you need a good quality ram and ssd for a good laptop, for example if u have a laptop of 3rd gen and u input ram like 16gb and 512gb ssd nvme it would run far better than a 8th gen with 8gb ram and 500gb hdd you will clearly see the difference. so while u going for the 8th or 10th gen have ram and ssd in your mind to get a better one also

you are welcome,that aside money wise 8th gen can do job even 4th gen but if u are a rich dude elevate higher take 10th gen for me am on 8th gen secondary and primary 13th gen.

Is a 2.21 Ghz processor okay for programming?

more over u cannot compare an 8th gen to 10gen, the difference btw an i5 and i7 is just like in cars 4plug and 6plug only speed but u cannot compare a car made in 2008 and a car made in 2010. so the 10th gen is way more better in all angles kindly ignore that i5 and i7 the difference is around 20 percent but 8th and 10th the difference is 80 percent
