You can't set up your own APC group without the backing of NWC NEC

Pro Tinubu group are talking of illegality but there is no illegality when the 1/3 quorum is reached

The chairman duly elected would be in charge of primaries

As things stand APC pro Buhari group would get those they need to effect their convention as well as elect their national chairman to take over primaries

Pro Tinubu group are really helpless at this point, all they can do is take NEC orders

Whatever consulting they believe they are doing is all waste if the party structure won't allow such

It is better Tinubu pull out from this impending defeat and go form his regional party or risk a disgraceful fall in apc

As it is today the pro Buhari group can wake up and schedule a convention even without the pro Tinubu group so long as they certify a date between them

Or they can organise a public convention limited to only themselves and can ratify a consensus or primaries with those who want to be a part of it

Article 28 talks about the seal of the party which is in custody of the national secretary

I believe no decision can be ratified else where without this

Also let me expantiate that APC isn't ammending the constitution per say because only the national convention can do so

The NEC is only administering who is eligible to attend such convention in the first place

Article 26 again decides how to form a quorum with a simple 1/3

And any decision can be taken especially an NEC own that would be binding on all organs of the party

To the convention proper I find it interesting to see that there is no date on the minimum to give inec notification of a national convention

And also this convention can be summoned at anytime even an emergency one with 7 days to 14days to notify "eligible members"

The question is who determines who is eligible to take part putting into memory that the NEC have power to ratify any decision

Also the simple majority needed to summon this quorum at anytime is just 1/3

The people pushing this new bill can as well exclude all the NASS members to narrow their options or they can gather one quarter of nass members loyalists and ratify anything

I believe they are taking the first option route

The dilemma is why would APC want to do except to derail a perceived enemy, some reps members said they pleged allegiance to Tinubu the other time, and I believe they may not be the only group that would be targeted

This ammendment may affect senators too, including all non APC committee members from (xxxii) down

Some are saying NASS members can't be banned but that's it's very possible according to APC constitution

According to the powers invested on the Bumi National Executive committee they can create any binding law on all organs of the party pending the decisions of a national convention

Number 3 of the National Executive committee powers including ability to make any decision which includes stopping NASS members from the convention as well as stopping any other groups of the convention members

APC national secretary has indicated that there is a document proposing the ammendment of the APC constitution that NASS members shouldn't be a part of its Congress/convention.

What is striking is that John Akpanuodehe called it a mere proposal but this is interesting because nobody knows how long this bill has been with him

APC constitution requires a bill for amendment to be raised 21days to the Secretary

The secretary then notifies those who would be members of the convention 14 days ahead of convention date

2 and 3 of the ammendment discusses this

Today or perphas marks the 14 day to convention which is why we may be hearing this info now

Did APC fix NEC meeting, this should be your crux because APC doesn't need to call all nec members for the meeting
