beautifying herself. |

Did it during our traditional marriage, i don't see anything 'wrong' with it. It's a cultural thing and it's up to the individual how they feel about it. |
