The rule is not for the other interviews you have been to. Let me say It was strictly for interview panel and those of us they interviewed. Probably you will understand it better this way
uzoexcel:
Au contraire. I have been in interviews where the 'Tell me about yourself' question can be used by a canny person to set the tone and pace of the interview.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by Trunky: 11:45am On Jul 05, 2019
The information is not debatable as I didn't come up with it. I was told EXPLICITLY by the a member of the panel and the Chairman of the panel repeated it while setting the tune for my interview session. So what you and I think at this moment about the rules of the question is inconsequential as it concerns this particular interview.
Leumas100:

You might be correct, but don't forget it is the foundation to the impression the interviewers would have about the interviewee.

I just finished mine. For those that are yet to go for theirs, please note that the question "tell us about yourself " carries no mark. If you are asked simply tell them your name and any other info about you that is not on your CV. If u don't have any info about yourself that is not on your CV, simply respond like " my name is xxxxxx xxxxxx and everything about me is on my CV". Even if u tell them anything about you that is not on your CV, u will still not be given any additional mark. So we were told by a member of the panel before we went in.Also prepare for safety questions because there is mostly likely going to be a HSE person on the panel. For the technical guys also expect a maintenance person in the panel. Questions are strictly from your CV and nothing else. Good luck to everyone.

My people ur advice will be highly appreciated. My spouse IELTS results came out this morning as LRWS 8,8,7,6.5. This is putting my CRS as the PA on 450. If she had a 7 in speaking, my CRS would have been 452. Considering the scarcity and importance of 2points these days, do we ask for a remark or just hope some day we will clinch ITA with the 450? Pls note that she wrote with IDP. Thanks

The question you have written about is not detailed enough for one to know if your essay should be written as an opinion essay, a discussion essay or an opinion/discussion essay. This will determine the body of the essay. Kindly write out the question the way it was asked.
Your introduction paragraph looks good but there are quite a number of red flags in the body paragraphs mostly in terms of the structure. So like I said earlier, let's get the exact question so we know if u are to discuss the question or give your opinion or do both.

Xyzee:
My people,

I would be writing my first ever IELTS tomorrow and have been practicing a lot lately, Kindly assist to critique one of my essays below so I could avoid making these mistakes in real exams condition.

below essay is my thought on early and late marriages.

In recent times in Nigeria, there has been an upsurge in the debate about early and late marriages. While a particular school of thought has come out to support the former there have been very tacit backing for the latter by traditional family societies. I believe the merits of an early marriage far outweighs a late marriage.

Besides, stigmatization of late marriages in our society is one hurdle that you would have successfully crossed because we are in a growing African society that despises late marriages and supports the maxim that women generally age faster than the men.
Furthermore, an early marriage supports the idea of early procreation. A family is able to decide on the number of children they want and set out to accomplish this. This would ultimately support the fact that we have to grow with our children thereby making them our friends.

In-as-much as the task of raising children is a daunting responsibility, financial planning is very necessary in both marriage types therefore, I would prefer that the bills of my children are picked up in my entire working life. Using one’s pension and savings to take care of kids is often encouraged by late marriages and I do not support this.

Also, the argument in support of late marriages that it allows ample time for intending couple to plan might be plausible. However, an early marriage would allow intending couples to weather the storms of life together, learning from their pitfalls and brazing themselves up to the top.

Two good heads they say, are better than one and even best if they come together earlier in life

Okay thanks

are you evaluating with ICES for sole purpose of verifying WAEC/NECO? if no, then read up diligently. All the best.

Has anybody noticed that documentations required by ICES for Nigerian candidates ECA includes secondary school certificate (WAEC, NECO) and a scratch card? If yes how can one navigate through the rigors of just sending only scratch card and certificate to them as the school will always send your transcript separately?

Hello who ever is behind the computer, responding on behalf of shoptomydoor. I have very serious trust issues with you people. I would have loved to make this complain to a very very senior management in your company, but let me leave the complain with you in the hopes that it will be passed on to them. This is the second time I will be shipping with shoptomydoor and on both occasions, I felt defrauded. For the first shipment, I was told I didn't include my unit number in my shipping address when actually I did. I was charged over 10dollars extra for that despite the fact that I provided evidences (my invoice and proof of delivery from UPS) to confirm I did include my unit number in my shipping address. On my second shipment, the weight of my order was as recorded on my dash board was inflated by a whooping 150% and the chargeable weight was inflated by over 300%. UPS had provided the weight of my order on the proof of delivery as 1LBS. 2.5LBS was recorded on my dashboard and 4.14LBS was used for my chargeable weight. MY question is can your measurements be more accurate and reliable than that of UPS?
If you are reading this message please know that I have long lost confidence in your services and I won't hesitate to switch allegiance the moment I get an alternative.

shoptomydoor:
Hello Mr Victor,
We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you experienced. We are currently working on improving a lot of shopping and shipping services; and can assure you that your feedback will be one. However, we will like to investigate this immediately, please provide your order number/unit number, so we can check the update on this.
We are also excited to let you know that our recent partnership with DHL will put an end to all forms of delivery delays experienced in the past few weeks. You will now enjoy a faster delivery and at same rate starting from $14, we can assure you all deliveries will now be shipped out and delivered as stipulated.
Please reply with your order number so we can resolve this and put in measures to ensure it does not occur in future.

Thank you very much. I guess we will just proceed with the one on her international passport. Do I have to inform WES of this development as her credentials will bear the name we are dropping?
Nazor83:
The advise I've always seen here in such cases is that you use one and same person affidavit. I also have something similar to your wife's problem and I raised a one and only person affidavit based on advise I got here and also did a confirmation of name advert in a national daily. You can explore those options.

Good day all. Please I will need advise on the precarious situation of mine. Wifey''s middle name has a mix up if the letters 'a' and 'e' in some of her documents, that is her WAEC and Bachelors degree certificate carries "Osaremen" as her middle name whereas her international passport, BVN, and most of her post graduation certificate carries "Oseremen" as her middle name. We are about to pay for her IELTS exams and WES credentials evaluation and we are very wary of the approach to take for this mixup so that it doesn't blow in our faces at the end of the day. Please gurus in the house who are familiar with such situattion, we need your advice. Thanks

Please shoptomydoor this is the first time I am shipping my goods with you and my experience has been a sour one. Though i will attribute it to the unprofessional conduct of your staffs. It started with shipping my order to the warehouse address's that was supplied to me when I opened my account. 7days after the merchant confirmed delivery, my items were yet to be updated on my warehouse. When I contacted them the customer service agent I probably used a wrong address or I probably didn't add my unit number. This I rebuffed by telling her I used the address that was assigned to me the way it was. To cut the long story short I gave them my invoice which showed exactly the same warehouse address that was given to me on my account. Low and behold when they updated my item on my warehouse, they added a charge of 7dollars for unidentified / wrong packaging address. My question is was the address given to my when I opened my account wrong? If no why should the cost of slopiness of one of your staffs be transferred to me? Please I need answers to these questions else this will be the first and last time I will be using shoptomydoor
